Thousands flooded the streets of Kuala Lumpur on Saturday (July 26) for the "Turun Anwar" rally, demanding Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's resignation.
Chanting slogans and holding up placards, protesters expressed deep frustration over surging living costs, broken promises, and what they see as a lack of genuine reform under the unity government.
00:00Thousands gathered at Dataran Merdeka on Saturday for the Turun Anwar protest,
00:10demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
00:14The rally came amid growing frustration over rising living costs and unfulfilled reform promises.
00:30We are not happy with the government.
01:00The present government, Anwar Ibrahim, so whatever they provide so not we are as a people we are not happy with the rule of the government.
01:13So that's why it comes for protests.
01:15What are you not satisfied about the current government that they've done so far?
01:20The first is never listen people wise. So that's why you're not happy.
01:25But at the same time the tax will be higher, the people will be, I think, with problems with the survival.
01:33I was with them and I, I, I, I bertanding. I had a cruise in PRU 13.
01:42I was with Anwar and I, I, I, kami sama-sama minta bebas bersuara, kami juga sama-sama turunkan harga minyak, kami juga sama-sama untuk turunkan elektrik, kami sama-sama juga nak hapuskan PT-PTN, memperjuangkan itu semua.
02:01Tetapi, and yet there's nothing has been done except for before we want to do this rally, baru dia cakap nak turunkan minyak which is September 6th.
02:14So I don't want to, to dilabelkan, cakap tak semua bikin. And I don't want to bertanggung, I don't want to tanggung tipu helah yang diorang buat, which is, saya tak nak terbabit.
02:28Sebab itu saya di sini, saya bersama rakyat, sekarang ini yang mana, dengan kehidupan yang susah, barang semua naik, so here I am.
02:37Because I'm very not satisfied with the current state of the government right now, with everything's going on and the empty promises, and I'm more concerned of the health, KKM.
02:48I have a lot of family members who's working in the health sector and they're very exhausted and they cannot voice out, because if they do, they might get thrown other state away from their family.
03:01So I'm just here to support all the doctors and the nurses who are very tired working.
03:07For him born, ingin mengeluarkan ekspresi kita, ketidakpuas hatian kita.
03:13Untuk menaikkan harga jualan kita, nak berbandingkan dengan harga barang, kadang-kadang kita rasa macam tak sampai hati pada pembeli-pembeli.
03:26Contoh macam sekarang ni, kos air batu pun dah naik.
03:50Sebab kerana semua harga naik.
03:54Lepas tu cukai pun dia kenakan lagi.
03:57Dulu janji dia lain, sekarang janji dia lain lah.
04:00Kita harap dia dapat turun lah.
04:02Carangan kita adalah, kalau boleh, kita kembalikan kepada Abah kita lah, Tan Sri Muddini Yassin.
04:09As public frustration mounts and economic pressures intensify,
04:14the government is now facing renewed scrutiny.
04:17Not only from political opponents, but also from the streets.
