Disgraced former Congressman George Santos has officially reported to federal prison to begin serving a 7-year sentence for wire fraud and identity theft tied to his 2022 campaign.

Before entering prison, Santos shared a dramatic farewell video online, calling his political career a “wild political cabaret” and joking, “Was it messy? Always.”

00:05In case you missed it, the disgraced ex-congressman George Santos pled guilty back in April
00:10to charges of wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.
00:14He was sentenced to seven years in prison and those seven years officially start today.
00:18And that before this man went out with one more wild headline making message.
00:22George posted on Twitter saying,

00:38Continuing on, he said to his supporters, you made this wild political cabaret worth it.
00:42And to his critics, thanks for the free press.
00:44He then goes on to refer to himself as a legend saying that he may be gone for now,
00:48but he'll never truly exit.
00:49And he ended his going to prison statement saying,
