Young mother jailed for £120,000 shoplifting spree at Boots across London

00:00A young mother who stole products from Boots worth almost £120,000 has been jailed for 32 months.
00:0720-year-old Bianca Marica was part of an organised crime gang of female thieves,
00:12who loaded up bags of cosmetics in brazen raids on stores across London.
00:16Southwark Crown Court heard one of the gang distracted security,
00:20while the others cleared the shelves or acted as lookout before simply walking out of the stores.
00:24She admitted 18 counts of theft between December 2023 and May 2024,
00:30for goods totalling just over £119,000.
00:34But upon sentencing her to 32 months in prison,
00:37Judge Sally Ann Hales KC highlighted that Marica has been linked to a total of 111 incidents of suspected shoplifting.
00:44She gave birth in June while in custody and is now being held in the prison's mother and baby unit,
00:49where she will remain until the end of the year.
