00:00They say if your lights start flickering at night, and you hear whispering from nowhere, never turn them off.
00:08My name is James. I didn't believe in any of that. It was just another night after work.
00:14The hallway light was flickering, like it always does when the bulbs loose.
00:18I didn't think much of it, until I heard it, a whisper, right behind me, but I was alone.
00:23I turned around nothing, just a buzzing light and silence. I laughed it off, told myself I was just tired.
00:31Then I switched the light off, and the whisper, came back. This time, it said my name.
00:36I froze. My phone buzzed it was a video call from Lisa, my best friend.
00:41I answered it, trying to act normal. She was smiling, until she wasn't.
00:46Her eyes widened. She leaned closer to the screen. Then, in a voice that wasn't hers, she said,
00:52You shouldn't have turned it off. The screen glitched. Then went black.
00:56I called out her name, but the call had ended. That's when all the lights in the house went out.
01:02Every single one. Total darkness. I grabbed my phone flashlight, but it kept flickering.
01:07I ran to the bathroom to catch my breath. In the mirror, there was someone behind me. Tall, still, no eyes.
01:15Just a mouth, whispering silently. I turned around no one, but the whispers. They didn't stop.
01:21They were everywhere now. Layered. Echoing. Calling me. You broke the rule. The light kept me out.
01:27Now I'm here. I ran for the front door. It wouldn't open. None of them did. My flashlight flickered one
01:33last time. And then darkness. They found me the next morning. Standing. Frozen. My eyes wide open.
01:41My mouth still moving. Whispering something no one could understand. There was one thing written on
01:46the wall behind me. In shaky, burned in letters. Never turn off the light.
