Donald faces a dilemma about how to spend his paycheck: should he use it on luxury and entertainment, or save it to support the war effort? At this moment, two characters appear - one is an elderly duck representing seriousness and patriotism (the Good Spirit), while the other is a flashy, fun-loving figure symbolizing wastefulness (the Bad Spirit). Caught between these opposing influences, Donald tries to make the right choice.
