Нет, на видео показаны не протесты против Зеленского

На неправильно прокомментированном видео показан протест против противоречивого антикоррупционного закона, от которого Зеленский впоследствии отказался, а не демонстрация против самого президента "за отказ заключить мир с Россией"

00:00This video doesn't show an anti-Zelenskyй protest
00:03over his refusal to sign peace with Russia.
00:09High-profile figures are sharing a video on social media
00:12that they claim shows Ukrainians gathering to protest
00:15against President Volodymyr Zelenskyy
00:17and his handling of Russia's war against their country.
00:20For example, Marjorie Taylor Greene, a far-right US representative,
00:25posted the video on X,
00:26stating that huge protests had erupted in Kyiv
00:29against Zelenskyy because, quote,
00:31he's a dictator and refuses to make peace with Moscow.
00:35Her post has 4 million views as of the time of recording,
00:38with tens of thousands of shares and likes.
00:41This is concerning because each of her claims is categorically false.
00:45To begin with, a reverse image search of stills from the video
00:48shows us its true nature.
00:50It directs us to numerous legitimate news reports showing that,
00:53yes, while the protests are recent and took place in Kyiv,
00:58they weren't against Zelenskyy.
01:00They were actually in opposition to a contentious law
01:02that weakened Ukraine's anti-corruption watchdogs.
01:05Critics argued that it effectively compromised the independence
01:08of the country's National Anti-Corruption Bureau
01:11and the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office,
01:13as they would become dependent on the politically-appointed
01:16Prosecutor General.
01:17The move sparked protests across the country,
01:20but Zelenskyy has since backtracked in response to the protests
01:23and submitted a new draft bill to reinstate the agency's freedom.
01:27As for Marjorie Taylor Greene's claim that Zelenskyy is a dictator,
01:31this is completely baseless and has been debunked numerous times.
01:35Zelenskyy was democratically elected with a significant majority,
01:38and Ukraine is now under martial law due to Russia's invasion,
01:42prohibiting elections.
01:43Additionally, Zelenskyy has never rejected peace with Russia.
01:47Instead, he's consistently sought peace talks with Moscow,
01:50but pushed back against what he says are unreasonable demands
01:53that undermine Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
