00:22include some shoutouts to newer series. 10. Sakamoto Days

00:34Fans of the source material may have their grievances but there's no denying the antics of this retired

00:39hitman have made for a solid watch, especially for us action junkies.

00:44Despite leaving the killing life behind him, Sakamoto is pulled back in when assassins start

01:06coming out of the woodwork, dead set on ending him. In spite of putting on a few pounds and

01:11starting a family, Sakamoto is no less of a beast. With an endearing supporting cast, splendid

01:24fights and some great gags, even if it falls short of pique, it's still worth checking

01:29out for yourself.

01:349. Witch Watch

01:59A romantic comedy from the mad lad behind Sket Dance was always going to be a winner when

02:07it came to making us laugh. We just didn't expect it to be so cute.

02:11As a newly fledged witch eager to help out, Niko's spells, more often than not, bring more calamity

02:38stability, which proves to be a major headache for her bodyguard-slash-childhood friend-slash-love

02:45interest Morihito, who also happens to be an ogre. It's a melting pot of tropes, teasing

02:51and surprisingly wholesome moments, and one we're happy to see has thrived.

02:567. Apocalypse Hotel

02:58Well, nothing but a lot of fun. It's just not a formula. It's part of a震ent

03:01idea of a tron of a vampire-slash-like mystery to its own.

03:068. Apocalypse Hotel

03:09Possibly the biggest surprise of the year, the last thing we had on our bingo cards was

03:22a beautifully animated post-apocalyptic slice of life teeming with dark comedy, all taking

03:29place in a hotel run by robots.

03:48After the planet becomes inhospitable, humanity makes a break for the stars, leaving the android

03:53staff of the Gingaro Hotel to continue maintenance until their return. As the centuries pass,

03:59the hotel finds itself catering to more intergalactic clientele, including a family of alien tanuki.

04:07Weird and wonderful in equal measure, it's not the first time that PSY Games have dropped

04:11a banger this year.

04:17Number 7, Fire Force Season 3. Coming in hot once again, Shinra's return to the shounen forefront

04:45was well worth the wait, and now it seems like we're approaching the endgame.

04:55Framed by the white-clad, Company 8 are forced to go on the run, all the while trying to stop

05:01the cult of flame-obsessed psychos from turning their world into a second sun.

05:07Though, now they've got the strongest Fire Force commander in history under the Evangelist

05:24Command, that's easier said than done. While we won't get the grand finale until next year,

05:30what's on offer is a burning bonanza not to be missed.

05:40Number 6, Dr. Science Future.

05:43Leaving the Stone Age behind and heading right towards the Space Age, Senku and the rest of

05:49his fellow would-be scientists have never been closer to undoing the petrification that put

05:54civilization on pause.

06:12But as always, there's a new obstacle in their way, and his name is Dr. Zeno. Just as smart

06:18and twice as ruthless, Zeno serves as the perfect foil for Senku's idealistic view on science

06:24with his own callous calculations.

06:34As the technology between the two factions continues to flourish, the battle of wits becomes all

06:43the deadlier. As far as final arcs go, this one is top of the class.

06:53Anime and figure skating have already proven themselves to be an unrivaled power dynamic.

06:59But even then, what Medalist has accomplished not only in terms of visual splendor, but sheer emotional

07:05impact is astounding.

07:11When a former skater well past his prime sees potential in a gifted, yet overly anxious girl,

07:17the two partner up with the goal of turning her into a professional on the ice.

07:26Calling it heartfelt would be doing it a disservice, as Inori's struggles and success are bound to

07:32turn even the most stone-faced viewer into a bubbling wreck.

07:51Uma Musume – Cinderella Grey

07:56It's a horse girl's world now, and we're just living in it.

07:59If you're not familiar with this gacha phenomenon, Uma Musume has been dominating the conversation

08:06thanks to a combination of cute waifus and the thrill of seeing them compete in races.

08:11We're still being onward.

08:28They also channel the speed force with some of this year's wildest animation.

08:32Cinderella Grey is their latest attempt at an anime adaptation, and it might be the best

08:38to date.

08:44We never thought seeing an anime girl with horse appendages going god mode would be this

08:49exciting to watch.

08:50But this latest season has proven us resoundingly wrong.

08:54Psy games are really killing it in the anime department.

08:59Mobile Suit Gundam G-Quacks

09:03Any time a new Gundam series drops, it's a huge cultural event for anime fans.

09:08And G-Quacks was no different.

09:10With Kara taking the reins this time around, every week got bombshell after bombshell in

09:15lore drops, coupled with some of the best action the mecha genre has seen in years.

09:22The use of music in the series was masterful, you're practically guaranteed to get chills

09:28from some of the needle drops.

09:29Really, our only complaint was that it was too short.

09:33Again though, we do not recommend jumping on this one if you haven't watched the original

09:37series because, simply put, you're gonna get filtered.

09:51Solo Leveling Season 2

09:57Following on from his reawakening, Jino's rise from the weakest to strongest hunter in existence

10:19quickly established itself as THE anime power fantasy.

10:23Thanks to his newly inherited ability to create shadowy minions from his conquered foes, it

10:28wasn't long before every battle in this series became an exercise in aura farming, especially

10:34with animation this flashy.

10:45You'd think after seeing every fight become a one-sided slaughterfest, it would make for

10:49a boring watch.

10:50But between the continued power creep of every foe, thrown Jino's way, along with every boss

10:56monster turning into a potential summon, the excitement for this series has yet to fade.

13:21and her second coming has only strengthened that admiration.

13:37Mau Mau's mental fortitude is once again part of the test.

13:41The only thing more compelling than the political intrigue being her budding relationship

13:45with the rear palace's many courtesans, along with the ever-mysterious, ever-entrancing Jinji.
