00:00Competently run border than anybody's ever seen.
00:02The President makes it look easy dealing with illegal migration.
00:06You must be envious of his records such a short period.
00:10Well, I think we've been discussing irregular illegal migration is a huge issue in both our countries.
00:19In the United Kingdom, it is a real cause for concern, and that's why we must bear down on it.
00:25In all its aspects, upstream, across Europe, where a lot of ours comes into, through northern France, across the channel,
00:35working with our allies, with our colleagues to break the gangs that are actually running this trade,
00:41but equally being very strong that when people have arrived in this country who have got no right to be here,
00:47then we should be removing them to their own country.
00:51And that's why I'm really pleased that we've been able to focus on this very intensely
00:56and get 35,000 people out of the United Kingdom who had no right to be here,
01:02because the message has to be you can't make your way to the United Kingdom.
01:06We won't tolerate our rules being broken, and if you get here, you will be returned to where you came from.
01:14And it's really important that we bear down on that.
01:16We're such an attractive place where people come, because they want to go back to where, because we are all of them.
01:22People coming via the rules are always welcome.
01:26Of course, we've welcomed talent and people into this country for centuries, literally.
01:33But what the British people will not tolerate is those that break the rules,
01:38those that come through irregular routes, and that's the really important distinction here.
01:45And that's what we're bearing down on.
01:48And I'm really pleased that we're, through pretty well all of the international engagement I've done,
01:54all the meetings I've had, the country we've done deals with.
01:56We've done deals with countries in the last 12 months that many people thought it was not possible to do deal with
02:01when it came to immigration, irregular immigration.
02:06And we've returned thousands of people who've got no right to be here.
02:10And that, I think, is, for the British people, we're a reasonable, tolerant country.
02:18Where people are coming lawfully to contribute to our communities, to our country,
02:25then, of course, they're welcome and have made a great contribution.
02:28But what people will not tolerate is those that are breaking the rules.
02:32And that is an issue of today, but it's a very British thing.
02:37We are people who respect rules.
02:40We don't approve of those that break rules.
02:43Mr. President.
02:44I can say, though, that I had one of the greatest victories,
02:48they say, the most consequential in 129 years.
02:51So I don't know about that, but it was pretty close.
02:54And we won all of the swing states, which never happens.
02:58We won the popular vote by millions of votes.
03:00We won, you know, tremendous electoral college sweep.
03:03And I believe I did it more than anything else because of my strong stand on immigration.
03:09And I don't think this country is any different in that sense.
03:12I think it's a big factor.
03:15And it is with a lot of the European countries.
03:17Some of the countries have, you know, lost their way and they have tremendous crime because of it.
03:23I mean, you had countries with no crime that now have tremendous crime.
03:28And you know the countries and I know the countries.
03:31And so I think it's a huge factor in any election, not just this election, but in any election.
03:37I think the one that's toughest and most competent on immigration is going to win the election.
03:42But then you add, you add low taxes and you add the economy.
03:48He did a great thing with the economy because a lot of money is going to come in because of the deal that was made.
03:54But I think that, I think that immigration is now bigger than ever before.
03:59Mr. President, your Treasury Secretary is meeting.
