At once surreal and urgent, The Man Who Saves the World? follows eccentric peace activist Patrick McCollum as he’s drawn into an ancient Indigenous prophecy that may determine the future of the Amazon—and the fate of life on Earth. What begins as a curiosity quickly transforms into something far stranger and with higher stakes, as Polsky finds himself swept into a world where belief shapes reality, and nothing is what it seems.
Championed by an unlikely team of comedic visionaries—Danny McBride, David Gordon Green, and Jody Hill of Rough House Pictures and Academy Award-winner Peter Farrelly, this mind-bending documentary pushes the boundaries of genre and sanity delivering a one-of-a-kind cinematic trip.

00:00All things that we believe are a story.
00:08I'm Gabe Polsky. I make movies.
00:11And this is the story of a bizarre journey I took with Patrick McCollum,
00:15a guy who may save us all.
00:17My very first war that I ever stopped was in Africa.
00:22He's lived a hundred lives as a peacemaker.
00:26Helping people all over the planet.
00:27A kung fu master, a prison chaplain to famous serial killers.
00:32Charles Manson, the Menendez brothers.
00:35And he knows how to do just about anything.
00:38I feel everything you see here, it's all up to code, right?
00:43But this was entirely different.
00:46He found himself at the very center of an ancient prophecy.
00:52The prophecy says there will be a man
00:54and he will unite all the indigenous people of the Amazon.
00:59The rest of it unfolds from that.
01:01Patrick, he's not in San Francisco.
01:04I didn't realize I'm talking that loud.
01:07This all seemed unreal to me.
01:10The Amazon will go down.
01:13And many people will die.
01:15This is very real. I'm going to have to do this.
01:17Is the prophecy real?
01:19He is probably the most extraordinary person I've met.
01:31I traveled across the globe in search of answers.
01:34Unite humanity. Restore Mother Earth.
01:37It's so hard for me to conceive.
01:38Well, you must be blind because we are at the place I told you we would be.
01:43Had I gone too far?
01:48He's got this inner conviction which will affect the future of all of us.
01:53One of the hardest things in life is knowing what story to believe.
01:57In 1965, I was pronounced dead.
02:00God said, I want you to serve me.
02:02I can only see the top of your face.
02:05But so many of the things were actually happening.
02:14Papi, you're a messenger.
02:17Let's go!
