00:00Hey, next time you interrupt a woman in my courtroom, we're gonna send you off to a lighthouse, crawling with gators.
00:08Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the best times performers broke in an SNL sketch.
00:15When I opened the door, he just...
00:21Number 30, Gift Wrap.
00:23Oh yeah, she's gonna have the best Christmas of her flip in life.
00:27I hope so, she's pretty special.
00:30Oh, I know she will, sir. That is my Christmas guarantee.
00:35Oh, ow!
00:36Oh, sugar, are you okay?
00:38Yeah, just a little paper cut.
00:41This might not be the first SNL sketch with lots of blood, but few ever go this wrong.
00:46James Franco's Gift Wrapper cuts his finger and unleashes a geyser.
00:50Leslie Jones is right in the splash zone, with some of the fake blood getting into her mouth.
00:54The actress is clearly struggling as she tries to compose herself.
00:57It might be funny for a second, but it's also really gross when you put yourself in her shoes.
01:02Good lord!
01:04What is happening?
01:05Your Christmas dreams are coming true, that's what.
01:08Let me find my special choo-choo paper.
01:11You know what? I think we good, man.
01:15Kenan Thompson looks concerned as he stands next to his scene partner.
01:19While Jones tries not to be sick, Franco breaks after a gag with a fake foot.
01:24She might even deserve an award for hanging in there.
01:26Okay, that's what, of course, that's what she said!
01:31Number 29. Beavis and Butthead.
01:34Host Ryan Gosling certainly likes to break, or at least he can't seem to help it.
01:38Look, they even sitting like they do on the show.
01:42You two really don't know that you look like Beavis and Butthead.
01:44This translates to yet another modern classic from the evil geniuses at SNL.
01:52The show puts Gosling and Mikey Day in makeup as the cartoon characters Beavis and Butthead.
01:57This sends Heidi Gardner into a laughing fit before some of her co-stars follow suit.
02:01The host also loses it, with the sketch taking a few pauses so performers can collect themselves.
02:06We don't blame any of them for giggling, considering the script or the prosthetics.
02:17In the future, we hope this absurd idea comes back to crack up more people like Chloe Fineman.
02:22I don't know this gentleman.
02:24You don't know each other?
02:26No. No. Um...
02:28Hi, I'm Dean.
02:30I'm Dean.
02:31Jeff. Nice to meet you.
02:32Nice to meet you, too.
02:34Number 28. Main Justice with Jamie Hayden.
02:36I'll tell you, see right here, right now.
02:38Okay?
02:39All right, here we go.
02:40I'm about to serve up a heaping spoonful of Maine justice, you know?
02:44Considering the circumstances, this sketch wasn't going to play out any other way.
02:48Jason Sudeikis plays a judge in Maine with a southern accent.
02:52It's already crazy before the trial gets going, confusing audiences with its funny details.
02:56Okay, all right, all right, all right, all right, okay, okay.
02:59Order my courtroom.
03:00Order my...
03:01Y'all shut your butts.
03:03Yes, right.
03:04Sudeikis' character then issues a punishment for Bobby Moynihan that breaks Jamie Foxx's bailiff.
03:09With the lead performer adding in a kiss, he forces Foxx to hide his face.
03:13There, lily-white butt across the swamp to pull out that ass fire.
03:19The entire script feels like a fever dream that only gets better with these interactions.
03:30While we might have more questions than answers, we can't help but laugh as the breaking enhances the scene.
03:36Number 27, another close encounter.
03:46With how things went the first time around, you'd think that SNL learned their lesson.
03:50I'm hauled on board with my bush and my tush hanging.
03:56I see my old pals, the gray aliens with the big stupid fat eyes.
04:00And I'm hit with the realization, first time I've been on a second date since 2009.
04:05The sequel to Close Encounter brings back Ryan Gosling for even more antics.
04:10It also keeps him laughing throughout the increasingly strange alien stories.
04:14It's a fantastic source of comedy, guaranteeing big reactions from the host as he deals with Kate McKinnon's character.
04:20We were led down a passageway of light,
04:22cradled by what felt like a big...
04:25...fuzzy mitten.
04:28And it almost felt like I was, uh, like God himself.
04:32You know, it was playing with my hair.
04:33There's also a more in-depth demonstration this time around.
04:37While handling her co-star, Kate McKinnon does wonders to break the Barbie actor into pieces.
04:42Gosling's giggles are definitely contagious, as this chaotic follow-up earns its place alongside the original.
04:48Thanks, Todd.
04:49Number 26, Benihana.
04:56It's a pleasure to join you both.
04:58My name is Adam Grossman.
05:00I'm six years young.
05:01And this is my very lovely and very single nanny, Miss Lily.
05:06In another take on this sketch, Jonah Hill's Adam Grossman is a precocious six-year-old.
05:11Leslie Jones plays his nanny, Miss Lily, and tries to keep it together through all of the jokes.
05:15Hill's role also lets him sing, using reggae tunes to break Jones.
05:19I shot the sheriff.
05:23But me, do not shoot the death.
05:26You're giving me nothing here.
05:28It feels like pulling teeth without a string.
05:30The sudden burst into song makes it harder for the super bad star to keep a straight face, too.
05:34Both performers enjoy themselves through this scene, earning even more laughs from the audience.
05:39The pair becomes a great comedic team here, even after tripping each other up.
05:43If you love Bob Marley, you'll probably get a kick out of this one.
05:47Okay, Adam, let's just let the nice men enjoy their dinner, okay?
05:52One love!
05:54One hug!
05:55I'm kidding!
05:57Only with mom when you're engagement!
06:01Fred Armisen plays this role with both dedication and chaos.
06:05The inclusion of Jason Sudeikis only makes things funnier, with the two playing people that derail a party.
06:10It's so nice to meet you.
06:12Oh, really?
06:12It's nice of who to meet me.
06:14And what do you mean by it's?
06:18Isn't she beautiful, gang?
06:19Armisen's abrasive guest stretches out, puts her foot in guacamole, and tests the other's patience.
06:25Is she okay?
06:26Oh, yeah, she's okay.
06:28She's more than okay.
06:29No, her body is like a heart.
06:32But not only I know how to play, and only my touch is what she responds to.
06:37Oh, yeah, there it is.
06:38It also causes the former cast member to drop his act.
06:41Not only that, the likes of Vanessa Bayer can't contain herself at one point.
06:45Is there any more food?
06:48I need to get something down my throat to fight what is coming up.
06:52Yeah, you're good.
06:57The sketch itself is hilarious, and these moments heighten the experience even more.
07:03By the end, Aidy Bryant also breaks as the ensemble and props are pushed to the limit.
07:09Number 24.
07:10Hollywood Dish with Scarlett Johansson.
07:12Johansson, look at you!
07:14Sexy, sexy, sexy!
07:17More like Scarlett Johansson.
07:19Good nickname.
07:20If you pair up Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader, you'll make any sketch better.
07:26This scene also shows that the two can break like the best of them.
07:29Both performers play interviewers, asking all kinds of awkward and invasive questions to Scarlett Johansson.
07:35This culminates with a slushy drink gag that might shock you.
07:38Wiig knows it's coming and still struggles through her lines, with Hader completely broken next to her.
07:43Even Johansson can't keep a straight face in a reaction shot.
07:59There's a fair chance that anybody would laugh under the same conditions.
08:02Despite all these setbacks, this sketch remains one of the funniest of its era.
08:07You have great skin.
08:15What's your secret?
08:17Number 23.
08:18Lisa from Temecula.
08:19Let's not forget her baby sister Lisa, who flew all the way from Temecula to celebrate with us.
08:26Lisa, we've heard so much about you.
08:28It's so nice to finally meet you.
08:29Mm-hmm.
08:30That's cute.
08:31But don't think I'm giving up the butt tonight.
08:33With her dedicated performance, Ego Wodum sets off a chain reaction that nobody can recover from.
08:38Her character cuts into a well-done steak and starts to shake the table.
08:42Host Pedro Pascal can't keep a straight face, cracking up as he tries to deliver his lines.
08:47This dog followed me home.
08:48I'm about to tear this thing up.
08:51When I opened the door, he just...
08:57He isn't the only one desperate to stay focused either.
09:06Wodum pushes through in an outrageous sketch, leading to some more funny reactions.
09:11Even Bowen Yang can't control himself, falling apart as the scene builds to an entertaining climax.
09:16Hey everyone, just want to check in on you.
09:18Is everything going alright?
09:19We've been getting some complaints.
09:20Oh, cause we black?
09:21Through it all, the cast looks like they're genuinely having fun.
09:27We over here minding our business.
09:31I'm just making sure everything's okay.
09:33Actually, everything is not okay.
09:37Number 22, The Barry Gibb Talk Show, BG Singers.
09:41Tonight, Barry's guests are...
09:43An old room full of strangers.
09:47Former California recall candidate, Arianna Huffington.
09:49Disgusting politics.
09:52Lieutenant Governor, Cruz Booster-Motor.
09:53And the officials of the day.
09:57In many versions of this sketch,
10:00Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake have carried on a musical tradition.
10:03They play Barry and Robin Gibb in this ridiculous talk show.
10:06Fallon takes over with his lively accent,
10:09sending his collaborator for a loop.
10:10Robin, do you have anything to add?
10:14No.
10:16No, I don't.
10:18Nothing at all.
10:19The Gibb brothers have never seemed so dysfunctional or hilarious.
10:28Timberlake cracks under the pressure,
10:30unable to stay in character as his co-star flies off the handle.
10:34The host understandably breaks after listening to his scene partner's falsettos.
10:38With the singer trying to keep up,
10:39this bizarre premise gets both the guest performer and audience chuckling.
10:43Plug him up.
10:44Crazy cold medallions.
10:46Plug him up.
10:48Ba-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la.
10:50No.
10:5121.
10:52The Californians.
10:53Stewart has cancer.
10:54Any time this recurring sketch shows up,
10:56you know you're in for a good time.
10:58Maybe you should get going before Stewart gets home.
11:01All right.
11:01I'll say you're going to take Canyon View Driver to San Vicente,
11:04and then make a left and go on to 405 North.
11:06And from there, just get off.
11:08I'm all hauling.
11:08I totally like that.
11:12This scene lets the cast poke fun at soap operas and Southern California in general.
11:17When Fred Armisen's character Stewart shows up,
11:19the sketch starts to break down in funny ways.
11:22Bill Hader tries to keep a straight face,
11:24but he's no match for Armisen's expressive voice.
11:26There's nothing going on, Stewart.
11:29You see who?
11:30Get back on San Vicente, take it to the 10,
11:34then switch over to the 405 North,
11:36and let it dump you out into Mulholland where you belong.
11:38You can see Hader hanging on for dear life as his co-stars keep pushing forward.
11:48Even the best SNL performers lose control,
11:50with Kristen Wiig almost cracking up during a later moment.
11:53Everyone manages to finish strong as the dramatic revelations and directions keep going.
11:58When you see the zanko chicken on the left and right,
12:01take Venice and follow it all the way down.
12:03Then you're in the reason why.
12:05In 2018, Bill Hader hosted Saturday Night Live for the second time since leaving the show five years earlier,
12:23and he left everyone, including his co-stars, in stitches.
12:27In this sketch, Hader plays Horace, the elderly husband to SNL regular Cecily Strong,
12:33who's attending a game night with her girlfriends.
12:35It's here. Let's go.
12:38It's revealed that Horace has just popped to see Alice,
12:41causing Strong to hop on his lap as the pill only lasts a couple of minutes.
12:45Hader proceeds to use his vehicular prop to great comedic effect,
12:48ultimately causing everyone involved to break character.
13:00Hader later discussed the scene on Late Night with Seth Meyers,
13:03and once again struggled to contain his laughter.
13:06You should be ashamed of yourselves.
13:08The brainchild of Bill Hader and John Mulaney,
13:18Stefan was introduced in 2008, and quickly became a fan favorite.
13:22New York's hottest club is Pants!
13:28The world said goodbye to the Weekend Update correspondent,
13:32whose knowledge of New York City's most bizarre hotspots
13:34was both hilarious and unparalleled, in 2013.
13:38But since then, Stefan has still found time to make a guest appearance or two.
13:42Do people still use the word...
13:44My girlfriend.
13:49Thank you, Sean.
13:52In 2018, Stefan resurfaced, along with his lawyer, Shy, played by Mulaney,
13:57and wasted no time getting everyone to crack up,
14:00including Hader and update hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che.
14:03Hader laughs throughout the entire sketch,
14:06leading us to believe he was reading the script for the first time.
14:09How else do you explain it?
14:11And he whispered in my ear to make me laugh,
14:13he said, uh, my girlfriend...
14:15Because my girlfriend works at Yoshinoa Beef Bowl.
14:21Number 18, Simon's Dreidel Backed with Minora in the Window.
14:25These two iconic characters have made numerous appearances over the years.
14:28Hey!
14:30Hi!
14:30Hello!
14:31Thank you!
14:32Hi!
14:33Everything okay, guys?
14:34No, we just, um...
14:36Played to perfection by Fred Armisen and Kristen Wiig,
14:39Garth and Kat are a songwriting team that just can't find time to rehearse their songs.
14:43Mountains!
14:44The mountains!
14:46The mountains!
14:47The mountains!
14:48The mountains!
14:49The mountains!
14:49The mountains!
14:50The mountains!
14:51The mountains!
14:52In fact, to get into character,
14:54Wiig and Armisen never rehearsed their performances,
14:56something Wiig called, quote,
14:58freeing and fun.
14:59Perhaps that's why both actors regularly burst into fits of laughter during sketches,
15:03as neither knew what to expect from the other.
15:05Watching Wiig try and keep up as Armisen just wings a performance is truly amazing.
15:10It's no wonder they couldn't keep it together.
15:14Gross!
15:18Number 17, Fernando's Hideaway with Hulk Hogan and Mr. T.
15:22A recurring sketch from the 80s era of SNL involved Billy Crystal
15:25parodying Argentinian actor Fernando Lamas in a sketch called,
15:29Fernando's Hideaway.
15:30I'm into Hideaway today with one of the biggest names in baseball.
15:33It's got 12 letters in it.
15:35I counted it myself.
15:36Crystal would slap on a thick Spanish accent and interview celebrities,
15:40often getting their names and other tidbits of personal information wrong throughout the interview.
15:44One of the most famous sketches saw Crystal interviewing wrestlers slash actors Hulk Hogan and Mr. T.
15:50Despite their attempts to keep a straight face,
15:52Hogan and Mr. T. both break character near the end of the sketch,
15:55after Crystal ad-libs a line about exercise equipment.
15:58I was at a Hollywood party with this person or dirt,
16:02if you know what I'm saying to you.
16:05It would appear that everyone is susceptible to breaking
16:09while in the presence of a gifted comedian like Billy Crystal.
16:12You know when you laugh, your little things that go bombty, bombty, bombty, bombty, bombty, bombty, bombty.
16:16Number 16, Scared Straight.
16:19This sketch from 2009 had no shortage of top-notch comedic talent.
16:22We caught these kids drinking beers behind Pathmark.
16:25Tracy Morgan, Kenan Thompson, Jason Sudeikis,
16:28Bill Hader, Andy Samberg, and Bobby Moynihan are all featured.
16:32And when that many funny people are in a room together,
16:34things are bound to get a little silly.
16:36The sketch saw Morgan and Thompson playing convicts,
16:44attempting to scare a trio of kids who are arrested for underage drinking.
16:47The only problem?
16:48They keep using the plots of popular movies to describe prison.
16:51All right.
16:58Want to learn your lesson?
16:59Thompson and Hader are the worst offenders in this one,
17:06but everyone cracks at one point or another.
17:09You try making it through without letting a smile creep across your face.
17:12Because this here is real.
17:14Number 15, Kissing Family.
17:17Featuring SNL legends Andy Samberg, Kristen Wiig, Fred Armisen, Bill Hader,
17:22Kate McKinnon, Maya Rudolph, and Taryn Killam, as well as Paul Rudd.
17:26This sketch is a blueprint for how to make A-list comedic talent break character.
17:35The Kissing Family is a recurring skit that involves an outsider being introduced to an overly affectionate family.
17:41In this instance, the outsider is played by Killam,
17:44and he is justifiably shocked to learn that his boyfriend's family kisses each other on the lips,
17:49among other things,
17:50with zero regard for anyone else's feelings.
17:53Matt's right.
17:54Sometimes we get so caught up in loving our own family,
17:56we forget about loving...
17:59Armisen cracks first, followed by Hader,
18:03but there are fissures of laughter peppered throughout the entire sketch.
18:06With this much talent in the room,
18:08it's no wonder this sketch devolved into a full-on break fest.
18:11Number 14, Family Feud Celebrity Edition,
18:21NBC vs. CBS
18:23As longtime friends and collaborators,
18:25it isn't exactly surprising to learn that Justin Timberlake does a mean Jimmy Fallon impression.
18:30So great, so great, celebrities playing games, nothing better, so fun!
18:33Am I right, man?
18:34He got to bust it out during a 2013 appearance on SNL,
18:39during a game of Celebrity Family Feud.
18:41And guess who was also playing?
18:43Jimmy Fallon.
18:45Jimmy Fallon!
18:46Are you kidding me?
18:47That is how it's done, my man!
18:49He's so great, am I right?
18:50Fallon, who is infamous for his inability to keep it together during sketches,
18:54was playing The Big Bang Theory's Jim Parsons.
18:56The two celebs went toe-to-toe right off the bat,
18:59and immediately had to turn away from the camera to hide their laughter.
19:02So many great answers.
19:04So many.
19:05They're so great.
19:07So great, my man.
19:10But Steve...
19:11Later, Timberlake's impression was so accurate,
19:15it caused Fallon to duck behind his podium,
19:17struck by a serious case of the giggles.
19:20So great, it's classic Fallon.
19:22Number 13, Frankenstein's Monster Cracks Up.
19:25The late, great Phil Hartman was a fixture on Saturday Night Live between 1986 and 1994.
19:31In that time, he portrayed a slew of iconic characters,
19:34not the least of which was his hilarious impression of Frankenstein's monster.
19:39Tonto?
19:40Bread good, Kemosabe.
19:42In this sketch, Frankenstein's monster, Tarzan, and Tonto
19:46are being asked what they think about things like fire and bread.
19:49This naturally leads to some hilarious responses from the three famously poor speakers.
19:56Fire, bread!
19:58We actually have to applaud Hartman for staying in character as long as he did.
20:03However, even the best break eventually.
20:05Well, that's all the time we have.
20:07Join us next week when we'll be talking with the cavemen from Quest for Fire.
20:16For Hartman, that moment came when he was asked how he felt about a recent nuclear arms treaty.
20:21This stuff never gets old.
20:23Number 12, Donnie's Party.
20:26Introduced in 1999, the Boston teens made regular appearances during the run of Jimmy Fallon and Rachel Dratch.
20:32I would be Gryffindor.
20:33You are Hufflepuff and you know it.
20:35You are.
20:38Known for their thick Boston accents and love of the Red Sox,
20:41as well as for constantly bickering and making up,
20:44the characters regularly caused others to bust a gut.
20:46Bro.
20:49Bro.
20:51Bro.
20:52One of the most infamous cases involved Boston boy Ben Affleck,
20:55who simply could not contain his laughter while at a party with the Boston teens.
20:59Watching him say bro over and over again while struggling to keep it together is priceless.
21:04Naturally, Fallon couldn't keep a straight face either.
21:07Number 11, Career Day.
21:09Adam Driver helped SNL kick off their 44th season
21:12with a handful of hilarious performances that all deserve their time in the spotlight.
21:16However, this list is about actors breaking character.
21:19So, we'll focus on just one.
21:22Career Day.
21:23Look at your father, boy.
21:26Look upon your father with pride.
21:28I see you, man.
21:29In the sketch, Driver plays an elderly and ruthless oil baron
21:33who visits his son's class for career day.
21:35Now what does an oil baron do?
21:38The answer?
21:40Crush your enemies!
21:41Grind that bones into dirt!
21:44Pete Davidson plays the son,
21:46and boy is he ever put through the ringer.
21:48Driver delivers a blistering performance,
21:50causing Davidson to break character on multiple occasions,
21:53including the first time he's addressed.
21:56I have licked you into the ground!
21:59I crushed you into the ground!
22:02From there, it's all downhill for the young actor,
22:05as Driver never once falters in his performance.
22:09Dad, come on!
22:10Number 10.
22:11Close Encounter.
22:12It was clear from the first minute of this sketch
22:14that host Ryan Gosling was not going to make it through
22:16without breaking character.
22:17I came to and saw a beautiful being
22:20made of like a beautiful, calming light.
22:23Yeah, same here.
22:25That being touched my head,
22:26and I felt every emotion in its purest form.
22:29After being abducted by aliens,
22:31Kate McKinnon, Cecily Strong, and Gosling
22:33each recount their experience with the extraterrestrials.
22:35I started peeing, and one of the gray aliens slapped the wall
22:39and pointed at the bowl.
22:42So I got the hint, I kind of duck-walked over the bowl, peed in it.
22:46Yes, I see.
22:47However, McKinnon's version differs wildly from the other two.
22:51So much so, in fact,
22:52that Gosling was basically stifling a laugh for the entire sketch.
22:56Strong, Bobby Moynihan, and Aidy Bryant all eventually broke,
22:59and even McKinnon had to repress a laugh at one point.
23:02Later in the episode,
23:03Gosling fell victim to a hilarious performance by Aidy Bryant,
23:06whose portrayal of a boundary-less teenager
23:08caused him to once again break character.
23:10Wow, I guess everyone knows how dirty I am.
23:14Do you like that, Mr. Dilham?
23:19Actually, no, I do not like that, okay?
23:22That's disgusting.
23:26Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph took a forgettable game show sketch
23:29and elevated it to new heights
23:31with their hilarious fake European accents.
23:33Show, Debra, what was in her showcase.
23:36Bad news, Debra.
23:36You didn't win his and hers
23:38matching luggage by luggage guy.
23:40But it's not luggage guy luggage.
23:41It's just a bunch of luggage from someplace.
23:43The two SNL alumni play off each other beautifully,
23:47though that means as soon as one breaks character,
23:49the other isn't far behind.
23:53You love golf.
23:54You love the next prize you didn't win.
23:56Things start to spiral out of control
23:58when the two women roll up in a golf cart.
24:00While Wiig immediately catches a case of the giggles,
24:03Rudolph manages to stay in character a little longer.
24:05You'll be a rough swinger with this.
24:07There's a guy's matching golf carts by golf carts.
24:11For?
24:17Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Bill Hader,
24:19who has to hide behind his hands to contain his laughter.
24:23The whole thing culminates with a still laughing wig
24:25crashing through the set in a golf cart.
24:27Seriously?
24:28How do they come up with this stuff?
24:29It's always time for two other prep-ups!
24:35Number 8.
24:37Lovas in the Hot Tub.
24:38Surprise, surprise.
24:40A sketch featuring Will Ferrell and Jimmy Fallon
24:42ended in multiple people breaking character.
24:44Barbara, what brings you to the prestigious well-jury arms?
24:48The usual, quiet strolls, family-style dining, archery.
24:54This iconic bit saw Ferrell and Rachel Dratch
24:56playing overly affectionate lovers soaking in a hot tub
24:59and trying to play matchmaker to Fallon and host Drew Barrymore.
25:02Dave.
25:04Dave.
25:06Dave.
25:08David.
25:10Well, as you can probably glean from Ferrell's ridiculous costume,
25:14it didn't take long before everybody was on the verge of a full-on meltdown.
25:18Barbara Hernandez.
25:21This is the top female archer in the Northeast Division.
25:26That's unbelievable.
25:28Tack on the fact that Ferrell later admitted that the goal was to, quote,
25:31make Jimmy Fallon laugh,
25:33and you have the recipe for a sketch that's guaranteed to have multiple broken characters.
25:37Need more proof that Ferrell is a character-breaking machine?
25:40Check out his short shorts for the USA clip.
25:43You are welcome.
25:44I guess what it all comes down to is that the angle of my dangle
25:49is inversely proportional to the heat of my meat, right?
25:56Number 7.
25:57Right to Extreme Stupidity.
25:59In this iconic sketch,
26:01SNL legend Gilda Radner and host Candice Bergen
26:03prove that breaking character is as easy as flubbing a single line of dialogue.
26:08You're not too bright, are you, Fern?
26:10I mean, whatever your name was.
26:15The slip-up occurs when Bergen accidentally refers to Radner as Fern,
26:19which is actually the name of Bergen's character.
26:22While Bergen attempts to rectify her mistake,
26:24Radner uses her trademark wit to destroy her,
26:27quipping,
26:27We all can't be brainy like Fern here.
26:33At this point,
26:33all pretense of finishing the sketches planned has gone out the window,
26:37as both women are dying of laughter.
26:40Extremely stupid people are discriminated against all the time.
26:44And I should know,
26:45and so should Fern,
26:46because we are.
26:47It's moments like this that make SNL so much fun to watch.
26:52Number 6.
26:53Happiest Place on Earth?
26:55Debbie Downer is one of the funniest characters in SNL's prestigious repertoire.
26:59Brilliantly brought to life by Rachel Dratch,
27:01Debbie can instantly transform any situation into a total bummer,
27:05for the other characters, that is.
27:06Roy of Siegfried and Roy?
27:09He was attacked by his own tiger and suffered devastating injuries.
27:15As far as the audience, cast members, and viewers at home are concerned,
27:23she is a riot.
27:24One of her most famous appearances occurred at Disney World,
27:27where she's somehow managed to ruin the happiest place on Earth
27:30with her depressing anecdotes.
27:32While Fallon breaks first,
27:33shocker,
27:34Dratch is not far behind.
27:36I can't have children!
27:41This inevitably caused the whole table to crack up.
27:44Horatio Sands cries,
27:45and Lindsay Lohan bangs the table in a fit of laughter.
27:48All the while,
27:49Dratch can barely keep it together.
27:52Number 5.
27:53Cork Soakers
27:54In this hilarious sketch from 2004,
27:56host-slash-musical guest Janet Jackson visits a winery,
28:00and learns how to soak corks from a group of Italian winemakers.
28:03The scene is littered with double entendres meant to have viewers in stitches.
28:08As you can see,
28:09we are soaking all the corks in this room right now.
28:12These three guys right here are some of the most talented corks soakers.
28:15However,
28:16as the writers probably assumed when they penned this side-splittingly funny sketch,
28:20it was the actors who were laughing harder than anyone.
28:22So how did you learn to soak corks?
28:28Soak corks.
28:29With giggles emanating from all corners of the set,
28:32Jackson can barely get her lines out,
28:34and honestly,
28:35we feel for her.
28:36So does your wife like soaking...
28:38Soaking corks?
28:42Well,
28:43she used to when we were dating.
28:44Now,
28:45not so much.
28:45However,
28:46the biggest surprise was that perpetual character breaker Jimmy Fallon stayed composed throughout the entire skit.
28:52Number 4.
28:53I live in a van down by the river.
28:56Few comedians are as revered as the late, great Chris Farley.
29:00He could make anyone break with his unique brand of physical humor,
29:03and often did.
29:04I am 35 years old,
29:07I am divorced,
29:09and I live in a van down by the river.
29:14While he has a slew of iconic SNL characters,
29:17you'd be hard-pressed to put any of them above Matt Foley,
29:19motivational speaker.
29:21Brian,
29:22from what I've heard,
29:24you're using your paper not for writing,
29:27but for rolling doobies.
29:30In the character's first Saturday Night Live appearance,
29:33Farley managed to break host Christina Applegate
29:35and SNL regular David Spade in seconds with his over-the-top performance,
29:39which included hoisting Spade into the air
29:42and warning the teens about ending up like him.
29:44He broke everyone else the moment he screamed,
29:47I'm sick and tired of living in a van down by the river!
29:52Number 3.
29:53Jeffries.
29:53In this 2001 sketch,
29:55host Sean Hayes joined Jimmy Fallon and Will Ferrell in their Jeffries sketch,
29:59which sees the three men playing retail workers at a high-end clothing store.
30:03Yeah, look, we don't carry diesel.
30:04We work at Jeffries.
30:06We read Italian Vogue.
30:07It's our deal.
30:08The gag involves them being extremely rude and condescending to customers
30:11who they deem unstylish.
30:13True to form,
30:15Fallon is laughing before the skit even begins.
30:17This is a genuine Looney Tunes jacket.
30:20Hayes breaks shortly thereafter and for the rest of the sketch,
30:30the two men can barely contain their laughter for more than a few seconds.
30:33Once Will Ferrell appears on a motorized wheelchair,
30:36this sketch is over and done with.
30:38We're going to the Dolce & Gabbana show.
30:40How fast can you have your bags packed for Mirage?
30:46I've got my Jack Speed bag packed already.
30:49Oddly enough,
30:50this isn't the first time a clothing-based sketch involving Horatio Sands and Jimmy Fallon
30:54devolved into one giant character break session.
30:56We give you The Leatherman.
30:58Oh, we treat the customers with...
31:01Featuring vets like Will Ferrell,
31:10Jimmy Fallon,
31:11Chris Kattan,
31:12Chris Parnell,
31:12and Horatio Sands,
31:14not to mention the indomitable Christopher Walken,
31:16More Cowbell is the stuff of sketch comedy legend
31:19and was so the second it began to air.
31:22Are you sure that was sounding okay?
31:23I'll be honest, fellas,
31:25it was sounding great,
31:25but I could have used a little more cowbell.
31:31The cast plays Blue Oyster Cult,
31:33while guest Walken portrays record producer Bruce Dickinson,
31:36a man who has a fever for more cowbell.
31:39Watching Ferrell gesticulate all over the room
31:41in a shirt that is way, way, way too small
31:43is absolutely side-splitting.
31:46I'd be doing myself a disservice
31:48and every member of this band
31:50if I didn't perform the hell out of this.
31:52Walken breaks,
31:53Kattan breaks,
31:54Sands breaks,
31:55Fallon breaks,
31:56even Ferrell breaks.
31:57In the pantheon of SNL's worst or best character breaks,
32:00this one takes the cake.
32:02Or as the case may be,
32:04the cowbell.

32:20Number 1.
32:21Stefan on Halloween.
32:23You all knew Stefan would be back at number 1.
32:26In this all-time moment,
32:28fan-favorite Stefan stops by Weekend Update
32:30to advise party-goers
32:31on where to find some not-so-family fun
32:34on Halloween.
32:35Located in an abandoned white fish factory
32:37in Little Israel.
32:39Bill Hader breaks character numerous times,
32:42something he'd replicate
32:43in an autumn-themed appearance
32:44a couple of years later.
32:45Needless to say,
32:46this place has everything.
32:48Skunks,
32:49K-Fobs,
32:50Cookie Crisp,
32:51Dan Cortez.
32:52As one YouTube commenter points out,
32:57it makes you wonder
32:57whether Hader developed
32:58Stefan's signature
32:59hand-over-mouth quirk
33:00as a way to hide his constant giggling.
33:03Well, they have a Jewish Dracula.
33:05Oh.
33:06What's his name?
33:07Sidney Applebaum.
33:11Throughout the clip,
33:12Hader finds himself unable to speak,
33:14overcome by laughter.
33:16And while Seth Meyers
33:17does his best to remain composed,
33:18he is far from invincible
33:20when it comes to keeping a straight face.
33:22You know you've come up
33:23with comedic gold
33:23when Hader is crying tears of laughter.
33:26Enjoy, folks.
