Kenyans hold 'cowboy and cowgirl day' to celebrate country music

Kenyans wearing cowboy hats and boots line dance at a country music festival in the capital Nairobi. Several local musicians, including popular artist Elvis Otieno, better known as Sir Elvis, took part in the event. "In this world full of confusion, full of drama, country music is the only thing that makes sense to me and it has made me find peace," says a festival-goer.

01:25Love me, I know
01:27There was a girl
01:29I'll lose so dearly
02:02I think people they found this is the most music where people they feel they are at home and people they love country music because it touches all sides of corner and also you can see it's a family thing you can bring your family and enjoy country music people they like wearing like cowboys you know it's a whole family thing.
02:30Country is one of the most listened to genre music genre so I encourage people not just focus on one type of music they should try other types of music because earlier then these other types of music did not speak to me as much as country does to me.
02:49And I always tell myself in this world full of confusion full of drama country music is the only thing that makes sense to me and it has made me find peace.
03:01By the look of things I see more people are getting into country because we have daily shows happening in the country now and more people are getting to know about the messages that country portrays.
03:13Because it's all about family, sad songs, love songs, heartbreak songs, it talks about life in general so that's why it's getting more popularity.
03:23Yeah, when I started out it was a very tiny genre.
03:28People used, yes there were country music programs on the radio and that was pretty much and people never got to get together like this in a setting like this and it's a dream country to me to see a crowd like this today you know.
03:43Yeah, I started from a very very small circle. There weren't so many country music artists either back then in the days but here we are. It's amazing.
04:13You know, probably pretty much a lot of sensuality.
04:30Yeah.
04:31Yeah.
04:32You're welcome.
04:34Yeah.
04:35Yeah.
04:39Yeah.
