Kemi Badenoch says she no longer considers herself Nigerian
Transcript
00:00I have not renewed my Nigerian passport, I think, not since the early 2000s.
00:08It's just, I don't identify with it anymore.
00:12Most of my life has been in the UK, and I just never felt a need to.
00:17So when I go there, when my dad died, I had to get a visa to go to Nigeria,
00:23which is all a big Fandango.
00:24And because I am Nigerian through ancestry, despite not being born there,
00:30because of my parents, yes, I am.
00:33But by identity, I'm not really.
00:37I know the country very well.
00:38I have a lot of family there, and I'm very interested in what happens there.
00:42But home is where my now family is.
00:46And my now family is my children.
00:48It's my husband, my brother, and his children, and in-laws.
00:54And the Conservative Party is very much part of my family, my extended family, I call it.
