00:00Glad to get pre-season games out of the way, but yeah, no, squad's gelling well, tried something new again today with the formation, gone back to like a 3-5-2, and yeah, I thought we caused them issues against the team, obviously, we'll be playing this season, so I think it's good to have that adaptability and yeah, look forward to next week against Stephen's.
00:20Has that been a formation you've been working on for a while, or is it something you've introduced this week?
00:23Yeah, only obviously because of needs must, I think with obviously the amount of injuries we've got, we've had a couple of days on the grass to kind of get used to it again, and no, I thought there was good spells, and obviously there was going to be issues, but no, I thought all in all, it was a good game, what we needed, and yeah, like I say, having that adaptability to be able to go between in the season will benefit us.
00:46Yeah, do you all feel up speed now, minutes in the tank, and obviously that's a must and part of it too?
00:49Yeah, 100%, I think I was saying to Hach then, I think this is, I played a lot over the last few weeks in terms of games, which is what I needed, and it gets me right up to speed, and yeah, just looking forward to the real stuff.
01:02How much did you miss it when you obviously had that few weeks off, was it, were you one of all players that are planning to get back?
01:07Yeah, well, like I spoke to you at the end of last season, I think obviously I was still playing well at the time, and the season probably came a little bit too early, but I finished a little bit too early, sorry, so for me to get back into things, I had a nice break with my family and stuff, but yeah, look forward to getting back into it.
01:22In modern new football, can you truly ever have a break?
01:24No, no, no, no, no, no, not at all, it's, yeah, as is the way now with football, it's difficult to really switch off, you need to keep yourself in good shape, which every single person did, I think, and yeah, everyone looks fit, obviously, again, unfortunate we've had a few injuries, but that's how it is.
01:44I suppose for yourself, when you've had such an impressive season, it's about doing the same things again and trying to keep going, you don't want to stop, you just want to keep ticking over.
01:51No, 100%, and obviously I was delighted that Niall could come back and obviously getting that relationship again with blocks, and obviously I'm sure there'll be some new signings coming through the door as well, and no, just really looking forward to getting back into it, and I'm sure hopefully there's a lot of optimism around the team, and we feel like we've had some good performances in pre-season, but now it's obviously time to knuckle down and start the season well.
02:16Obviously you and Niall obviously played well together last season, was you on the phone to him before we got done?
02:21A little bit, yeah, unofficially, but yeah, no, obviously I was bitten, well, yeah, I wanted him to come back, of course, because we had such a good connection, but I'm thankful that the club had been able to get him back, and hopefully we can pick up where we left off last year.
02:35Yeah, you got a good reception from fans, but I'm guessing you was times 10 of that.
02:39No, listen, when he texts me saying, oh, it might be done tomorrow, I was buzzing, of course, and for me, like I say, blocks again, and we've got some good attacking players, like Killian and Terry can step up as well,
02:55and for us, it's just about, if we get the chances, being able to put it away, and hopefully, like I say, there should be, hopefully some more signings coming in that can even give us even more going forward as well.
03:08Yeah, you mentioned obviously more signings coming in, but until that time, is there obviously that pressure and that responsibility from yourself,
03:13and Niall and obviously Killian and Terry to do your jobs and get that attacking floor going?
03:18Yeah, of course, but we know that we can, on our day, we're a threat in this league, and we showed that last year.
03:25For us, we just need to, if we can start the season off really well, sharp, and get firing, and then see where that takes us,
03:32and like I say, the optimism around the club at the moment is very good, and we know on our responsibility what we need to do this season,
03:40and fingers crossed, we can implement it.
03:42Did you finish pre-season with a goal today?
03:44Yeah, well, I'll claim anything, honestly, it's one of them things, but, no, to be fair, the keepers help me out massively,
03:53but if you don't want it, I'll check it, so it's interesting.
03:55I think that's a fair deal.
03:56Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll take it, yeah.
03:58What are you about, obviously chasing down, and not every day you get a bit of luck like that, but, you know, more often than not, you get rewards.
04:04Yeah, sometimes, of course, when you put the working up top, it's quite lonely at times, and you're doing it for the team,
04:11but, yeah, sometimes you get a little bit of luck, and, yeah, we needed it today, or everyone, especially the first half.
04:17We were pressing them really high up the pitch, and winning the ball off them, and maybe a bit unfortunate not to go in more,
04:23but, yeah, again, we need to work on and knuckle down on our set pieces.
04:28We conceded too many this pre-season again, but that's just teaming problems.
04:33We'll sort that out in training and go from that.
04:36Just counting down to Stevenage and all that excitement.
04:38Yeah, no, last performance against Stevenage was good.
04:40I think we won 3-1 away from home, so, yeah, no, we know what to expect from them.
04:45They're quite direct and got some really good players, so we'll prepare well starting Monday, and, yeah, hopefully a good performance at Blueco.
04:53Expect another hat-trick of assists.
04:56I won't promise that, but, yeah, that will be nice.
