00:00Today search operations were completed at the site of the Russian strike on Kiev, a regular
00:05residential building, a direct hit.
00:08The missile killed 28 people there.
00:10In total 31 were killed in the city by that strike, including 5 children.
00:15The children were born in 2007, 2011, 2014, 2018 and even 2022.
00:24My condolences to their families and loved ones.
00:27This was one of the most brutal Russian attacks on Kiev.
00:31A total of 159 people were injured.
00:34Ordinary residential buildings, businesses and even one of Kiev's mosques were hit.
00:40There was no military purpose.
00:43Many around the world have expressed support for Ukraine and condemned Russian terror, their
00:47strikes and Russia's refusal to end the war.
00:51Ceasefire proposals have been on the table for a long time.
00:55Ukrainian proposals, American proposals and many others globally have raised this with
01:01Russia.
01:02Each time the only response is an attempt to buy more time for war, more time for terror.
01:09That's the only way Russia operates.
01:11And now, the prospect of new and strong sanctions, not only against the aggressor state itself,
01:17has begun to pressure Russia.
01:19Every Russian financial flow, every scheme that fills the Russian budget, must become a
01:24global target.
01:26Only this will persuade Moscow to work toward peace.
01:31Ukraine is grateful to the United States of America, to Europe and to all our friends
01:36around the world who seek peace.
01:40Ukraine is ready to act as quickly as possible for the sake of peace.
01:44We all clearly understand what steps are needed.
01:46We know who in Russia has the authority to make decisions.
01:50That is why Ukraine is once again proposing to move beyond technical-level discussions,
01:55beyond mere exchanges of statements, and to actually meet at the level of leaders.
02:01I want to thank President Trump for his willingness to engage in such a meeting.
02:05I am grateful to everyone who supports this.
02:08What's needed now is Russia's readiness.
02:11The head of the presidential office, the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council,
02:16and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, will continue communications with our partners on this
02:21matter.
