00:00Week after week after week we come into this chamber and we talk about the most recent,
00:06the newest act of depravity that we see rain down on the people of Gaza by Israel.
00:13Week after week for 20 months.
00:16We talk in this chamber about children who have been shot in the head, shot in the chest by snipers.
00:24Children who have had to battle their way out of fires while their siblings and their parents burned behind them.
00:31Children whose parents write their names on their bodies because the parents are really conscious that if the family is wiped out,
00:39they want their child to know their family name, that it will live on with that child.
00:43And I think every time we talk about it in this chamber, we think it can't get much worse.
00:48Israel can't go any lower, and yet they do.
00:51Today's motion is actually a relatively small action.
00:54But what we would hope is that that small action, that sense of bravery from the Irish people would lead to other countries doing similar.
01:01And that at some stage we will get the momentum that there is a level of accountability for Israel.
01:06Accountability that we have not seen to date.
01:09That Israel recognise that people and countries are going to stand up and say,
01:13we see you, we see exactly who you are, we see what you're doing, and we're not going to stand by and allow it to continue.
01:19That we will do everything in our power to uphold international law.
01:23Because, Minister, if we don't have international law, what do we have?
01:28Where is the safety for anyone?
01:29The future demands that we take action.
01:32That when we look back and see what our role was, where we stood on this, that we can stand proud.
01:38That we know that we reflected the views of the Irish people.
01:41And we did what was right in the face of these horrors that we stood by international law and the people of Gaza.
01:49that it was bizarre.
01:49That alone is...
01:51the passion for our role in the race.
02:02To be sure enough, please give me together.
02:02Five seconds to ask, please give me a chance, please give me a chance, sweet list of the history.
02:09And we can deal with that, I guess, my first ever happened.
02:11That's wonderful.
02:12That's the wonderful title.
