00:00Around one million young people gathered in a field on the outskirts of Rome.
00:07As Pope Leo arrived, they chanted ecstatically in anticipation of his words of wisdom.
00:14On stage, he closed out his first Jubilee.
00:18His call was for unity and peace in great times of suffering.
00:23We are closer than ever to young people who suffer the most serious evils,
00:29which are caused by other human beings.
00:33We are with the young people of Gaza.
00:40We are with the young people of Ukraine.
00:47With those of every land bloodied by war.
00:53It was the culmination of a week of activities throughout Rome
00:56that attracted young pilgrims from over 140 countries.
01:00Saturday night's vigil was one of the highlights.
01:04Dubbed the Catholic Woodstock by local media,
01:07it featured entertainment from two dozen musical and dance groups,
01:11after which thousands had camped out overnight for the Sunday morning mass.
01:17It's just amazing to see just how big the world church is,
01:21and how many people are here just believing in God.
01:25I'm actually converting, so I'm not Catholic yet.
01:29So the Pope gives me really hope for a new future.
01:34I hope that in the coming months and years I can get to know him better.
01:39But I have to say, I think he's stirring something in the souls of us young people.
01:46The Roman Catholic Jubilee is a holy year that takes place roughly every 25 years.
01:52This youth pilgrimage was organised just three months into the start of Leo's papacy.
