00:00Hello everyone. I thought I'd come on and show you a quick tutorial of how these
00:05arms actually work. I usually put them on in the morning to get ready and then
00:11for lunch and dinner and keep them on probably five or six hours a day right
00:15now. They are helpful but they're not the most comfortable so I'm glad I have
00:20them but this is how I use the elbow. So there's a white string over here and when
00:27I push back quickly like this the white string gets pulled and it unlocks the
00:34elbow so it can come down and then once I get it in the position I want it to be
00:39in I quickly push my elbow back again and it locks into place. When the elbow is
00:45locked I can open my hooks and you open the hooks by kind of leaning forward and
00:51doing like a Hulk like motion like that's how you open up the hooks and then you
00:57close them by relaxing. So if I want to pick up something that's kind of farther
01:02away I'll kind of push forward open it and then if I kind of lean my other
01:08shoulder back it can even kind of help close it out in space. To do the wrist
01:16rotation they've got a little magnet here on the inside of my arm and so I use my
01:23wheelchair right now to just push the tiny lever back it hooks to the magnet and
01:30stays and then my wrist can rotate when I push up and push down into my elbow area.
01:39To lock it back up I just push the magnet forward and it will lock into that
01:45position. Then my wrist rotation is this paddle they put this paddle on it's
01:51usually a little tiny piece of metal there but they made me a bigger paddle and I
01:57use my wheelchair to push the paddle forward and then my wrist can come in it
02:04can come in pretty far it can come in pretty far I can open it then to bring it
02:12back out again I push on the tab and I have to kind of relax and push forward and
02:17then it's in a straight position again. It took me a long time to figure out how to
02:23do the elbow motion and I've gotten pretty good at it so it looks pretty easy
02:28now but it's actually pretty tricky to figure out how to push back quickly and
02:33and to get it to lock but yeah that's the basics of how these arms work.
