00:00One day, a professor walked into the classroom carrying a large glass jar.
00:05As always, there was a spark of intelligent curiosity in his eyes.
00:10The students were looking at him with great interest.
00:14The professor placed the jar on the table and brought out several large rocks from underneath.
00:20Each rock was about the size of a fist.
00:24He began placing them into the jar one by one until no more could fit.
00:29Then he looked at the class and asked,
00:33Is this jar full now?
00:35The students looked and saw that no more rocks could be added,
00:39so most of them nodded and said,
00:41Yes sir, it's full.
00:43The professor smiled and pulled out a bag filled with small pebbles.
00:47He poured the pebbles into the jar and gave it a slight shake.
00:52The pebbles filled in the gaps between the rocks.
00:55Again he asked,
00:57Is it full now?
00:59Some students hesitated a bit this time, but many replied,
01:03Yes sir, now it's really full.
01:07Next the professor brought out a bag of sand and began pouring it into the jar.
01:13The grains of sand filled all the remaining spaces between the rocks and pebbles.
01:19Once again he asked,
01:21Is it full now?
01:23This time the whole class responded together.
01:25Probably.
01:27Finally the professor took out a mug of water and poured it into the jar.
01:33The water seeped through the sand and filled the jar completely.
01:37He smiled and said,
01:39Yes, now the jar is truly full.
01:43Then the professor looked at the class and said,
01:47This jar represents your life.
01:49The big rocks are the most important things in life.
01:53Your family, your health, your deep relationships, and your personal dreams and goals.
02:01Even if you lose everything else,
02:03As long as you have these,
02:05Your life will still feel complete.
02:07The pebbles represent other important things.
02:11Your career, your house, your car, or your university degree.
02:17These are important too, but not as essential as the rocks.
02:21And the sand represents the small stuff,
02:25Like scrolling through social media,
02:27Unnecessary online shopping,
02:29Or day to day trivial activities that don't carry much meaning.
02:33He explained,
02:35If you fill the jar with sand or pebbles first,
02:39There will be no room for the big rocks.
02:41The same goes for life.
02:43If you spend your time and energy on the little things,
02:46Or less important matters,
02:48You won't have space left for what truly matters.
02:52Your rocks are the pillars of your life,
02:54Your family,
02:56Your health,
02:57Your dreams,
02:58Your passions.
03:00If you don't realize their value,
03:02And don't focus on them first,
03:04One day you may realize,
03:06You've left out the most important parts of life.
03:09The professor's final message was even deeper.
03:12Place your rocks first.
03:14They give your life meaning and foundation.
03:18Never let the pebbles and sand take their place.
03:20At the end of your journey,
03:22It's the weight of those rocks that will define the value of your life.
03:26So fill your life with things that nourish your soul,
03:30And fulfill your heart.
03:32The rest,
03:34The pebbles and sand,
03:36Are just external.
03:38After the professor finished speaking,
03:40One student raised their hand and asked,
03:42Sir, what does the water represent?
03:46The professor smiled and said,
03:50Great question.
03:52The water shows that no matter how busy life gets,
03:56There's always room for small moments of joy,
03:58Like having a cup of tea or coffee with a friend.
04:02Often we try to balance all our priorities,
04:04And fit everything into the limited hours of the day.
04:08We get so busy with everyday tasks and small matters,
04:12That we forget what's truly important.
04:14This jar,
04:16This life,
04:18Is not limitless.
04:20If you fill it first with sand and pebbles,
04:22There'll be no room left for the rocks.
04:24So I say,
04:26Place your rocks first,
04:28Your family,
04:29Your health,
04:30Your dreams,
04:31Your love.
04:32Make time for your loved ones,
04:34Take care of your physical and mental health,
04:37And follow your dreams and passions with courage.
04:41And in between,
04:43Remember to leave space for learning,
04:45Growing,
04:47And showing empathy.
04:49And the water.
04:51Those are the little joys,
04:53The unexpected laughs,
04:55The shared moments with friends.
04:57No matter how full life seems,
04:59There's always room for these tiny bursts of happiness.
05:03The pebbles and sand,
05:05They're necessary too,
05:07But don't let them replace the rocks.
05:09In the end,
05:11Remember,
05:12Life is not about being busy.
05:14It's about being meaningful.
05:16It's not about counting the days,
05:18But making the days count.
05:20Create a balance among the rocks,
05:23The pebbles,
05:24The sand,
05:25And the water.
05:26One that brings true joy,
05:28And completeness to your life.
