00:00Hello everyone, player of the match Hannah Hampton is sitting down with UEFA at the moment,
00:16so we have brought obviously Chloe Kayley with us.
00:18Is that the best?
00:19No.
00:22Obviously we need to wrap up pretty soon, so if we could keep it to five, ten questions.
00:28Anyone going past?
00:29Emma?
00:30Thank you, Chloe, you always seem to enjoy these big moments, obviously you scored the
00:38iconic winner in the final in 2022, you scored the winning penalty here, what is it about
00:43you, England and winning European finals?
00:47Firstly, incredible game, incredible game of football, both sides really going head to
00:56head and two incredible teams fighting for everything and leaving nothing on the pitch and yeah,
01:04I just came onto the pitch and wanted to make something happen and I know Les' strengths and
01:13tried to put the ball in her head and then of course taking the penalty, I actually missed
01:19three penalties in training yesterday. But yeah, I think it's the belief in this squad, a whole 23
01:27players and the people that you don't see behind the scenes, the staff members to get us through this
01:33tournament. Yeah, I'm really proud to be English right now and I'm proud to be part of an amazing group of girls.
01:39We'll go to Sophie.
01:41Hi Chloe, congratulations. Thank you. I know you've been asked about this a lot in the last few months but I guess
01:47it's been a roller coaster of a year for you in terms of where you started in September and where you are now and I guess now you've got that medal around your neck, it's super special but I guess it makes the decisions you've made really count.
01:59Yeah, for sure. There were a lot of tears at full time especially when I saw my family because those are the people that got me through those dark moments and I'm so grateful to be out the back end but if that's a story
02:15to tell someone that may be experiencing something the same then tough times don't last and just around the corner was a Champions League final won that and now a Euros final won that.
02:27So, thank you to everyone that wrote me off. I'm grateful.
02:32Catherine.
02:38Hi, Chloe. Can I just ask you about Serena as well and how much she supported you because obviously she had those conversations with you at the start of the year about what you needed to do and she showed faith in you to bring you back in the squad and you've obviously repaid her with the goal.
02:49Oh, she's bloody amazing. She's an incredible woman what she's done for this country.
02:56We should all be so grateful for what she's done for me individually. She gave me hope when I probably didn't have any and she gave me an opportunity to represent my country again.
03:09I knew that I had to get game time and represent in England is never a given but what she's done for the women's game not just in England in the Netherlands she's done it and now in England but the whole women's game she's took it to a whole other level but the work don't go unnoticed from the staff that she has behind her.
03:30They're incredible people and I'm so grateful to have worked with such amazing staff members.
03:37Thank you to Kate in the front row.
03:40Hi, Chloe. Congratulations.
03:42Could you very quickly talk us through your penalty routine just how it developed why you do it and why I think it's so successful for you.
03:51To be honest it started when I was at Everton quite a few years ago now and it's something that just works for me I can't explain it too much I actually spoke with the one of the coaches the other day about it it's just my routine that works for me and I take my time I take my breath and I'm confident in that.
04:15Taking a penalty normal would probably feel a bit weird to me so it's just my routine sometimes you miss sometimes you score but I was adamant I was not missing too on a bounce.
04:26Congratulations.
04:30Hi, Chloe. Congratulations.
04:32Could I ask you about that thing you do spinning the ball back to the spot you did it like five or six times I don't want to get totally niche here but is that is that a thing that you do sometimes or is that what's that?
04:45What's kind of what's going on with that?
04:47Honestly it's just making sure that I'm ready not letting anyone take me off my routine and I spin the ball so I feel like it's right and then yeah when I when I am ready there's no amount of time it's just when I feel that's a that's the perfect one.
05:05Whether that would be ten times I'd make sure it's ten times so yeah I think it's just something part of my routine just like my breath work is and I try to stick to that routine as much as possible and believe in myself in those moments.
05:21Any more questions?
05:23We'll leave it there.
