IN THE PAPERS: The international analysing the Iranian crisis says that both sides seek to carry the banner of Islam to portray themselves as pursuing the ideal of a just Islamic state. During his Friday prayer sermon, Ayatollah Kamenei was in tears invoking the name of a disappeared Shiite prophet to suggest his government was besieged by the forces of evil.
