00:00yes the steamy scenes are are in there they're teased you know a little bit
00:03yeah they do a good job of that don't they just like slipping in like don't
00:06worry we've got your we've got your back covered yeah
00:08and that scene is excellent i will add i've watched it with you both
00:13that wasn't weird at all in the same room never doing that again
00:16hi we are the cast of outlander blood of my blood and we are talking to the
00:28hollywood reporter at comic-con did you do a deep dive into the history of the
00:33outlander world before stepping into these roles or were you already fans
00:36i don't think any of us had seen it beforehand oh maybe you had a little bit
00:40i had seen it um because i was in i was gonna screen test for brianna back in the
00:47day but i had a clash with another job so i had i had seen it and then i revisited
00:50it we watched the entire thing we're kind of we're kind of nerds about it
00:55yeah yeah i had watched a little bit before but then i stopped watching it
00:59just after i got cast um just so i didn't pick up anything
01:03and uh yeah once i kind of found my character i uh got right back into it
01:08and yeah now we're like just two huge outlander narratives
01:11yeah inadvertently can't wait for season eight
01:14coming soon what was it like doing a panel yesterday and seeing just how
01:18excited outlander fans are for the show
01:20it was brilliant wasn't it it was so much fun i think it was so nice because often
01:23when you film something it feels like you're in a bit of a bubble and you
01:25don't really get to meet the fans a lot of the time so it was so nice to
01:29actually like be on that stage and like be able to see out into the audience and
01:32everyone was just so lovely it was such a nice atmosphere
01:34and like with the signing afterwards as well it was just the most welcoming
01:38thing it was like the first time because up until this point everything's
01:43been on the internet and it's not really you know been real so you see all these
01:46comments from people who are really enthusiastic but they're just names on
01:50instagram right and then you actually get to see these people behind that and yeah
01:55i think for me personally that made it really real and it was very very special
01:59and we got to watch outlander do the panel first so we saw them doing it on the screen
02:03and that was really special then follow after that and they came out and gave us a hug and
02:08like go for it so it's a nice kind of passing on baton
02:11re-transition wasn't it yeah it was nice
02:13what's it like filming in these just beautiful locations and how do you feel like it affects your
02:18performance oh man you kind of lean into the elements i think that's sort of part of
02:23the joy of it you're out in these beautiful landscapes and you're well i'm my character
02:28is normally in some kind of precarious situation and you kind of you can really lean into that
02:33and the moody atmosphere and the rain and the mountains it's really quite easy to i think
02:38yeah no i'm just going to echo echo that you know sometimes when yeah you're going through
02:43these really really tough things and then when it's pouring and it's absolutely freezing
02:46you're like well i can either hate this or i can use it and it's obviously much better to
02:51to use it did you feel any pressure stepping into the outlander world or were you just excited
02:55i guess i don't have pressure is the right word it definitely felt a little bit daunting i guess
03:00because outlander is so hugely successful it felt like we had kind of big boots to fill
03:05but like at the same time and i think overwhelmingly the support of the fan base is just such a joy
03:12and a privilege and it's so rare to step into something that has such a huge and enthusiastic
03:17pre-existing base um so i think we all feel really lucky and really supported by them what should
03:23outlander fans be most excited to see in this show i think original outlander fans will really love
03:28seeing the younger versions of the characters they've you know grown to love um because it's the
03:33journey of or it's a story i should say of how these characters got to that point you know
03:38and they're not the same people you know they'll see them like oh that's like young murta or young
03:42dougal young column um but they're completely different to the characters they know and i think
03:47they'll really really enjoy seeing that journey they go on to become um the ones they know it's
03:52also i think this series explores the political landscape of the clans in a really lovely way i mean
03:59even i can't really spoil it but even my character in some way that's the sort of i don't know
04:04you get a real insight into that and the different families and i think that's pretty special because
04:09it is such an ensemble of a cast as well can fans expect more steamy scenes in this show i mean it's
04:17outlander it wouldn't really be outlander without it yes but i think yeah it's very romantic and i think
04:25those scenes are important and they drive the story and they they drive the relationship i think they come
04:31often at really pivotal moments in these characters relationships um so yes yes it's the short
04:39answer even from the trailer it's like yes the steamy scenes are are in there they're teased you
04:44know a little bit yeah they do a good job with that don't they just like slipping in like don't
04:48worry we've got your we've got your back covered yeah and that scene is excellent i will add i've
04:53watched it with you both yeah that wasn't weird in the same room yeah never do that again yeah
04:58i want to do a quick outlander inspired round of this or that first one kilt or tweed jacket
05:05both are appealing options but i i like a kilt you can't be a kilt yeah kilt kilt kilt kilt
05:12and this is for yourself for a romantic getaway scotland or england scotland scotland
05:19we have to say scotland really don't we we do i'm like sweaty yeah yeah tea or whiskey whiskey
05:26whiskey oh tea i'm gonna say tea i don't love whiskey i wish i did sorry and if you had to
05:32pick one from outlander claire or jamie oh you can't ask us that i've got to go for claire she's
05:38my child i gotta go for my son yeah jamie oh that's not fair there's one each one each
05:44big moment big moment this is no pressure
05:47oh no you can say both can i can i say claire
05:53i've got to say jamie i've got to he's our son
05:59now i want to do some fun comic con popcorn questions from our crypto popcorn bucket so
06:08each of you grab one oh just oh would you want me to take this okay cool oh nice if you could have
06:13one superpower what would it be and why this is a really good one because i actually had this
06:18conversation with one of our eps maryl davis yesterday um i would love to be able to remember
06:26every single person's name that i ever meet how practical would that be come on wouldn't you rather
06:31be invisible or something yeah but then like i don't know i'm talking practicality like how often
06:37how often are you going to be invisible i mean like it would be cool to do but like how would flying
06:40yeah that would also be cool but then i like to think of the drawbacks like if you're flying
06:44does that mean you have like super eyes as well because they get like flies and wind in your eyes
06:48that's that's sexy yeah
06:51it's a very kind superpower that you want to remember everybody
06:56oh exactly yeah which is practical isn't it yeah
