Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on Members of Parliament (MPs) to foster a culture of respectful and civilised discourse in the Dewan Rakyat, free from insults and profanity.
Speaking at the finals of the 2025 Prime Minister's Cup Debate on Saturday (July 26), Anwar praised the participants for their eloquence, confidence, well-reasoned arguments, and effective use of facts—qualities he said MPs should emulate.
He added that values such as ethics and good manners must be deeply rooted in the national education system, noting that the vision of a Madani Malaysia cannot depend solely on artificial intelligence, digitalisation, or emerging technologies.
