00:00We just learned that Hulk Hogan passed away.
00:02I mean, when you heard the news, what was your first thought?
00:04Well, it was almost shock, because he was one of those guys who was larger than life.
00:10You just assumed, and he didn't appear to age.
00:13So you never thought that the last time you saw Hulk Hogan would be the final time you saw Hulk Hogan.
00:20And you guys obviously had your quarrels over the years.
00:24But from what I have read, I mean, you guys made up.
00:27I made it.
00:27Yeah, it was a really nice moment.
00:30I mean, it was a show, but I believe he was 100% sincere,
00:35because he not only apologized to me for something that was said at least 25 years earlier,
00:41but he insisted on apologizing to me a second time.
00:46And I mean, I accepted it, and I considered him a friend before that.
00:51But I definitely helped bond.
00:52It was a nice bonding moment for us.
00:54I know everybody's going to ask you, like, memories about Hulk Hogan.
00:58And obviously, yes, the legacy.
01:00But is there, you know, a moment that you guys shared outside of the apology and, like, the mending,
01:04but maybe professionally of you guys in the ring that, you know, that's what you think of when you think Hulk Hogan?
01:09Well, you know, the two things I think of is that I had a really nice talk with his daughter at one of these conventions
01:15and got to know her dad through her daughter, and also from reading his book, where I was like, you know,
01:22we're actually quite a bit alike.
01:24And the second memory is not something I saw, but it's something that a friend of mine who worked with Hulk in WWE before I got there saw.
01:33And I told Terry or Hulk that this was the one thing that mattered to me, like anything else.
01:38It's just commentary.
01:39But that Hulk Hogan, my friend, said, those kids from Make-A-Wish and other Wish organizations,
01:46they'd go in there and they'd just be beaming.
01:49And, you know, you can't feign the type of joy that Hulk brought to those kids.
01:54Like, that was real in his heart, which is why it seemed so effortless.
01:58But he was great at it.
02:01He made a lot of people happy, above and beyond what he did in the ring and for wrestling in general.
02:06He was great to those children.
02:09That's his legacy.
02:10To me, that's his legacy.
02:12Begins there, ends there.
02:14I mean, what has he meant to the sport?
02:17He's meant so much that we actually use him in setting our examples.
02:21When I was talking about Caitlin Clarks, don't they realize she's the goose that lays the golden eggs?
02:28It's like, I know not everyone liked it when Hulk came into town, but it was a sense of, like,
02:34hold on because we're going to greater heights than we ever imagined and this is the guy doing it.
02:39That's what he did for us.
02:40And, you know, I think everybody, if they grudgingly accepted it at first,
02:45they were really grateful for him when they saw, you know, the way the business had exploded.
02:51Obviously, a little bit of controversy with him over the last, you know, 10, 15 years, roughly.
02:56I mean, does that, do you see a separation between Hulk Hogan and Terry in that regard?
03:01Or are they one, and how does that affect his legs?
03:04Well, that's up to each individual, you know.
03:07I mean, I got some heat at the time for sending out a message saying,
03:11I know he's a good man who made a mistake.
03:14I think we all make mistakes, you know.
03:15I don't think anyone should be filmed in the inner confines, you know.
03:18It was, you know, I thought he was a good man, an imperfect man who did a lot of good in the world.
03:26And that's, like, that's how I choose to look at it.
03:29I mean, obviously, the news is all fresh, but, you know, once this really sets in and settles it,
03:35I mean, what are you going to be thinking about?
03:37Well, I'll be thinking about the times that I went to Madison Square Garden, not as a Hulkamaniac per se.
03:45I was going to see a couple of the other matches, but when that music hit, I was all in.
03:49I was a Hulkamaniac for those few minutes.
03:52But he electrified a crowd like no other, and the lessons that, you know, we learned from him,
03:59we passed down to the next generations.
04:01And so his legacy is alive and well in wrestling and beyond.
04:07Do you remember the last time you talked to him?
04:11It was like every time I talked to him.
04:13Hey, brother, we're going to get together for that dinner.
04:14Yes, we are.
04:15We never did get together for that dinner, but we were always thinking about it.
04:19Yeah.
04:19I mean, that's something we can send to people.
04:20If you haven't talked to somebody in a while, make sure you do it.
04:23Yeah, make sure you do it.
04:24All right, thanks for your time.
04:25Thank you.
04:25I appreciate it.
04:25Yeah.
04:26Yeah.
