3 million companies now use ChatGPT for work, OpenAI managing director says

OpenAI Managing Director, International, Oliver Jay told #FortuneAISingapore that ChatGPT is being used by over 3 million companies for work.

00:00The growth has been astonishing.

00:01A lot of times people might forget

00:03ChatGPT only launched about two and a half years ago,

00:06and now we have well over 500 million active users,

00:11and that user base is very, very global,

00:14Asia being the biggest portion of that user base.

00:18So we're seeing tremendous growth.

00:19What's driving it?

00:21Certainly there's that organic usage from consumers,

00:24but consumers are also bringing it into work.

00:26And so we're seeing tremendous uptake in businesses.

00:29We have now 3 million businesses using ChatGPT for work.

00:34That's just up from 2 million earlier this year.

00:38And so we're really, really seeing that kind of growth,

00:41which is why we're opening offices all over

00:45to better serve customers.
