Editorial | Hermanas Mirabal Forum, a call for concerted development

00:00Liston Diario presents the Editorial from the Director.

00:30Directoriality motivated Liston Diario to organize provincial forums and, in the Northeast,

00:35a regional one last year.

00:37Aware that diagnosing problems is not enough, we understood that it is essential to mobilize

00:42the government and the private sector as drivers of development in these efforts.

00:47We joined forces with the Universidad Católica Nordestana , and thus promoted

00:53the Maria Trinidad Sanchez Forum in Nagua two weeks ago, and today we are doing so in

00:58the Hermanas Mirabal Province in Salcedo.

01:02We hope that by bringing together the vital and driving forces of all the Northeastern

01:06provinces, we are laying the groundwork for a reformulation of the hitherto unmet demands

01:11that for years have reflected their aspirations for progress.

01:15For today's forum, five thematic panels will be held, at each of which specialists will

01:20present their ideas.

01:22We seek a concerted effort so that the initiatives emerging from this open and inclusive dialogue

01:26represent the sentiments of the province.

01:29But more than that, the ideal is for all the Northeastern provinces to be aligned around

01:34a common integrationist vision.

01:36We want the ideal of regional integration to be the inspirational spark for these forums

01:41and for this desired model to extend to the other regions and sub-regions of the country.
