00:00Welcome everyone to the August 3rd forecast. Glad to see you again.
00:04We will head towards France and the Grand Est region where the storms have been very powerful over the past 24 hours.
00:11Look at this very impressive cloud. It's an arcus.
00:15It is a roll-shaped cloud that occurs when cold air aloft collides with warm air.
00:21This was the case in recent days with these particularly intense storms due to a cold drop.
00:26which are still circulating, particularly in Scandinavia.
00:30And at the same time, the anticyclone is gradually swelling again over the west of the continent.
00:34with temperatures that will be increasingly warmer across the Iberian Peninsula.
00:38So for the next few hours, we have a disturbance coming into the British Isles.
00:43A sky that is filling up in front, already beautiful clearings in the back.
00:4623 degrees in London is still a bit cold for the season.
00:50Beautiful sunny spells in the Benelux in the morning. Afterwards, it will deteriorate with a few showers.
00:54We find a slightly cloudier sky north of the Seine in France.
00:58And the further south we go, the more sun there will be, with wind in the Mediterranean.
01:03So we are always monitoring the risk of forest fires.
01:06A sky that looks generally quite mixed over Switzerland and Germany.
01:09Temperatures below seasonal averages by 5 degrees.
01:12While the values are generally milder in northern Scandinavia.
01:17This is not the case in the southern part with these locally quite strong thunderstorms,
01:22especially in Poland. While in the Netherlands, Ukraine and Russia, the weather is rather mild.
01:27We find very summery and very hot conditions.
01:31Very hot weather around the Balkans.
01:33Southern Romania, Bulgaria, going down towards Croatia in particular.
01:37It could turn into a storm by the end of the day.
01:39In Greece, too, there is omnipresent sunshine with very high temperatures.
01:44It is a little more unstable and stormy, especially in southern Turkey.
01:48And on the Italian side, there too, temperatures are summery with even strong heat going down, particularly towards Puglia.
01:56During the day, we can have thunderstorms due to the evolution of the urn.
01:59And on the Iberian Peninsula, the heat wave is starting, with temperatures reaching 40-42 degrees in southern Spain.
02:07And this heat wave could continue throughout the week with local extreme highs of up to 45 degrees.
02:14On the Japanese side, there is also a temperature anomaly with this mass of hot air.
02:20Temperatures have been well above seasonal averages in Japan for several days now.
02:24This will continue for the next few days.
02:26We are again expecting peaks of up to 40 degrees very locally with a very high humidity level.
02:32Thank you all.
