00:00:00Just another day I'm walking
00:00:29Thinking of last night, like dreaming
00:00:32I can hear the noises of the stream
00:00:37Nothing changed outside, so I feel like empty
00:00:46And I love you, babe
00:00:50All I want is to be myself
00:00:54All the lights are on again
00:00:58And I need to find my way
00:01:02I don't care what they say
00:01:05I don't care
00:01:09Keep walking, it's alright
00:01:13We always die
00:01:16Keep dreaming, I know we can
00:01:20Just another day
00:01:24Keep walking, it's alright
00:01:27We always have time
00:01:31Keep dreaming, I know we can
00:01:35Just another day
00:01:38Good morning, Jules
00:01:50Good morning, Sit and Stay Cafe
00:01:52Great morning, Daisy
00:01:55Oh, the bouquet is beautiful
00:01:59Did the muscovata sugar come in?
00:02:02Not yet
00:02:02Ms. Liu is going to have to put up with white sugar in her coffee for a few days more
00:02:07But I do have good news
00:02:09There's a new dog up for foster at Coopville Canine Rescue
00:02:13Are you up for it?
00:02:14Already?
00:02:15I only stopped fostering Hanks a few days ago
00:02:18I know, but they're getting so many dogs
00:02:20And they need her help more than ever
00:02:22This
00:02:24Is him
00:02:26Badges!
00:02:30He is so cute
00:02:32Oh my gosh
00:02:34Jules, you know I can't adopt until I start my own business
00:02:38Fostering is all I can handle right now
00:02:43I know
00:02:44It was just a thought
00:02:45Okay, now that he's adopted
00:02:48It's time to move him
00:02:50To
00:02:51The adopted wall
00:02:54Don't you ever just fall in love with these little pups?
00:03:01Always
00:03:01Think you could draw his portraits in
00:03:06So we can
00:03:06Put him up for potential adoptees?
00:03:09Of course
00:03:09Okay
00:03:118am on the dot as usual
00:03:13Hello girls
00:03:15Hi mom
00:03:16Hi Miss Liu
00:03:17Coming here is always the highlight of my day
00:03:20I have said it once
00:03:22And I will say it again, Julia
00:03:24Giving up your pop star dream to create this cafe
00:03:27Was one of the best things that you've ever done
00:03:29Well, I love your music, Jules
00:03:31I still think you should put on a live show
00:03:34Of your old songs right there
00:03:35My singing days are behind me
00:03:38I love your music too
00:03:40But there is nothing more fulfilling
00:03:42Than a stable business venture
00:03:43Like a reliable coffee shop
00:03:45Is it Daisy?
00:03:48Yeah
00:03:48Did the muscovado come in yet?
00:03:51Oh, not yet, but any day now
00:03:53All right
00:03:54Then I'll have the usual latte
00:03:57Daisy, dear
00:03:58No need to do the little foam art on top
00:04:01Okay
00:04:03Days
00:04:05You look a little tired
00:04:07Not tired
00:04:08Well, I would be if I were you
00:04:10Having to do all that freelancing
00:04:12And open the coffee shop every day
00:04:14Well, like you taught me, Mom
00:04:16Hard work pays off
00:04:18You know, it's never too late
00:04:21To go to business school?
00:04:23Yeah, I know
00:04:24But I don't have to go to school
00:04:26What about creating a design TV show
00:04:29Like the one Jace James did
00:04:31With the show he made with his girlfriend Anastasia
00:04:33Do it today with J and A
00:04:35I love that show
00:04:38And he's quite successful
00:04:40Oh, no, he's famous
00:04:41Well, I can tell you
00:04:42As a former teen pop star
00:04:44That fame isn't always as validating
00:04:45As you might think
00:04:46Besides, he sold out
00:04:49Jace is from right here in Coopville, you know
00:04:53Oh, I know
00:04:53He was a few years ahead of us in Lawrence
00:04:55Well, I hear that he is moving back
00:04:57Maybe you could pick his brain
00:05:00You know, what's most frustrating
00:05:04Is my mother asking me to consider a career like Jace James
00:05:08Jeez, anyone but him
00:05:09You know, I used to admire him
00:05:11Really?
00:05:13You?
00:05:15In school?
00:05:16Yeah, but
00:05:17I was the first subscriber to his vlogs
00:05:21No way
00:05:23How many other designers do you know in Coopville?
00:05:27I don't even know any from Washington
00:05:28Exactly
00:05:29When he first started
00:05:31He primarily built furniture
00:05:33Was a huge advocate for eco-friendly designs
00:05:35And then his design TV show got picked up
00:05:38It became all about the money
00:05:39He forgot his purpose
00:05:41See?
00:05:43Welcome to this week's episode of Do It Today with J
00:05:45And A
00:05:46Before we show you some helpful tips for updating your living room
00:05:49We want to thank our sponsors over at Sway Luggage
00:05:51See?
00:05:53Sway Luggage's unique lightweight leather design
00:05:56Will make your next getaway
00:05:57The most fashionable yet
00:05:59Leather
00:06:00He used to be vegan
00:06:02I still think Do It Today with J and A
00:06:06Is fun
00:06:07But what's the point of having a platform
00:06:09If you're not going to speak up for what you believe in?
00:06:12Okay
00:06:12All I'm saying is I've stuck to my ideals
00:06:15Jace James, however, is a sellout
00:06:17So good to be home
00:06:24Hi, hi
00:06:28Do you have coffee?
00:06:32This way
00:06:32Yeah
00:06:33Thank you
00:06:33Yeah
00:06:34I'm Julia
00:06:37This is my cafe
00:06:39Good
00:06:39I was just telling Daisy how much I love Do It Today with J and A
00:06:45Oh, thanks
00:06:46Yeah
00:06:47But, um, your friend here will probably be happy to know that the show has been cancelled
00:06:51Oh
00:06:52Oh no, why is that?
00:06:54Anastasia and I broke up
00:06:55And you can't do J and A without the A
00:06:58It's part of the reason I moved back home
00:07:00I'm sorry
00:07:01Not that you're home, but that, you know, coffee's on us
00:07:07Daisy, we'll get whatever you'd like
00:07:11Mm-hmm
00:07:13Hi
00:07:15Hello
00:07:17Didn't you go to Lawrence?
00:07:21I did
00:07:21So did Jules
00:07:23Yeah
00:07:23No, I remember you
00:07:25You ran for senior class president when you were a freshman
00:07:29That's ambitious
00:07:30Well, I thought I
00:07:32There wasn't any strong platforms
00:07:36You didn't think my platform was strong?
00:07:38Oh, you lost, didn't you?
00:07:40So did you
00:07:41You're a senior
00:07:41You didn't give a speech on election day, isn't that right?
00:07:46Can I get you something?
00:07:48That'd be great
00:07:49Just, uh, a regular black coffee with no milk, please
00:07:52That's a really cute dog
00:07:57Here you are
00:08:00Mmm
00:08:01Thanks
00:08:03Mmm
00:08:07Strong
00:08:08Abrupt
00:08:09Just like the person who made it
00:08:13Thanks for the coffee
00:08:14Can't believe you've been here, what, five hours and you've already been called a sellout?
00:08:22Well, she didn't know I was there when she said it
00:08:24Still, not very welcoming
00:08:25No
00:08:26Don't worry
00:08:27When I started working in finance, all my music friends called me a sellout, too
00:08:30Oh, yeah
00:08:31I remember that
00:08:33Right after college, right?
00:08:35When we thought we had the whole world figured out
00:08:37Tell me about it
00:08:38So you think you'll ever start working on your music again?
00:08:41I don't know
00:08:41I started messing around in my free time, but I think it gets me really excited
00:08:45What you need is a muse
00:08:47Well, if you find one, let me know
00:08:49Why do you want this?
00:08:55Uh, I don't know
00:08:57Um, Anastasia was the interior designer of the duo
00:09:00So, uh, just there for now
00:09:02And how you doing, the whole breakup and all?
00:09:09I've been better, but, uh, it'll be all right
00:09:12Well, good to have you back home
00:09:15It's good to be home
00:09:17Don't get me wrong, I loved L.A., but, uh, maybe Daisy was onto something
00:09:22Who?
00:09:24The old woman from the coffee shop
00:09:25Well, you caught her name
00:09:26We went to high school together
00:09:28Different years, but, uh
00:09:30Anyway, um, I think I started losing track of everything that mattered
00:09:36So, consider the transition
00:09:38You're free, personally and professionally
00:09:40That's scary
00:09:41Right?
00:09:44Yeah
00:09:45What am I gonna do, man?
00:09:49You'll figure it out
00:09:58What's Anastasia gonna do?
00:10:02I don't know
00:10:03All I know is that we grew apart
00:10:05Lost sight of our initial vision
00:10:08Which was?
00:10:10To help others create environmentally friendly, do-it-yourself projects
00:10:13Ah, yes, the old startup plan
00:10:15We just couldn't figure out a way to move forward together
00:10:20And now, I gotta figure out a way to move forward along
00:10:23Without a partner
00:10:26No, of course
00:10:27Right
00:10:29Hey
00:10:32Remember that guy?
00:10:35No
00:10:36That looks great
00:10:45Thanks
00:10:46What's the name of that expo?
00:10:53Oh, it's called the Design and Inspiration Expo
00:10:56It is a competition for up-and-coming marketing designers
00:11:00People from all over the Pacific Northwest go to Seattle to compete
00:11:03What are they competing for?
00:11:05Top prize is $50,000 to put towards starting your own business
00:11:10And all I have to do is enter an original product
00:11:12What will yours be?
00:11:15Oh
00:11:15What will your product be?
00:11:17Well, I haven't quite figured that out yet
00:11:20But I have a month and I work well under pressure, so
00:11:23It's gonna be good
00:11:24Yes
00:11:25Oh, hello
00:11:28Hi
00:11:29Again
00:11:31Those locally roasted beans are really great
00:11:34Glad to hear
00:11:35I'll have, uh, the same as this morning, please
00:11:41Unpacking really takes a lot out of you
00:11:45Who's, uh, who's this little guy?
00:11:50Uh, that's Patches
00:11:50He's a dog that's up for adoption from the Coopville Canine Rescue
00:11:54Oh
00:11:55Oh, can you not?
00:11:56It's a work in progress
00:11:58Oh, yeah, sorry
00:11:59Do you like dogs, Jace?
00:12:02I love dogs, yeah
00:12:04But I've never had one of my own before
00:12:06How do I apply to a dog?
00:12:08I will grab an application for you
00:12:10Thanks
00:12:11Didn't you just move here?
00:12:16Yep
00:12:16Oh, when?
00:12:18Yesterday
00:12:18Now you want to adopt a dog?
00:12:20Seems a little fast
00:12:21Yeah
00:12:22Mm-hmm
00:12:23Here's your application
00:12:24Oh, nice
00:12:25Oh
00:12:26Thanks
00:12:33And thanks
00:12:34Looking forward to reading it
00:12:36Daisy
00:12:37Oh, Daisy, no
00:12:39What are you doing?
00:12:40Daisy?
00:12:43Okay
00:12:43Jeez
00:12:44Before you go through the trouble of filling that out
00:12:48Let me tell you that wanting a dog
00:12:49Is very different than being able to handle caring for a mom
00:12:51Yeah, I know
00:12:52They need attention, consistency, love
00:12:54Of course
00:12:55Look, why don't you start by filling out the application and we'll go from there
00:13:00But the Coopville Canine Rescue only adapts out to people who are serious about being dog parents
00:13:05Uh, I am serious
00:13:07No, you are impulsive
00:13:08Like, uh, running for class president based on, uh, popularity and pledging to paint the locker's neon green
00:13:14That was like 20 years ago and you have to admit that would have looked cool
00:13:17Wait
00:13:19Do you have a dog?
00:13:21No, but I thought
00:13:22Oh
00:13:23So it sounds like to me that you think you're an expert on something that you know nothing about
00:13:27Almost like running for senior class president in your first year of high school
00:13:31Okay
00:13:31I have an idea
00:13:34Daisy, you have tomorrow off, right?
00:13:36Yeah
00:13:36Mm-hmm
00:13:36Jason, are you free?
00:13:38Yeah
00:13:38Great
00:13:39Why don't you take Jason Patches to the park and see how they get along
00:13:43Patches
00:14:05Hey Daisy
00:14:12Sorry, I'm late
00:14:13Took a little detour
00:14:14Hey, little fella
00:14:16Where'd you get that?
00:14:18Oh
00:14:19Stopped by a Fur Elite on the way here
00:14:21Fur Elite's a huge chain store
00:14:24Yeah
00:14:24I mean, it was built in Coopville six years ago
00:14:27It took business away from Whiskers of Go-Go
00:14:29What's that?
00:14:31A small, locally owned pet store that was a staple here for almost 30 years
00:14:35No?
00:14:37I don't
00:14:38Well, it closed eventually
00:14:39Oh, that's just
00:14:40That's a shame
00:14:41I didn't know that
00:14:42Hey
00:14:42Fix
00:14:43Do you want a sec?
00:14:45Good boy
00:14:46Here you go
00:14:46Good man
00:14:48Do you remember what you used to say in your vlogs before the design TV show?
00:14:53Oh gosh
00:14:53I said lots of things
00:14:55You used to say every little thing helps a lot and every big thing helps a whole lot
00:15:00You know what?
00:15:01I still do what I can
00:15:02But I guess I'm not as strict on myself as I was back then
00:15:06It's just I used to look up to you
00:15:09Really?
00:15:11Yeah
00:15:12I mean, you proved to me that it was possible to be successful and help the planet
00:15:17When you were making your furniture, you used replenishable materials
00:15:22And when you had to use wood, you sourced it up to companies that made a point to replant trees
00:15:27Yeah, you know what? You're right
00:15:30The pull of the big brands made me bed my standards a little
00:15:34But that was mostly on TV
00:15:35You know, not in real life
00:15:37You're not on TV right now
00:15:39Okay, I didn't come here for a lecture, okay?
00:15:42I came to spend time with Patches
00:15:44Fair enough
00:15:45Can we do that?
00:15:46Yeah
00:15:46Alright
00:15:47Sure
00:15:47Okay, let's draw this again, okay?
00:15:51Patches, sit
00:15:52Patches, sit
00:15:55Hey, Patches, sit
00:15:57Good boy
00:16:00Why didn't you listen to me?
00:16:03Probably senses that you're nervous
00:16:04I'm not nervous
00:16:05You're gonna be fine
00:16:07He's really sweet
00:16:08Okay, well maybe I'll, you know, walk around with him for a little bit
00:16:12Yeah, you just gotta hold it like that
00:16:14Um
00:16:18Cool
00:16:18Yeah, go
00:16:19Thanks
00:16:19Okay
00:16:20Okay
00:16:21Okay, here we go
00:16:22He's like my little shadow
00:16:24Yes
00:16:26Maybe he'll sit for a photo if I give him a little treat
00:16:30Oh, I have a
00:16:31I got one right here
00:16:32Wait, what's that?
00:16:35Oh, just a little something I got from at the store
00:16:36But you caught me
00:16:37It's not all natural ingredients
00:16:39Do you want a bite?
00:16:41Sure
00:16:41Uh, this is an energy bar for humans
00:16:46No, it's not
00:16:47You're right
00:16:49Uh, I got a similar one for Patches
00:16:51I must have mixed them up
00:16:52I mean, this one also says that there's chocolate
00:16:54If you'd given it to Patches, it could have been fatal
00:16:56I'm sorry, it was an honest mistake
00:16:58Well, you could only make a mistake like that once
00:17:00Daisy, I'm sorry
00:17:02I really am, okay?
00:17:04Okay, no treat
00:17:05We're just gonna do a quick little photo
00:17:08A little quick selfie with just me and you
00:17:11No, uh-uh
00:17:13Sorry
00:17:13What?
00:17:15It's not gonna work out
00:17:17Come on
00:17:18Daisy, wait
00:17:24Wait, you're being unfair
00:17:28You think that I'm some girl that works at a small town coffee shop
00:17:31But I actually freelance in marketing
00:17:33And I know that dogs are wonderful for numbers
00:17:35In fact, they're certified gold for online clout
00:17:38Yeah?
00:17:40So what?
00:17:41So
00:17:41You just broke up with your girlfriend that brought in what?
00:17:44Half of your following, if not more
00:17:46And now you're using Patches as a ploy to help fix your image and get your career back on track
00:17:50Of course, the thought crossed my mind that Patches could help me
00:17:53But that's not why I want to adopt them
00:17:54Then why?
00:17:55Look
00:17:55We don't have to be friends here, okay?
00:17:57But you gotta give me a second chance
00:17:58You gotta give me a first chance
00:18:00I've barely been able to prove myself
00:18:02I just moved to town
00:18:04I'm starting my life over
00:18:06And I really do want a dog
00:18:09Okay?
00:18:10Not just for my image
00:18:11But
00:18:11Look, the truth is
00:18:14I moved back home
00:18:16So I can settle down
00:18:24And take Patches for one night
00:18:26Here are the instructions with everything that you need
00:18:29I will be on my phone if you need to reach me
00:18:31Thank you
00:18:33Daisy
00:18:37What?
00:18:39Did you design this?
00:18:41Yeah
00:18:41It's really good
00:18:45Thanks
00:18:47Okay, Patches
00:18:50You want to go for the walk?
00:18:53Yes!
00:18:54Yes!
00:18:57I'm just nervous that he's too self-absorbed to be a good dog parent to Patches
00:19:01His application was good
00:19:03You should give him a chance
00:19:04Stop waiting for him to go
00:19:06I'm not waiting
00:19:07Okay, I just want to be reachable
00:19:09Just in case he needs help with Patches
00:19:11I'm sure they're both doing just fine
00:19:14He wants a dog so he can want
00:19:21Fake a wholesome image?
00:19:22Oh my god
00:19:23Maybe he really wants to change
00:19:26And this is the only way he knows how
00:19:27His followers are going to see right through that
00:19:30Can't change a product overnight
00:19:32See, that's an insight that he could benefit from
00:19:35Why don't you do Jace's rebrand?
00:19:38Are you serious?
00:19:39Yes, he could be the perfect subject for the Design and Inspiration Expo
00:19:42Oh
00:19:44No, no, no
00:19:46I don't want to spend any more time than I already have to with him
00:19:50You are trying to make the world a better place
00:19:53You inspire me and it's time for you to inspire many others
00:19:58Design and Inspiration Expo is the perfect chance for that
00:20:02It would make my mom happy too
00:20:05You know Jace would probably say no anyways
00:20:11Well, no, unless you ask him
00:20:13Those, uh, pee pads your pamphlet recommended?
00:20:37Yeah, they didn't work
00:20:39So, Patches just had an accident on my brand new couch
00:20:47He also destroyed this
00:20:51Just bought that
00:20:54Here you go bud
00:20:55Cheers now
00:20:55You know, maybe I wasn't cut out for this
00:20:58Hey, hey
00:20:59No, no, no
00:21:00This kind of stuff
00:21:01The accidents, all of that
00:21:03Usually happens when you first get a pet
00:21:05They just need some time to get used to their new home
00:21:08Why are you being so nice to me all of a sudden?
00:21:10What do you mean?
00:21:11Well, you didn't want me to adopt Patches
00:21:13And now you're being all encouraging
00:21:15Well, Patches clearly likes you
00:21:18Patches likes everyone
00:21:23Fine
00:21:25There's this event coming up called the Design and Inspiration Expo
00:21:29And I thought maybe I can enter you as my product
00:21:32I don't understand
00:21:34How would I be designed?
00:21:36I will help you with Patches
00:21:37But I will also help you rebrand yourself
00:21:40I don't need a rebrand
00:21:42If you're going to go from a slick Los Angelino
00:21:44With a popular girlfriend that designs home interiors for the stars
00:21:47You're going to need help with your image
00:21:49As a small town, eco-friendly, single dog dad
00:21:52You can help with that?
00:21:58What's the prize?
00:21:5950 grand
00:22:00That I am putting towards my own business
00:22:03You know, it's interesting
00:22:04It was only yesterday that you were giving me all this grief
00:22:06About promoting myself online
00:22:08And now you want to help me do it better
00:22:10Well, if you're going to do it, you might as well do it right
00:22:12I think you want to stand out in this competition
00:22:15And you need my help to do it
00:22:17You can be really nice when you want something
00:22:19But
00:22:22I guess I can be nice when I want something too
00:22:27So
00:22:28Will you be my pet?
00:22:40Is Jace as nice as he seems on TV?
00:22:47He's even nicer
00:22:49I'm not convinced he's as nice as he's pretending to be
00:22:52But still though, he was nice enough to agree to be my product
00:22:57For the Design and Inspiration Expo
00:22:59Wait
00:23:00You mean the Pacific Northwest Design Competition?
00:23:03Yeah, exactly
00:23:05You do know that you need to make a speech there, right?
00:23:08Yeah, I know
00:23:10Daisy, darling
00:23:11You trip on your own words if you have to speak in front of more than three people
00:23:15I will practice
00:23:17Honestly, I don't know where she gets it from
00:23:20I have never had any problems speaking in front of people
00:23:23You know, in fact
00:23:24I have to speak in front of people every day when I'm giving presentations at work
00:23:28Yeah
00:23:28Oh, thank you for the late afternoon pick-me-up
00:23:32I will need it
00:23:32I can't believe they're working you this late
00:23:34They're not
00:23:35I am done for the day
00:23:36Then why the coffee?
00:23:39Oh, uh, well, I just want a little pep of my stuff for the evening
00:23:44That's all
00:23:45I've got a little personal project to finish tonight
00:23:48I will see you ladies tomorrow morning
00:23:58So, do you ever miss the California sun?
00:24:04The weather in LA is overrated
00:24:06I've been to so many beaches in the last five years
00:24:08I've started to miss the brisk weather and the walking in the rain
00:24:12Wow, usually those are the reasons why people leave the Pacific Northwest
00:24:15I guess I'm a little nostalgic
00:24:18You know, I love the sun and the sand
00:24:20But Kugba will always be home
00:24:22You know, growing up I never really thought about it
00:24:25I was just...couldn't wait to get out
00:24:28Maybe you just needed some distance to gain some perspective
00:24:31Oh my gosh, Jace James
00:24:33Oh, hi
00:24:34I'm a huge fan, can I get a picture?
00:24:37Oh, uh, yeah, of course, of course, yeah
00:24:39Uh, Daisy, would you, would you mind?
00:24:44Yeah
00:24:44Would you dance?
00:24:45Mm-hmm
00:24:45Okay
00:24:47Say Jace
00:24:50Jace
00:24:51I'm rooting for you and Anastasia to get back together
00:24:55Oh, uh, thanks, I guess
00:24:58And your dog is so cute
00:25:00Oh, thank you very much
00:25:01It's not officially his dog yet
00:25:02He will be
00:25:03Not yet, no
00:25:04Will be
00:25:05Oh, okay
00:25:07Okay
00:25:07All right, thanks
00:25:09So, what fan number was that this morning?
00:25:12Six?
00:25:13Can we get out of the center of town, please?
00:25:14I don't want to see any more people
00:25:16Oh, please, you probably get so excited every time they approach
00:25:19I don't, actually, it makes me uncomfortable
00:25:21Another reason, I'm happy to be back in Coopville
00:25:23The fans in L.A. were more aggressive
00:25:25Yeah, I, I can imagine
00:25:27Shall we?
00:25:29Yeah
00:25:29Where we going, bud?
00:25:34Where are we going?
00:25:37Whoa
00:25:38What's this?
00:25:42It's called yarn bombing
00:25:43It's something a local artist likes to do here
00:25:45What's their name?
00:25:48The artist?
00:25:49Yeah
00:25:49Nobody knows
00:25:51They like to do it at night in secret
00:25:53If you look all over town, it's everywhere
00:25:56Why do you think they do it?
00:26:01Mmm
00:26:01I don't think they do it for any singular reason
00:26:09Other than the fact that it's nice
00:26:11It's how I want to live my life
00:26:14It's actually how I want to run my business
00:26:17For the love of it
00:26:18Not for the credit
00:26:20Hello, you
00:26:30Oh, no
00:26:31Another fan
00:26:32I'm, I'm not in the mood
00:26:34It's not a fan
00:26:35It's Charlotte
00:26:36Hey, Charlotte
00:26:37Hi
00:26:38Thank you so much for coming to my art show
00:26:40Yeah, of course
00:26:41I mean, it was amazing
00:26:42Oh, thanks so much
00:26:43Did you paint all these?
00:26:45I did
00:26:45Did you know Charlotte is self-taught?
00:26:50She only started painting a few years after she retired
00:26:52Wow
00:26:53Well, I will definitely be buying one of these
00:26:56Because that one will go great over my new couch
00:26:59Absolutely
00:27:00Uh, what do I owe you?
00:27:02This one's $500
00:27:03Great
00:27:04There you go
00:27:06Thank you
00:27:07Thank you
00:27:07Did you need help with that?
00:27:09That'd be great
00:27:10Do you mind?
00:27:11Sure
00:27:11Come on, bud
00:27:12Thank you
00:27:13Okay
00:27:15Congratulations
00:27:18Thank you
00:27:20It wasn't impulsive
00:27:23I need a bike to get around
00:27:24And it's more environmentally friendly than a car, right?
00:27:28I guess that's true
00:27:30Hmm
00:27:31I'm not gonna like leaving Patches all by himself
00:27:33It's gonna be hard at first
00:27:35I know
00:27:37It's gonna break my heart a little bit
00:27:38Ooh, I meant for Patches
00:27:40Right
00:27:41Right
00:27:42Something that might be helpful
00:27:44It's called crate training
00:27:46You get your dog comfortable in a crate while you're gone
00:27:50And if done properly
00:27:52He will see the crate as a safe space
00:27:54Wow
00:27:55That's a good tip
00:27:56Question
00:27:58Where does one get a dog bed and a crate around here?
00:28:04Furly
00:28:05Okay
00:28:11Tell you what
00:28:13I'll make home-cooked meals for Patches
00:28:15Using only organic vegetables and ingredients
00:28:17To make up for
00:28:18You know, supporting the chain store
00:28:20It's not how it works, but
00:28:22Okay
00:28:23Where's Patches?
00:28:25Sleep in his crate
00:28:26Little guy had a big day
00:28:28It's a great start
00:28:30Yeah
00:28:30Hey, let me, uh, ask you something here
00:28:33What do you think?
00:28:36Well, this
00:28:37Right here
00:28:39Uh, no, you don't want to do that
00:28:41Why not?
00:28:43It's not the focal point
00:28:44I mean, you want to draw people into your home
00:28:46No one's ever gonna see that
00:28:48What do you mean?
00:28:49It's a big painting
00:28:50Exactly
00:28:50And this is a small space
00:28:52You want to feature it, not hide it
00:28:54And based on the layout of the house
00:28:57You need to direct the eye
00:28:59They teach you that in art school?
00:29:01Maybe
00:29:02Okay
00:29:04What, there?
00:29:12No, it takes up too much room there
00:29:14It's supposed to
00:29:15It's the centerpiece
00:29:16I don't
00:29:17The way it looks with the furniture in here
00:29:19Okay, the furniture shouldn't be like this in the first place
00:29:21That couch should be over here
00:29:23The table in the middle
00:29:24It'll open up the room
00:29:25So you're an interior designer now, too?
00:29:28Just an artist with a good eye
00:29:29Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:32Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:33Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:34Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:35Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:36Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:37Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:38Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:39Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:40Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:41Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:42Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:43Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:44Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:45Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:46Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:47Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:48Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:49Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:50Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:51Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:52Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:53Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:54Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:55Oh, I gotta check on them
00:29:56he was wanting because he wanted his blank

00:31:19of thing well i like it when the clients tell me what they like get a sense of their style and
00:31:26put the best in them
00:31:31kufil canine rescue was asking if we could post something about jace adopting patches
00:31:39they think his clout would bring a lot of good attention to the shelter
00:31:44you should invite jace to uh charlotte's gardening event
00:31:48could be a good chance to get to know him a little better without the pup around

00:35:42to plant i was thinking that it might be fun to have a friendly competition with one of the most

00:39:43patches some dinner in the kitchen would you like to join me i'd love to great
00:39:51so with patches you can promote environmentally friendly ways of being a pet owners kill two birds
00:39:56with one stone no save uh two birds with one reusable stone i think that's a great idea so carrots
00:40:05turkey broccoli and rice that's it that's it sometimes this is my dinner too oh oh who is this
00:40:16that is charlie my childhood dog i didn't know you had a dog when you were a kid yeah yeah
00:40:23we didn't have him for very long um i got him the summer i was 10 and right before i went to camp
00:40:30charlie was the best i remember asking my parents that summer if i could not go to camp so i could just
00:40:36stay home and spend time with charlie that's so sweet
00:40:41i was away um it was an accident
00:40:44and i never could say goodbye couldn't bear losing another dog so
00:40:52i never got another dog that's awful yeah it was
00:40:58but hey it was that summer at camp where i learned all about the different types of trees and where my
00:41:04eco-warrior identity began
00:41:06i am sorry that i judged you so harshly i didn't know that the wall that you had up with dogs came

00:44:17now that's what i call googly eye right you know i always thought julia looked familiar but i just
00:44:25thought it was from lawrence i didn't think she was the julia day oh the one and only matt really is a
00:44:30massive fan you mean what is he did one of his songs last time we did karaoke isn't his stuff a little
00:44:36bit out of his range way out of his range but he committed i'll give him that he was hitting the notes
00:44:41only patches could hear oh sounds like a great guy we've been friends since we were kids you know
00:44:46i just wished he believed in himself a bit more oh i mean you've never had that problem have you
00:44:50mm kidding i'm just kidding julia's the same way mm but can she hit the notes only patches can hear
00:44:58we're gonna go for the right or left yeah let's go
00:45:17no no absolutely absolutely
00:45:28the yarn bomber returns
00:45:39do you knit a little but i'm not very good at it if we got some durable material we could make some
00:45:44braided dog toys for the expo oh i have some ideas i'd like to share with you should we take a break
00:45:49do you hear yeah all right
00:46:00mm wow what's this one you have to guess no i'm really bad at this mm-hmm
00:46:08um well it's very bright maybe floral is a strawberry passion fruit and rose well whatever it is it's
00:46:17delicious and you made this yourself mm-hmm i just never guessed that the genius behind lollipop dreams
00:46:24would give it up for muffin dream people change i guess sure i just selfishly wish you wrote another
00:46:32album but it's funny for the longest time i swore off ever writing music again lately i've been
00:46:41i don't know thinking about it and then you show up well people change
00:46:46so um are you sure you want to write music with me what have we got to lose and what should our first
00:46:55song be about um maybe about uh oh two people who grew up in the same town but never met until
00:47:05the universe decided they had to meet it it's too cheesy it's definitely cheesy
00:47:13but i like it i'll get us some coffee
00:47:22why don't you get a pen and paper too you have a song idea already you never know okay
00:47:29okay okay so we can make this out of old t-shirts tennis balls any recycled plastics great for dogs
00:47:40that like to tug that's a great idea this one this is my favorite toy idea so you take a plastic bottle
00:47:49you fill it up with treats cover it up with a sock or a bag great for dogs that love the crinkling of
00:47:55the plastic keeps it out of the ocean that's brilliant thank you i was thinking about making
00:48:03patches a doghouse out of uh repurposed wood that would be wonderful do you think you want to maybe
00:48:09come over tomorrow and help make it i'd love to you know what kind of tree this is
00:48:20um a spruce close douglas fir how can you tell different cones and different crowns
00:48:31crowns it's the top of the tree fancy douglas firs make the best christmas trace but you got to be
00:48:40careful with the heavy ornaments at christmas time because uh the branches aren't as strong
00:48:44my mom always says that douglas firs make the best christmas tree i guess she's right about
00:48:50something what do you mean uh we really don't see eye to eye my uh my mom once told me that the
00:49:00most ridiculous thing a person can do is be an artist well i think the most ridiculous thing a person can
00:49:08do is not follow their heart i agree what what's so funny douglas fir that would be a great dog name
00:49:22what fur like f-u-r okay i'm just glad that the type of artist you want to become
00:49:31was not a comedian okay that was funny okay it was a little bit funny you laughed a little bit
00:49:43we have such a spark daisy he's such a wonderful guy i'm not surprised jay speaks highly of matt
00:49:49and we just get each other you know like he left his safe job i left my not so safe job and we're
00:49:56meeting in the middle just trying to figure out next steps it's kind of poetic and speaking
00:50:04of poetic he wrote some lyrics just off the top of his head and they're so beautiful and we are going
00:50:10to collaborate on some music together he's really inspiring me to come back to music and i can't
00:50:16wait to see him again i know that's so great it is it is and you you you you don't feel
00:50:26anything for jace no we're just strictly business partners
00:50:33you have that look what look the look where you're not telling me something
00:50:39i have a look for that yeah what what do you want to tell me
00:50:44matt may have mentioned that jace may have feelings for you he may have mentioned that
00:50:53really mm-hmm oh
00:51:00i mean i'm i'm too busy with the competition anyways and there's too much riding on it so
00:51:08of course
00:51:08so when you win the expo what are you going to call your business daisy's way that is to the point
00:51:26like me what about you what are you going to name your new design tv show i'm not even sure i want a
00:51:32new show i may just open up a shop here and give her a lead a run for the money but you're so good at
00:51:39being a host i thought you weren't a fan of the show i'm not but you weren't so bad
00:51:48so do you have some terrible punny name in mind for my solo show if i if i did one
00:51:54maybe what is it well i'm not gonna tell you now please you have to tell me okay you ready
00:52:05anything is possible with jace james that's perfect that really is perfect yeah that is so terrible that
00:52:17it's good thank you oh you know i should get some footage of you for your social media
00:52:29oh wow i haven't posted on social media in months that's perfect you can see how your style is
00:52:33communicating with your audience all right i'll set up build the house okay
00:52:39and action hey everyone it's been a while jace james here reporting from my hometown in coopville
00:52:49washington now a lot has happened since the last time i saw you all not only did i get a new house
00:52:54but i got a new partner as well my dog patches now right now i'm building patches a dog house using
00:53:00wood from a broken dresser and an old tabletop now normally those two items would have ended up in a
00:53:05landfill somewhere but if you get creative and resourceful you can build something beautiful for
00:53:10your furry friend be sure to follow along for more environmentally friendly ideas
00:53:17wow that was terrific you think so yeah i mean i'm really impressed i would need a script to sound
00:53:26that well spoken oh thanks um i guess i had a lot of practice with anastasia how is that
00:53:34you know um how are you feeling since the breakup it was really really hard at first
00:53:41it's heartbroken but being here with patches and finding a purpose again i feel like i'm finally
00:53:51moving on that's great anyway um can you send me the video and i'll put it on social media yeah of
00:54:00course just tag me okay what about you you dating at all uh not really
00:54:15you know i'm i'm really busy and i haven't found a person to support my work in the way that i'd like
00:54:22yeah i get that you know julia she always compares my dating life to fostering without adopting and um
00:54:33how are they similar i guess i'm afraid of commitment
00:54:37but you've been practicing you know it's all in your head i mean even with all the practice i
00:54:51haven't said my entire speech in front of a crowd and the talking portion makes or breaks who wins and
00:54:57if i can't talk passionately about my product then why do i expect others to buy into it well you need to
00:55:04let go of your fears i'm trying do you know that dogs are descendants of wolves of course
00:55:14no wild even the tiniest little chihuahua or even this guy right here huh
00:55:23wolf it's pretty funny yeah
00:55:25mm-hmm what were you doing we were in a public place who cares right patches who cares
00:55:41no one's looking nobody cares come on come on give it a go let it out
00:55:46really that's the best you got i think you can do better patches i think she can do better
00:55:57mad i think he can do better okay okay not bad not bad
00:56:10yes there you go right didn't you do good look at them speaking of letting go of fears
00:56:19yes yeah i guess so um i gotta open the cafe tomorrow so i gotta get going yeah we should go too
00:56:31can we walk you through the street yeah okay come on buddy you gotta get going
00:56:53not only did i got a new house but i got a new partner as well my dog patches
00:57:01so
00:57:05why are you so cheery this morning me i'm not yes you are okay look who's talking could you blame a girl
00:57:13i am late latte please and um no art yeah mom how are you today martha
00:57:21busy but good yeah there is light at the end of the long long tunnel oh yeah what's that well i
00:57:28finally did a daisy i'm going back to paris i love paris i went there on tour many years ago it is
00:57:35one of my favorite cities in the whole world you know i had always hoped to take daisy there with me
00:57:40but daisy feels like she needs to get to the next step of her career before going on a vacation
00:57:47maybe talked about going together for years just say the word and i will get you a ticket
00:57:53i just couldn't wait any longer work has been so intense i wanted to reward myself well you know
00:58:00that i was going to pay my way eventually i know but why not just go with me now i mean once your
00:58:06your little competition is over why are you always putting me down what i'm doing no such thing i chose
00:58:14this life wasn't a mistake i know but it does come with sacrifices here i don't see them as sacrifices
00:58:23i mean i guess that's where you and i have always differed darling there is no need to be upset with me
00:58:29we were supposed to go together okay and then you came into this cafe tell me that you're gonna go out
00:58:36of the blue to what prove a point i'm not trying to prove anything i just want you to be happy yeah well i am
00:58:46i will see myself out
00:58:53it felt good
00:58:57what
00:59:00it was just a little harsh
00:59:06it was just a little harsh
00:59:08wait great
00:59:15daisy
00:59:16i didn't expect to see you today sorry to pop in i had a horrible morning and i wanted to see you
00:59:23but we can get into that later here it is these are the items we can use to upcycle those toys
00:59:29that's great uh something i gotta tell you real quick you should have seen me in the cafe today my
00:59:34mom comes in she starts putting me down and i just kept thinking about us howling at the moon
00:59:40and i i just decided you know what not today so i i spoke my truth and i said what was what
00:59:48what you get me yeah
00:59:59oh uh daisy i'd like you to meet anastasia
01:00:04daisy james has told me so much about you likewise um
01:00:08what are you i know jace was just as surprised to see me when i showed up
01:00:23well i saw the video jace posted building the dog house and
01:00:26i saw how happy he was and it made me realize just
01:00:31how much i missed him oh i hopped on a plane and decided to surprise him
01:00:37i really want to try to make things work again
01:00:42that's wonderful
01:00:46i i just came to drop this off so i better go
01:00:48no no no please please stay stay for a bit
01:00:51we were just about to make dinner stay for dinner
01:01:09it's delicious it's all vegan since when have you been vegan
01:01:15i was vegan before we met
01:01:18are you vegan too daisy yeah i i am
01:01:24that's so great
01:01:30jace says that you work at the most amazing coffee shop
01:01:34i do i love coffee i'll have to come in and try some
01:01:38daisy makes the most beautiful latte art wow that's a talent
01:01:43not really it's just latte art right you have dreams of doing small scale design and marketing is
01:01:52that right i mean i wouldn't call it small which reminds me and forgive me but a friend of mine
01:01:58entered the design and inspiration expo competition a few years ago and she had talked about entering
01:02:03this fitness routine that she came up with as her product i mean that sounds interesting yes but she
01:02:09ultimately ended up entering something else this protein powder because she seemed to believe that
01:02:14it wasn't permissible to have a human element in the entry given the guidelines
01:02:18at least that was her understanding i told anastasia that's something you wouldn't have missed because
01:02:23you're so you know detail oriented i don't think it says anything like that i figured as much
01:02:32just thought i'd mention it are you are you done here
01:02:36no no no hey you don't have to um i insist wow look at how you hold those you can tell you've been
01:02:47working in hospitality for some time yeah i guess
01:03:06i just don't think this expo competition is where you should be wasting your talents and your time
01:03:14why not what are you getting out of it besides that eyesore of a doghouse i love that doghouse
01:03:21all this expo is going to do is to help daisy get her business off the ground which
01:03:25honestly is something she should have done quite some time ago
01:03:27so what i believe in her
01:03:34i know that things weren't the best between us in the end but now that we've both had a bit of
01:03:40a break i think we should focus on starting a new design show together this new rebrand it'll
01:03:46certainly be successful for the both of us right but what about daisy you can pay daisy off with the
01:03:56earnings that we'll make from the new show after all isn't that why she's entered this competition in
01:04:00the first place for the prize money hey um i better get going uh yeah are you okay to get home
01:04:11yeah of course i'll see you at the park tomorrow yeah
01:04:16bye daisy good night
01:04:27why would anastasia say such a thing she's looking out for jace oh she's looking out for herself which
01:04:33she accused you of daring to do i'm looking out for myself too jules she's trying to ride the
01:04:38coattails of your hard work and get in on jace's much improved rebrand jace shouldn't be focused on
01:04:44the competition why would you say that i looked up the rules again and it seems like she's right
01:04:54anything with a human element will be disqualified are you sure i mean i didn't notice it at first
01:05:01and it's kind of a gray area with semantics but given the legal language of what is admissible as a
01:05:07product seems like she's right and my product isn't just involving a human it is a whole human
01:05:14full stop but human selling products need branding as much as any object i know i know but not in this
01:05:23competition
01:05:26i don't know how to tell chase there has to be a way around it i'll figure it out
01:05:32just feel kind of hopeless
01:05:44good man patches good man daisy you should have seen us on the walk over here we were in sync patches
01:05:50was perfect weren't you buddy hey yes i have to tell you something i have to tell you something too but
01:05:55first dog toys they're finally finished i even included some of my homemade dog treats just in
01:06:01time for the expo this weekend oh wow um that's that's so great that's here what's it
01:06:08patches adoption papers congratulations you're a dog owner this is honestly the best news ever
01:06:25thank you so much for for everything for trusting me i i could not have done this without you
01:06:30what's wrong um i i can't enter you into the competition why not anastasia was right i misread
01:06:44the rules and a person can't be a product oh uh okay okay we can figure this out um
01:06:52what if uh what if we entered the brand itself without me attached you think homemade toys meal
01:07:01ideas and a doghouse is enough to win fifty thousand dollars the brand is nothing without you that's
01:07:06not true yeah yeah it is and the major selling point is the rebrand the story isn't complete without
01:07:12a before and after you can't just give up i'm not gonna give up i'm gonna figure it out i'm just gonna
01:07:19do it without you daisy wait wait we can do this together don't waste any more time on me okay
01:07:29so you did hear that i that's what i wanted to talk to you about you have the adoption papers
01:07:33and anastasia back and i can't use you for the expo so you're off the hook thank you for everything
01:07:39you've done so far don't forget to get him a dog tag daisy please it's just goodbye juice those belong
01:07:48to you
01:07:57where's she going
01:08:18no time to be sad daisy
01:08:31okay
01:08:39okay
01:09:13Chase, I get that you want all of these things to be a part of your life and your brand, but this just isn't you.
01:09:24Do you remember right before we broke up, you said that I seemed distracted?
01:09:30Yes.
01:09:32Well, that's because I was focusing on the things that don't matter to me.
01:09:36I don't care about status the way you do. It's not me.
01:09:43But this? Homemade dog toys and crate training and plaid? This isn't you either.
01:09:53That's the thing. It is me. It always has been.
01:09:58You've barely known the real me, Anastasia, and to be honest, I've barely known him myself.
01:10:04You really think that you'll be happy here?
01:10:07You think that you'll be happy with a dog taking up your whole life?
01:10:11I do.
01:10:13Because I am happy.
01:10:21Well, I just hope that you aren't giving up security for something that will eventually fall through.
01:10:27I can't fall through if I'm staying true to myself.
01:10:45Goodbye, Chase.
01:10:46Good man. Good man. Good man. Good man. There we go.
01:11:09There we go.
01:11:10Oh, Patches, look.
01:11:14Look at this.
01:11:16Wow.
01:11:19Oh, look over here, too. Look, look, look, look, look.
01:11:30Patches, look.
01:11:32Look, look, look, look, look.
01:11:33Look.
01:11:34Look.
01:11:34Yarnbomber at swiftmail.com.
01:11:39Okay.
01:11:46Okay.
01:11:47You want to get out of here?
01:11:48Okay.
01:12:04Dear Yarnbomber, I'd like to place a special order.
01:12:09Here.
01:12:28Oh, man.
01:12:29What?
01:12:30What?
01:12:36Oh, man.
01:12:37Who are you from?
01:12:49Jace.
01:12:52Well, if I was looking for a sign.
01:13:07I've got to get going to the expo.
01:13:24Hey, it's going to work.
01:13:30Got to try, right?
01:13:34You know what?
01:13:36I'm coming with you.
01:13:38Jules, you don't have to.
01:13:39Oh, I know.
01:13:41I want to.
01:13:42But what about the cafe?
01:13:44I'm the boss.
01:13:46I make the hours.
01:13:52Let's go.
01:14:06Daze, your design is so unique.
01:14:19It's definitely going to stand out.
01:14:21It doesn't look too homemade.
01:14:23That's what's so great about it.
01:14:25It's charming and grounded.
01:14:27It's so you.
01:14:29You know how they say that the best gift to give others is one that you want yourself?
01:14:32Mm-hmm.
01:14:33Well, I was thinking about Jace and I had to ask myself, what is my brand?
01:14:40What do I care about?
01:14:41What do I want to represent?
01:14:42And I realized that I had to go back to my roots, just like him.
01:14:49And now I'm interested in branding through the eyes of an artist.
01:14:53Right.
01:14:54So I decided that my mark will be that I design all of my promotions.
01:15:03It really works.
01:15:04Yeah.
01:15:05Yeah.
01:15:06Well, whatever happens, thank you so much for coming with me.
01:15:10Even if I get disqualified, I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
01:15:14And thank you so much for helping me prep.
01:15:19Of course.
01:15:20Good afternoon, contestants.
01:15:24And welcome to the 18th Annual Design and Inspiration Expo Brand Design Competition.
01:15:30Woo!
01:15:31Now, I'm George Magnus.
01:15:32I'm the CEO of Entrepreneur, and I'll be the head judge of today's event.
01:15:37You know, here we celebrate the innovative minds of the Pacific Northwest's most ambitious
01:15:41creators and designers.
01:15:43And I am more than thrilled to see your fresh ideas and unique designs.
01:15:48And today we get a chance to see you.
01:15:51How connected are you to your work?
01:15:53How good are you at selling it?
01:15:55Now such things are best judged in person, so let the competition begin.
01:16:00Woo!
01:16:06Thank you so much.
01:16:07Come on.
01:16:08All right.
01:16:09You must be Daisy Liu.
01:16:11All right, you must be Daisy Liu.
01:16:20Hello, nice to meet you.
01:16:22And what product will you be marketing today, Ms. Liu?
01:16:25I have rebranded Jace James from Home Designer for the Stars
01:16:28to a creator of innovative ideas to help pet owners become more environmentally conscious.
01:16:34I see.
01:16:35You must not have been aware of the rule that
01:16:38products entered in the Design and Inspiration Expo must not have a human element to them.
01:16:44Unfortunately, Ms. Liu, this means that, well, you have to be disqualified from the competition.
01:16:51Mr. Magnus, if I may.
01:16:55I know the rules, the ideology of which is a little bit behind in the times.
01:17:02Jace is not the product here.
01:17:04In fact, that is exactly what my rebrand intends to convey.
01:17:07Go on.
01:17:09My product is how Jace's view of the world and his work make people feel,
01:17:14and how that will change their lives for the better.
01:17:18I'm not selling Jace James.
01:17:21I'm selling his way of life.
01:17:23His new image is the reflection of who he is today.
01:17:27By transforming his life, he was able to transform his life's work.
01:17:30Now, if Jace can take his distinctive hallmark and change it into something totally different
01:17:36and still be successful, then why can't others?
01:17:40Furthermore, if you haven't done your part to help the planet,
01:17:44then who's to say you can't start tomorrow?
01:17:46One small step for oneself will always help others and eventually the world.
01:17:50And sometimes the biggest of those small steps begins with four paws.
01:17:58Thank you for that presentation.
01:18:02That was quite impressive.
01:18:04Unfortunately, based on that aforementioned technicality and really that technicality alone,
01:18:11I still have to disqualify you from the competition.
01:18:14Thank you so much for the opportunity.
01:18:16Oh my goodness.
01:18:22You did it.
01:18:23I did it.
01:18:24You did it.
01:18:24I did it.
01:18:25I caught you.
01:18:29You were amazing.
01:18:31So articulate.
01:18:32Definitely the most innovative and inspirational idea there.
01:18:36I can't believe I didn't stumble through my speech.
01:18:39I can.
01:18:40You know why.
01:18:41Because I had an amazing teacher.
01:18:43I mean, of course.
01:18:43But also you had something important to say and you believed in yourself.
01:18:49I don't feel disappointed at all.
01:18:52$50,000 would have been nice though.
01:18:53Yes.
01:18:54Yes.
01:18:54But I'm always preaching that the best things take time.
01:18:57So I need to take my own advice.
01:19:00I do.
01:19:01I never needed a prize to know that my work is good.
01:19:04It is good.
01:19:06You know, I'm just...
01:19:08I wish Jace could be here.
01:19:10Although I was disqualified, I know he would have been proud of me.
01:19:15He'd be so appreciative of how you presented him.
01:19:17I'm kind of sad that things worked out the way it did between us.
01:19:21He sent me a sweater, you know?
01:19:23He did.
01:19:24Mm-hmm.
01:19:24And it was sweet and intimate and strange given his relationship.
01:19:31What relationship?
01:19:33With Anastasia.
01:19:33Okay, you good?
01:19:39What's...
01:19:40With everything going on with the competition, I forgot.
01:19:43Jace broke up with Anastasia.
01:19:45When?
01:19:46Just the other day.
01:19:47She already flew back to LA and everything.
01:19:49Apparently she told him he had to choose between her and Patches.
01:19:53And well, it looks like he made the right choice.
01:19:56I see.
01:19:58Uh...
01:19:59Well, that's good to know.
01:20:01Okay.
01:20:03I'm falling, falling for you.
01:20:13I'm falling, falling for you.
01:20:23Looking at the sun, my favorite song is so light is all around.
01:20:30I know who I am, I know who I am, but never I'm with you.
01:20:38You make me feel like home.
01:20:43I'm falling, falling for you.
01:20:52I'm falling, falling for you.
01:20:58Hi, Mom.
01:21:11I thought you'd be busy preparing for your trip.
01:21:16It's quite the sweater.
01:21:17I know it's not a designer, but I like it.
01:21:21Can I get you your usual?
01:21:23We're still at a Muscovato sugar.
01:21:25Do you know who made that sweater?
01:21:27Some bohemian artists around these parts.
01:21:30I don't know their name.
01:21:31I do.
01:21:34Really?
01:21:35I made that sweater, Daisy.
01:21:36But the yarn bombing.
01:21:41Yes, that was me, too.
01:21:43I know I've been tough on you, and I'm very sorry about it.
01:21:47I guess I've just been resentful of having to give out my own dream of being an artist.
01:21:54Knitting has become my way of keeping the artist and myself alive.
01:21:58I don't know what to say.
01:22:00I mean, I love your work.
01:22:02Still, you were right.
01:22:04What you said the other week, I'm not happy.
01:22:07You know, I shouldn't have said what I said.
01:22:09I may have deserved it.
01:22:11I was planning my trip to Paris, and I was so excited about finally getting away and, you know, having some time to myself.
01:22:19I do enjoy being alone, you know.
01:22:21I know.
01:22:22Well, not always, though.
01:22:25Then, I started thinking about what you said.
01:22:29I thought, what really makes me happy?
01:22:32Do you know what my greatest joy is?
01:22:35Spending time with you.
01:22:38Let's go to Paris together.
01:22:40Mom, you don't have to.
01:22:42I mean, we can go to, I don't know, Cleveland?
01:22:46I know, but I would like to.
01:22:49Will you let me?
01:22:50At least, let's make it a congratulations.
01:22:54A congratulations for what?
01:22:56The video you made.
01:22:58Oh, you were so, so brilliant, my dear.
01:23:02So bright, so well-spoken.
01:23:05I never, ever should have doubted you.
01:23:08Video?
01:23:08What?
01:23:09What are you talking about?
01:23:09What?
01:23:10Leo.
01:23:11Have you seen it?
01:23:12What?
01:23:13Seen what?
01:23:17The video.
01:23:18I was just trying to tell her.
01:23:20Someone took a video of you doing your speech at the expo, and it's gone viral.
01:23:24Really?
01:23:25People love you.
01:23:26Look, it's almost at 10,000 views.
01:23:28Only had 6,000 last I checked.
01:23:30Oh, there are hundreds of comments.
01:23:33Oh, look at this one.
01:23:34This is the future of marketing.
01:23:36Yes.
01:23:38Oh, my gosh.
01:23:38I have so many on my emails.
01:23:41People are reaching out to me about marketing themselves.
01:23:45Yes, yes, yes.
01:23:46Oh, see?
01:23:46That's wonderful.
01:23:48This is wild.
01:23:49I told you, you are in business.
01:23:51I don't understand.
01:23:52Who took the video?
01:23:52Who took the video?
01:23:53I wish.
01:23:55Someone with the username, anything is possible.
01:23:58Jace, I have to find Jace.
01:24:04Anything is possible.
01:24:05That's what I wanted Jace to name his design TV show.
01:24:08You're so cute.
01:24:11Buddy?
01:24:13Yes.
01:24:14Thank you, chef.
01:24:18Jace.
01:24:19Daisy.
01:24:21Hi.
01:24:22These are, these are for you.
01:24:29For me?
01:24:34Did you see the video?
01:24:36Yeah.
01:24:37You took it, didn't you?
01:24:39Wouldn't have missed it.
01:24:40You were wonderful.
01:24:43Oh, I'm so sorry.
01:24:44I, I...
01:24:44You have absolutely nothing to apologize for.
01:24:47I was very moved by what you said.
01:24:51I meant it.
01:24:51I know.
01:24:55And I want to thank you.
01:24:57Because, uh...
01:24:59You know, I've never totally felt at home anywhere.
01:25:02Not in L.A. or on my show.
01:25:06But you.
01:25:08You took the time to see the real me.
01:25:12You granted me patience I didn't know I needed and...
01:25:15Made me feel at home with...
01:25:17Who I am.
01:25:18So inspiring to see how you love and care for others that...
01:25:24I feel at home...
01:25:27With you.
01:25:30And patches, of course.
01:25:31You made this?
01:25:42Yeah, I did.
01:25:43Out of recycled metal.
01:25:44You know, just because, uh...
01:25:46I'm falling for you.
01:25:50I'm falling for you too, Jace.
01:25:52Nice.
