00:00All right, Hi people, she's here and I'm here to do finally an unboxing and not really review,
00:08but like comparison, I guess, uh, for the Switch 2. I'm going to be comparing it to the Switch 1
00:13in terms of a lot of the different things, um, it comes with in terms of like design sizes and
00:20all that stuff. Um, but yeah, did not get this when it originally came out. That was a month
00:28ago at this, this, uh, when I'm recording this, a month and like a couple weeks prior. Um, yeah,
00:35a month and two weeks exactly. Um, pretty much because this is July 19th. Dated the video instantly.
00:42That's fine, no? Um, but yeah, so yeah, mainly because I just didn't have the extra money to
00:50pre-order it when it went live. On top of that, they did not have the pre-orders open on Amazon
00:57for some reason. Apparently, uh, from what I've heard, it's probably because, uh, Amazon started
01:03shipping units of the original Switch like a week or two early. And then that happened with this
01:11from Target. Granted, they had a security thing in it that, um, didn't allow it to do most of the
01:19features without the day one update. But still, um, people were still able to get into the, uh,
01:26the Switch 2 and everything to do like early leak previews and all that stuff. But yeah. Um,
01:34so yeah, I have not really played my original Switch 2 too much, uh, before this last year.
01:40And that's just mainly because I've been focused on my other game consoles and other games and all
01:44that. Plan on, I'm planning on changing that. But yeah. Um, yeah, and I decided to get this.
01:51I waited about, I think, a year or two, um, after the original Switch came out to get one. And that's
01:57mainly because, like, I just wasn't interested in it at the, at the start of it. Then when they,
02:02I think I got that one too, when they released the variant with slightly better battery life,
02:08I got it then. I did not care to get an OLED model. I did not care to get the port, the, uh,
02:13Switch Lite either. Um, but yeah, this is not an OLED model. This just has a similar screen to the
02:20original Switch. They'll probably come out with an OLED redesign in a year or two. They'll probably
02:25come out with a Lite version in a year or two as well. Um, but we'll see what happens. So yeah. So
02:34finally getting into the actual box. I haven't opened this yet. I got it out of the, uh, the packaging
02:42box, but I just have not opened this one yet. On the front, you got the, uh, Joy-Con design right
02:48here. It says 2 Nintendo Switch. And then you have the design right there, which is really cool. Um,
02:55I do like the Slay redesign of the original Switch. They obviously went with a black model. I got the
03:01original gray model. Um, you guys can watch that video for all the, um, all the details and
03:09everything, but here's the, uh, the Joy-Cons. I have these attached because I have been using the
03:13Zelda, uh, Skyward Sword, uh, Joy-Cons. So yeah. Ever since I got those a few years ago.
03:23But yeah, so they just went with an all black design. They have the different colors on the
03:27inside there, uh, as well as around the bottom of where the, uh, joysticks are. But yeah, and that's
03:36actually pretty cool. I like that. Um, but yeah, but otherwise, as far as I can remember, this is
03:42the same exact sort of design as the original Switch. I guess they're thinking if it ain't broke,
03:46don't fix it. And yeah, I don't have the box for the original Switch only because I don't know if I
03:53still have it. And if I do, I don't know where it is. So yeah. Um, so on the, on the, uh, spine here
04:03side, you got the Switch 2 logo, Switch 2 and someone's hands right there. So yeah. On the other
04:10side, you have two people playing, uh, the Switch with a new kickstand and everything. I like how it
04:15shows off the differences immediately with the original Switch. On top, you get the Nintendo logo.
04:22On the bottom, you get what this comes with, um, and what number corresponds to on this list. So the
04:31Switch, um, screen tablet itself to Joy-Cons, um, what is this? Uh, the AC adapter, the USB cable,
04:45which is USB-C, the dock, the grip for the Joy-Cons, the things for the Joy-Cons if you don't want to
04:54use the dock and the HDMI cable. So yeah, it has it in English, Spanish, and French, I'm assuming.
05:01Yeah. Or English, French, and Spanish. But yeah, HDMI takes microSD express cards rather than the
05:10original microSD. One thing I, okay, so I understand why it takes the microSD express cards instead of
05:17just the microSD cards. Why can we not just use the microSD cards for, like, original Switch stuff?
05:24I don't really understand that, because Microsoft and Sony allow for external hard drives that are not
05:30SSDs. So, I don't know. So then on the back to here, you have the Switch 2 and be either being taken
05:39out of or being put in a, uh, the dock, which is pretty cool. So yeah, that's just, yeah, it's pretty
05:47good. Um, there we go. It's opening. This, there's no tape anywhere, which is nice. So here we go.
05:55Granted, in the store there might be tape over this, so I don't know. I ordered this online, so.
06:01So here we go. You have the tablet and the two Joy-Cons, which already look good, although I don't know
06:08why there's, like, stuff in it. This looks like, it's not dust, it's, either, it's, like, I don't know,
06:18um, just weirdness from when they packaged it. Um, so here we go, with the tablet on the back,
06:28Switch 2. I like the new kickstand design. It's a lot better than the original. The original wasn't bad,
06:33it just needed, or it, this is just better. Um, so yeah, so you have this. I'm trying to angle it
06:43so you don't see me. Um, that's pretty cool. This, ah, okay. So, I haven't actually seen it properly
06:56to convey how hard it is to move this, um, stand from other people's videos. It is decently hard,
07:04like, you actually have, this is me slightly pushing on it, you actually have to put an okay
07:09amount of, like, pressure on the stand to move it. That's, that's nice. The original stand you just,
07:20or the stand on the original Switch you just pull out, and I'll show that in a second.
07:23So, yeah. Then you got the slot for games and everything. So, yeah. So, to compare to the
07:32original Switch I have, yeah, you just do that. It's not great. It's also plastic, where is this,
07:42uh, is this plastic? Yeah, it is plastic, but it feels a bit more sturdy. And on top of that,
07:48for the original Switch, uh, this is where you put in the microSD card underneath the kickstand,
07:53which is fine. Um, but not great. Uh, under here, that's where you put the microSD express card,
08:04which is pretty okay. So, here's the difference in terms of size. It's slightly longer,
08:11wider, and then slightly wider, in terms of, like, the base design, or the base size for these things.
08:23Um, which is pretty good. Uh, now I'm seeing this, there's a barcode right there on the bottom of the
08:29original Switch. This does not have that. Um, this just has the dock, uh, USB-C thing, and then the fan
08:39slash speakers, and all that, and about the top. Uh, okay. Oh, wait, that, bombs or fans, I think that
08:46these are speakers. Roughly the same setup, it's just some things have been rearranged.
08:50So, yeah. Not bad. Not bad. Um, so here we go with the Joy-Cons.
09:05So, yeah. So, the left Joy-Con, compared with the original, a little bit bigger, a little bit
09:12wider, wider, maybe? Actually, no. Actually, yeah. Roughly the same, like, that way. Not axis. Sorry.
09:23Ah. I'm having my, uh,
09:29Xbox search for game updates, because I just got home. But, yeah. The backs, roughly the same. Pretty
09:37much the same printing here, minus a few things being different. And, obviously, the color being
09:42different. Um. Yeah, I'm not gonna lie, like. Oh, right, right. For now, there's a pull thing
09:58right here that's supposed to tighten that. So, yeah. So, roughly the same design there. The
10:06buttons are just a little bit bigger. I think they really went into designing this more with
10:12a sort of worldwide audience, rather than just Japan. Um. Because in Japan, a lot of things are
10:18generally smaller in terms of electronics. So, yeah. Not only, actually, not only in terms of
10:24electronics, but a lot of things. Because, like, I think Japanese people, I don't know. Maybe,
10:29maybe they don't. I don't know. Maybe, maybe they just, well, for one, they need things a bit more
10:33compact, just because of how things are in their society. But then, also, maybe they have slightly
10:38smaller hands. I don't know. But, also, maybe this was more focused towards kids. But, yeah. Um.
10:47So, I'll get the other Joy-Con.
10:51So. Right Joy-Con. Again, a bit taller. I think this, or actually, no. It's slightly wider this way.
10:59Um. Looks like same width this way, though. So, yeah. I do like the subtleness of the different
11:09colors. Um. Being on the sides of the Joy-Cons and, uh, and under the joysticks. I like that a lot
11:18better than how the original Switch had. Now, I have the gray Switch, um, Joy-Cons, because that's the one
11:24I got. I did not really care for the Joy-Cons that were red and blue. Um. I thought it was maybe
11:32just a bit too loud and colorful. This is much better. This is more subtle. And I like it a lot
11:36better. So. Yeah. So, what is. Okay. So, there's a thing under here. Okay. So, this is actually
11:45pretty good. They're pretty smart with how they designed the packaging. So, these are the things
11:48that go around the, uh, ends of the Joy-Cons. So, to compare these to these, they're more thin,
12:05obviously. They don't have buttons on them. I think these are small magnets. Um. They don't
12:16have a sliding mechanism anymore, because the, these Joy-Cons do not have that. Because
12:21they just click into the Switch and everything. So, yeah. So, let's see. Ah. So, it is this
12:32way. Okay. So, you, you plug it in on the bottom. Snap it in on the top. That's pretty good.
12:43I like that. Um. It's pretty good in terms of design. And this is the release
12:48lever. Ah. Okay. So, the release lever pushes it out. You have this little thing
12:54that shows that, that peg has pushed it out. I like that. I like that. And the other
13:04one. Honestly, really good. I like it. Yep. Simple redesign that I like. Here's the HDMI
13:19cable. I think it's probably roughly the same length as the HDMI cable for the dock of the
13:28original Switch. Like, I think it's like 6 feet. Roughly. Um. I think, I'm pretty sure at least.
13:44Like, generally, that's how long I've been at these things. If it's not like, 10 feet.
13:54It's like it's plugged into the Switch. The original Switch dock.
13:58Alright. So, this is the one from the new one. This is the one from the original. You can tell
14:03because this one's darker than this. This is just a gray. Like a dark gray versus this one,
14:07which is completely black. You can also tell because there's these ridges here on the original
14:12one, whereas this one is smooth. Yep. Roughly the same length. Basically. Or, just about the same
14:20length. And this looks like 3 to 6 feet. So, yeah. Doing a pretty good job of not breaking what doesn't
14:32need fixing. Here we go. So, here's the thing. I don't have that from the original Switch, but this
14:39is roughly the same design. Probably just a little bigger to accommodate the bigger Joy-Cons.
14:51Ooh. That is nice.
14:55Yes. There's a magnet. There's a magnet in here. There's metal around here. So, it just pulls it in
15:04when you go to snap it in.
15:09I'm liking this so far. They improved upon basically a lot of things in terms of everything.
15:15This also just feels better to hold in my hands versus the smaller one from the original Switch.
15:23I did not care for that at all. That's why, if you watch any gameplay that I've had for the last,
15:32however long, last, like, six years going on, um, I've always played these, any Switch games that I've
15:40had with, like, a GameCube controller, or that I've played on my gaming channel with a GameCube controller,
15:47because, like, they have the GameCube docks or, or adapters, and then they have the GameCube,
15:54they have the Smash GameCube controllers. So, yeah. Plus, the GameCube controllers are still
16:01my all-time favorite controllers for any console ever. Um, followed, followed very closely by the
16:09Xbox Elite Series 2 controller and then the DualSense. Um, those are good controllers.
16:13DualSense could be more than plastic, but, you know, but at least it's not as flimsy as the DualShock 4.
16:22Um, yeah. So here we go with the, um,
16:29USB-C cable that is used to bring power to the Switch dock for when you plug the Switch in.
16:39Um, so yeah. And the good thing is, it's separate from
16:51the power brick that you plug it into for power. This is more, this is more similar to a, um,
17:01phone charger than the original Switch one, which, to show you guys, was just this. This isn't bad,
17:09um, but in case if the, uh, uh, or the USB-C cable breaks somehow, you're shit out of luck.
17:18So here we go. I like this. This is good. This is more akin to Apple's kind of design,
17:25where I've had a charge cable for my, uh, MacBook, um,
17:32that uses the power brick, and I've had to need to replace the USB-C cables multiple times.
17:40So, yeah. So, the last thing that's in the box, here we go. The dock.
17:48And I like this. Already, it is, obviously, just like with everything with this, slightly bigger
17:58than the original Switch dock. Same rough color, although, uh, the, it's not as, like,
18:06actually, no. Okay, so it's the same, like, slightly rough texture, but slightly more matted.
18:12It's mostly just obvious in the logo. Bottom is different to have vents for the fans, whereas this
18:21doesn't have those spots, or the sides. Backs, same design philosophy, just different.
18:33The other side's roughly the same in terms of layout. Two USB ports. So, yeah.
18:39And we got the inside, here. This, I kind of wish it was still connected to this, rather than, um,
18:52rather than, you know, just not, but I kind of understand it. So, you have the AC adapter port,
18:58right there. The HDMI out, right there. This is for a LAN cable. Um, so yeah, I'm assuming that's the same,
19:07or there's the same thing here for that LAN cable adapter, cable port. No. In the original Switch,
19:16there is not one. Right, they had, you had to have an adapter for that, because they released it for,
19:22uh, Smash Bros. online play, because they knew that the Wi-Fi adapter and their own Wi-Fi service
19:30sucks so much ass that you needed something to improve it. But yeah, you can see, you can see just
19:38the whole difference here, in terms of this shit.
19:42And, uh, the HDMI out is higher to accommodate where the LAN cable is. There's no USB port in here,
19:54which kind of sucks. You don't have a third one, but, eh. Still have the ones on the side. Mainly,
20:00I'm just saying that because, as someone who uses the GameCube controller adapters, you kind of need,
20:06uh, um, if you want to do, like, A-player Smash, granted, you can still do that with two USB ports,
20:13it's just that you won't have rumble support if you use two of those at once. But, yeah. So,
20:19we basically have all this shit, um, and this is honestly really good. I am very,
20:31very impressed, right? There's a health and safety information usage guide thing in multiple languages,
20:37I'm assuming. Um, so, yeah. Uh, this one is normal. I'm just putting everything here so that...
20:51Huh. Can you? Huh, that's funny. If you want to mix up the colors of these things, you can.
21:01Right, because there's these on both sides. That's actually pretty cool. Once they come out with, like,
21:07um, different ones. For the Joy-Cons, that'll be interesting.
21:21Uh, sorry guys. Just putting everything in a nice sort of fashion. But, uh,
21:34uh, yeah, let me, uh, close this box.
21:41Oh, I didn't even see that. Okay. So, on the inside here, there's a setup,
21:45uh, plug it in and setup diagram thing of what to do if you don't already know. Say if you're a kid,
21:53and you don't, uh, and this is, like, maybe one of your first consoles,
21:57and you don't know what to do. Handy, uh, diagram. So, yeah. So, that is basically it for the unboxing
22:07portion of this. So, yeah. Gonna transition to going into the setup. So, yeah. All right, guys. So,
22:20back here for part two of the video, where we start up the Nintendo Switch 2. I have my original
22:28Switch right here, because I'm going to transfer all the data to it. So, yeah. Since I have my Switch
22:342, I don't really need the original Switch, so I plan on selling it off. I'm not keeping the Joy-Cons,
22:39but, yeah. So, here we go. Uh, snap these in, which is pretty cool. Then, I'm gonna plug
22:50it in. I, I plugged this into that. I love the size of this screen. Looks so much better.
23:03All right.
23:14Okay. English, US. America's.
23:20I have to connect to the Wi-Fi. Hold on, guys. I should have done this beforehand.
23:40I need to enter Wi-Fi password.
23:50All right.
24:12All right.
24:13I'm fuckin'
24:26time zone.
24:35What's that?
24:48What's that?
25:04Let me, uh...
25:07just so I can do this. And then, let me, uh, get into my...
25:15OG Switch.
25:21Because, when you do this, if you have it updated to the latest
25:26system software...
25:27one of this system transfer to Switch to. I will do that in a moment. Six minutes.
25:37Hm.
25:37All right.
26:03All right.
26:03I'll flip a bit.
26:13And, uh, stop my Xbox from doing it.
26:18And I'll date some of it.
26:19Start system transfer.
26:38Skip.
26:39All right.
26:55Okay.
26:56Okay, I can't do that.
26:58Other methods...
26:59Hold on one second.
27:07All right.
27:07I needed to pause the reporting so I could use my authenticator code on my
27:11authenticator app to sign in.
27:14Okay, so...
27:27Done.
27:32Okay, so...
27:41Start download.
28:03Start download.
28:03Yeah.
28:15I remember when transferring all the save data I had from...
28:18My original Wii...
28:19And all the Miis and all that shit.
28:21From the original...
28:22From my Wii to my Wii U.
28:26Years ago, after I got the Wii U.
28:27Um...
28:30That was...
28:30Interesting.
28:31Granted, you have to do it onto an SD card.
28:34Um...
28:36But...
28:36It was a similar process to this.
28:39I don't really feel better in my hands than the original Wii cons.
28:59They also just don't feel as flimsy.
29:02Okay.
29:03It's also gonna load, um...
29:23Um...
29:25My...
29:26The, uh...
29:28The thing...
29:29The, um...
29:33The home...
29:35As a, uh...
29:37Or as I had it on my...
29:40Original Switch.
29:41Okay.
29:51Okay.
29:59Okay.
30:00and there we go it's downloading all the digital only games that I had as all my
30:22groups which is good he shop I want to download the GameCube emulator app
30:39okay
30:52it's probably more I'm going to use the fucking App again
31:12yep one second okay so I just use the authenticator app which yeah
31:22um so let's search
31:40for some reason I understand why you can't download it but for some reason you can't even fucking
31:44um just have this bot and links to your like account
31:57um whatever so I'm gonna test out some games for a second for like probably just a minute
32:07so Pokemon Brilliant Diamond
32:11could I fly in this? huh
32:29hold on a minute
32:38hold on a minute
32:52um all right everybody so it took a little over an hour if I can keep that but I also took a shower so
33:01yeah but um yeah I had to download the update data for Brilliant Diamond so that I can just go into the game
33:12uh but yeah it's transferred the save data from my original Switch to it I don't know why the Pokemon games
33:27are um
33:32like they don't save they don't do cloud saves but
33:35yeah and they they do play straight from the um the carts
33:44so yeah if you're wondering what I was doing
33:49all this shit
33:52I was catching um
33:57a bunch of different shiny Pokemon which you know
33:59to which I I was hunting I was trying to hunt Sneasels
34:06but I ended up catching a bunch of shiny Snow Runts
34:09the shit just kept giving me that
34:12but yeah
34:14so
34:17yeah so that's that's good
34:19um the resolu
34:20so when it comes to games
34:22uh even if they're unpatched they should run better if they have performance issues on the original Switch
34:28um they will not be at a higher resolution than they were programmed to be on the original Switch
34:33they will also not be at a higher frame rate than they were programmed to be on the original Switch
34:39they need updates to be able to do that so if you're if for instance Brilliant Diamond
34:44it was programmed to be at like I think almost 1080p and 30fps unless that the Pokemon Company
34:51patches the games uh for Brilliant Diamond and Charming Pearl to um run at a higher resolution
35:00and frame rate uh they'll be stuck at the max resolution and frame rate that there go
35:06or that they were on Switch which again less than less or around 1080p and 30fps
35:13um now to
35:20load a different game because I downloaded the updates for two different games
35:26Smash Bros
35:28this recently had a patch
35:31to address some of the uh
35:35um
35:37like inconsistencies in performance I believe
35:40so yeah I believe it should still have all the DLC downloaded
35:49because I bought the uh the season passes
36:06there we go
36:10all right so there we go
36:15so that's just to show that now uh in between that as well I started to have the downloads for
36:22Fortnite so I'm assuming that Switch 2 version of this game runs at 60fps and you can you can do
36:28crossplay with it crossplay was initially enabled on the original Switch version but because the game
36:34only runs at 30fps on that system they they took it out in an update they took it out um
36:42because it would be unfair for Switch 1 players to play against other console players and PC players who
36:50can play at least 60fps so yeah so I'm assuming that runs at 60fps there's also
36:56the uh the uh Switch 2 versions of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom I am part of a
37:03friend's uh family plan that uh he did so these come free with that with the expansion pack
37:12um for that and so yeah
37:18um so I'm just having these download I'm also having the Nintendo GameCube
37:22uh Nintendo Classics app downloading there's also a bunch of different uh digital games
37:30um
37:31that are going to download and as you guys can see from this I think I showed this a bit earlier
37:40there's a bunch of other games that I had downloaded on my original Switch
37:42that are going to be downloaded to this sequentially so yeah and for the games that aren't those are the
37:48games I have physically that I will need to plug into my Switch 2 to download the updates which
37:56the updates take a bit they take a bit too long in my opinion but granted they're downloading like
38:00every single update at once so yeah up till the current one so yeah I also love I noticed this the
38:07other night I have the Funimation app still even though that's dead because Funimation got folded over
38:13in the Crunchyroll I'm pretty sure they like scrapped all of the shit for it so yeah guys um oh yeah
38:24something else as well um because I enabled it because I remembered it off camera which that's
38:31actually really cool that this makes it sound like that um so one thing that you guys should do
38:39is when you go into settings I think it's in system uh go down to battery percentage stop charging at
38:51around 90 percent this will uh really lengthen the amount of like life you're going to get out of the
38:58battery in this thing and yeah I have that all I have that kind of setting also enabled in my laptop
39:04probably should also my phone but eh but yeah so that is a recommended thing that you guys should
39:11do let's just see on this kickstand
39:18looks pretty good you guys can see my uh Elite Series 2 controller in the reflection of this thing
39:24so yeah so that is basically it's uh so far first impressions pretty good I will be doing like
39:32a video probably um at some point testing some games like I did for the Series X and PS5 when those came
39:40out and um yeah uh just testing how they play on this especially after some of them download so yeah
39:49that's actually really cool um so yeah I plan to do playthroughs of future games as well on my gaming
39:58channel if you have not already subscribed to that link subscription to it um so yeah keep an eye out
40:05for those guys so yeah um really not much else to say so link subscription all my shit subscribe
40:12for once and I'll see you guys in the next one hey everyone so just a quick add-on to the last
40:18uh bit of the video um when it comes to the switch 2 there is not only a
40:23uh USB-C cable on the bottom of it or port uh but there's also one on top
40:32uh yeah that that is an addition that I didn't clock when uh recording the video or recording the
40:42other parts of the video so yeah good addition uh from Nintendo to the design the base design of the
40:49original switch uh because it just makes you able to keep a charge while also having the um
41:00thing plugged in because the original switch did not have that for some reason
41:07so yeah so yeah take care guys
