WATCH: NSW Police Minister Yasmin Catley speaks in Blayney
Transcript
00:00It's a great day today. We're here obviously to open the Blaney Police Station which has had a significant upgrade.
00:08The government has invested more than $2 million on this upgrade, which I've just had the grand tour.
00:14It has really made this station a fit for purpose police station for our wonderful police here in the Midwest.
00:23This front counter used to be about another 10 metres that way.
00:30They used to have to jump the front counter and come out the front door.
00:34Do you have a glass for plastic and stuff?
00:36No, that's an upgrade for security so the police are more secure.
00:40There's a CCT camera now, just having a good view of everything that's going on.
00:53We've got the internal over there, so speak to people.
01:00And also we've got the, what do we call that?
01:11The van dock.
01:12The van dock, yes.
01:13I know, I know.
01:18I know.
01:19I know, I know.
01:20Yeah.
01:21They're based at all.
01:22And this is one of our half of the real competition too.
01:25Just a few of the tools that we've got here.
01:28We'll have a look at the tools.
01:31Most of the spread is Ken.
01:33We've ate in that.
01:35This one might be a little bit different than anyone's seen.
01:38So that's a DNA applicator and a DNA robot.
01:41We use some soft tissue in sheep predominantly.
01:45We can use them in other things.
01:48So tell me your circumstance where you can use that.
01:50So a livestock theft investigation.
01:55They claim they're theirs.
01:57They claim they're theirs.
01:58And we can't quite get over the evidence or something like that.
02:02So we'll go and take the DNA off the stock that we've got.
02:06And we then can compare it to a ram or some other stock that they've got to compare it to.
02:13So that's really cool.
02:14And cattle we can just rip and tell it is and stuff like that.
02:17And send that away.
02:18Send that away.
