01:36Very much with that mindset, really.

01:38I think it's business as usual for the players.

01:40You know, you don't get a chance when you come onto these tours to think of anything other than training the next game.

01:46The level's so high that even in these games we have to be very well prepared.

01:50We have to try and be at our best.

01:51So naturally, I think we're going to miss a player of Alex's quality and the group are going to feel that.

01:57There's no denying that and I can't sit here and claim that they won't.

02:00But they're a very professional group of players and they're doing brilliant as far as I can see in terms of managing the situation.

02:32How do you think he's fared and what sort of an opportunity is this for him?

02:35Yeah, it's a great opportunity to get more minutes than maybe he would if we had more players in that position,

02:39which is a great chance for him to showcase what he brings and what he's about.

02:44I thought today was a much better performance from him than the Celtic game.

02:48I thought he looked fitter and sharper naturally through the work that we've done.

02:53Had a couple of chances to score.

02:55His attitude was very good.

02:56He looked hungry to get in the right positions to try and score.

03:00So I thought he could be really pleased today.

03:02Is he ready to start the Premier League season up front if it comes to that stage and ISAC isn't fit or you haven't signed another strike?

03:11I think every player in our squad has to be ready to play.

03:13That would be my message to every single man in the squad.

03:16We don't have the biggest squad in the Premier League, so every person has to contribute and I'd have no hesitation in picking anybody.

03:41That's their sixth signing this summer and I think they're not finished.

03:44Is that a bit galling when you see the club doing so much business?

03:48I think from my perspective, you can never judge yourselves against other clubs.

03:52Other clubs will do what they have to do.

03:54We've got to try and do what we have to do.

03:56So we can only look at ourselves and try and execute what's best for Newcastle United.

04:01And in terms of getting ready for the season, how useful an exercise was that tonight?

04:04I thought it was a brilliant game for us.

04:06I thought the type of challenge we're going to face week in, week out,

04:10whether it be in the Premier League or the Champions League.

04:12So what better way to prepare for the season for the strength of competition

04:17that we're going to face?

04:20I was very pleased with a lot of aspects of the game today.

05:40I think the way we defended.

05:41I mean, Alex has scored their own goal, unfortunately,

05:43but the ball shouldn't have got into that situation for the second goal.

05:49I think it was a turnover possession for the first goal,

05:51and the third one's a penalty.

05:53Probably a decision we didn't have to make in the box.

05:55So I think they're easily avoidable goals,

05:57and I think that's a good thing for us

05:59because I think they're quite quick fixes.

06:01And then if you add that to some of our good attacking players,

06:03we could have scored more today.

06:04I think that's a great sign.

07:08Yeah, very much so.

07:09I think I wasn't really aware of any crowd issues coming into the game.

07:12For us, anyone that we see in a black and white shirt is gratefully received.

07:17I think we want to try and promote the club in a good light.

07:21We want people to watch us, enjoy watching us play and hopefully gain an attachment to us.

07:28So I think these tours are important.

07:30They're difficult for the players because of the heat and because of the intensity of the games,
