The 2025 World Games are fast approaching, and Taiwan' athletes are ready to shine at the event in China. This year, over a hundred athletes will be competing in sports like tug-of-war, finswimming and wushu.

00:01Taiwan's top athletes are ready to shine at the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China.
00:05It's a multi-sport event held every four years,
00:08which includes sports and disciplines not typically included in the Olympics.
00:12Before they head out, they're getting a flag presentation ceremony in their honor.
00:16This year, a total of 119 athletes will be competing in sports,
00:30including tagawa, wushu, fin swimming and jiu-jitsu.
00:33President Lai attended the ceremony to wish the athletes luck.
00:46During the speech, the president also highlighted past achievements
01:01of the Women's Tag Award team at the Games.
01:04With high hopes from Lai, the athletes are more determined than ever
01:25to claim their next goal, putting in extra effort during training.
01:34This year, as usual, the athletes will be competing under the name Chinese Taipei,

01:51However, there are worries that media in China may refer to Taiwan's team as Taipei China.
