The next Vice President of India is likely to be from the BJP, with the candidate expected to have a strong ideological alignment with the party, sources say. Amid the ongoing monsoon session, speculation around JDU leader Ramanath Thakur being in contention has been dismissed as baseless. BJP reportedly plans to field its own nominee, with no talks held with JDU leadership on the matter.
Transcript
00:00Now we're beginning the bulletin with breaking news coming in and this is with regards to the big question of the hour which is who will be the next vice president of the country according to sources.
00:10The next vice president will be from the BJP, that is what's being said.
00:14A person strongly connected to the party's ideology will be made the vice president.
00:19Speculations about JDU leader and union minister Ramnath Thakur are baseless.
00:24Thakur had a routine meeting with JP Nadda. Other MPs also met JP Nadda at the same time.
00:30And there has been no discussion with the JDU leadership about Ramnath Thakur or the future vice president.
00:35These are the details we are picking up at this given point as to who might be the next vice president of the country as Chakdeep Dhankar has in fact ended up tendering his resignation.
00:48He no longer continues to be the vice president of the country which came in quite a surprise on Monday evening as he tendered his resignation right at the very beginning of the monsoon session of the parliament.
01:00With that, Piyush Mishra joins us on the broadcast to bring us more details.
01:03Piyush, very good morning. We are learning at this given point. It's a scoop that we are in fact picking up that the next vice president of the country is to be one who has similar ideologies as the BJP and is in fact from the very party.
01:20What more are you picking up at this given point on this very matter?
01:23Good morning Shriyad to you and to all our viewers. I would like to rightly mention that yes, sources have indicated to us that the next vice president of the country would be from BJP only, from the ideological thinking of BJP and RSS only.
01:40And for that, the decision has not been taken by the BJP yet. There were some murmurs of Ramnath Thakur who is a senior JNU leader to be one of the choices for vice president.
01:51The sources have rejected all these claims. Sources have said that these are only talks that are going on and there is no base in this.
01:58And this basically had come after a meeting which took place between Ramnath Thakur and BJP's national president J.P. Nadar.
02:06Sources have indicated that J.P. Nadar keeps meeting various parliamentarians across party line because he is not only the BJP's national president but he is also the leader of the house in Rajasabha.
02:18So, his job is to keep meeting people, keep meeting parliamentarians and as far as Ramnath Thakur's name is concerned,
02:23on that the sources have rejected this claim that he could be the next choice for vice president.
02:29The sources in the BJP have also confirmed to us that the choice or the decision for the next vice president candidate would be made only and only after Election Commission of India notifies for the election of next vice president.
02:43And after that, the meetings will take place.
02:45For right now, you know, the government parity is to ensure the smooth, you know, functioning of parliament and for that, series of meetings are also taking place in parliament.
02:56Right, Piyush, thank you for bringing us all those details on this very breaking news that we are picking up at this given point.
03:02We also have some more details as to what exactly went down with this entire exit and what lies ahead.
03:13So, after Jagdeep Dhankar resigned from the post of vice president, big developments have been emerging from top sources.
03:31According to sources, the next vice president will be from the BJP.
03:36The upcoming vice president is expected to be aligned with the BJP ideology.
03:40Earlier, there were in fact speculations about J.D.U. leader and union minister Ramnath Thakur, as we were just bringing to you.
03:47However, sources have called those reports baseless.
03:50Ramnath Thakur's recent meeting with the BJP president, J.P. Nanda, was a routine interaction, is what's being said.
03:56There has been no discussion with the J.D.U. leadership regarding Thakur or the vice president's post.
04:02Meanwhile, many theories are also circulating about why Dhankar resigned in the first place.
04:06As per sources, the government made three separate attempts to dissuade the vice president from accepting the opposition's impeachment motion in the Rajya Sabah.
04:15BJP stopped brass Ayaj Dhankar to wait, but he remained firm on his stance.
04:20A key point of contention that added to the differences was the government refusing Dhankar's request to oversee the visit of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance.
04:28Another issue stemmed from Dhankar's vehicle plate, overhaul not being accepted.
04:33fanar's vehicle plate, overhaul not being accepted.
04:36The resignation of Dhankar's vehicle, now, from which I believe it is unfortunate.
04:37The vice president of India, the J.D.Vance.
04:42WHIPS PAYAGRIE, which is for the vice president of India.
04:48The vice president of India.
04:52Because the last time our Venter and Iidu had been asked for the government to make the government
04:59and they gave it back to Delhi.
05:02They gave it back to Delhi and gave it back to Delhi.
05:05They gave it back to Delhi and gave it back to Delhi and gave it back to Delhi.
05:09In the South and Khaas, there are many OBCs in India.
05:14I don't know why this happened.
05:17But this has been told that it's not good.
05:20But in the past, the body was not seen.
05:23But in the past, the body was not seen as well.
05:25They have written about health issues.
05:28But there are no issues that are not coming from.
05:31The day of the day, the people who met and came to the parliament,
05:36but in the first session, they were hospitalized.
05:40They were in the heart of their heart.
05:42So, in the moment, they could have been able to resign.
05:45But in the past, the session was not full.
05:49It was not so serious that we will not be able to do the session.
06:19He started packing right after his resignation was submitted.
06:23It wasn't accepted formally then.
06:25The former Vice President determinedly moves on, leaving behind unanswered questions.
06:30Let's take a look at this report.
06:44Jagdeep Dhankar remains in the headlines.
06:47Not only for his sudden resignation, but also for his actions post his resignation.
06:53The morning after his decision to quit, the power corridors of Delhi were rife with speculation of what led to his sudden decision to retire.
07:01The former Vice President made no appearance or interaction with anyone, despite requests from leaders of all parties to meet him.
07:08Notably, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut and Sharad Bawad were among many others who requested meetings with Dhankar on Tuesday, but were denied by his office due to non-availability of a time slot.
07:20Nearly 36 hours later, he spoke over the phone with Congress President Malik Arjun Khadgi.
07:27It was a courtesy call.
07:29Sources confirmed that the leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha had enquired about Mr. Dhankar's wellbeing and his health.
07:36The 74-year-old former Vice President had two more years left in his tenure when he resigned citing health concerns.
07:45Though the opposition refuses to buy the excuse the veteran Jat leader expressed in his resignation letter, Dhankar himself seems to have prepared his staff and family for retirement.
07:55Reports suggest that the former Vice President started packing his belongings right after he resigned on Monday evening.
08:03His resignation was not officially accepted at that point, but he seemed all set to vacate the Vice Presidential accommodation at the earliest.
08:11Determined to not turn back on his decision, Dhankar moved into the newly built Vice President enclave on Church Road, close to Parliament House complex in April of last year.
08:22This VP enclave, which houses both the Vice President's residence and his office, was developed as part of the Central Vista redevelopment project.
08:31After residing there for nearly 15 months, he is now entitled to a type 7 or 8 government bungalow in the Latian zone of Delhi.
08:39The electricity and water bills that the bungalow provided to the former Vice President were also covered by the government.
08:46Jagdeep Dhankar seems all set to move on, leaving behind loads of unanswered questions.
08:52Bureau Report, India Today
08:55Moving on now, we have breaking news coming in for you.
09:07Hate attack on Hindu temple in Australia.
09:10A filthy graffiti was sprayed on Swaminarayan temple, spiritual hub of Hindus in Melbourne.
09:16Defaced earlier, the hate attack assault on Indian student had taken place.
09:21Indian students suffered brain trauma in the very attack.
09:25From Adelaide to Melbourne, the hate down under.
09:28This is what we are flagging to the viewers at this given point.
09:31Swaminarayan temple in Melbourne, defaced at this given point as we are learning.
09:35Jithar Pardwaj, founder and editor in chief at Australia today from Melbourne, joins us on the broadcast to bring us more details.
09:44Jithar Pardwaj, a very good morning to you.
09:46This is another shocking attack that we see.
09:49A vandalism attempt, a rather filthy graffiti that's been used to deface the Swaminarayan temple.
09:58What exactly has been underway in Australia when we speak of such incidents taking place?
10:04See, it's very unfortunate that we are again talking about something very unpleasant to Indian Australian community, especially Hindu community here in Australia.
10:15I can tell you this act of vandalism war is allegedly done by a neo-nazi group in Melbourne.
10:24So, on the night of Sunday and Monday, they have targeted a number of installations including the Swaminarayan temple in Boronia, suburb of Melbourne.
10:37And this graffiti, which I don't want to actually read, but it's just despicable.
10:47That's what we can say.
10:48If you can see the face, it's Hitler's face there.
10:53These thugs have targeted a number of synagogues here in Melbourne.
10:59They have targeted Asian businesses and now they have targeted Hindu temples.
11:05It's unfortunate.
11:06It's deprared.
11:08I mean, I don't know.
11:11The authorities have left this lingering for almost a year, year and a half.
11:17They have let everyone do what they want to do in the pretext of freedom, freedom of expression, freedom to say whatever you want to.
11:28And now what we are seeing is hateful actions by these groups, be that the thugs of Nazism or be those thugs of Khalistanism.
11:41They are all over and they have freedom to do what they are doing.
11:45And authorities simply come and just write a report, take the CCDV footage and arrest and bail.
11:52This is the norm these days in Australia.
11:55Right.
11:56Right, Jhita.
11:57So at this given point, when we see activities of this kind from elements of this sort, they are criminals at this given point, if we are to in fact describe them.
12:08The point is, what is the Australian government?
12:11What is the Australian authorities doing to even keep this in check?
12:14Freedom of expression cannot be expressed in a way where it vandalizes public property, where it harms a certain other individual in the society at this given point.
12:24But where is the Australian authorities stepping in to a provide protection and also maintain law and order?
12:31See, it's a multiple thing.
12:34Police has a certain job.
12:36If this kind of incident happens, then they come in, they arrest people and the laws are so lenient there.
12:44These thugs are left on bail immediately within a day or within a few hours.
12:50The political leadership is to blame for this.
12:55The premier of Victoria, Jacinta Allen, she has issued a Masses to the Swaminarayan Temple saying that she stands in solidarity and a community like us is part of a strong Victoria.
13:12These hate crimes doesn't belong to our place.
13:15All these are good.
13:16But when it comes to a very strong action, that's what is missing.
13:22And I can tell you the law and order responsibility of the state governments and then state governments are probably so lackluster in their attitude towards these thugs that they come again and again and again.
13:37And I have to come to you every time when some negative incident is happening with Indian Australians or Indian Hindus in particularly.
13:47Right, Jithar.
13:48Thank you for bringing us all those details and putting forward your insights as to what exactly is underway in Australia when we speak of such series of attacks taking place, instances of vandalism taking place there and how the authorities are reacting to the same.
14:02Now from one shocking incident to another while we were speaking of Australia, let's take you now to Ireland.
14:17Shocking race attack on Indian in Ireland.
14:20Dublin thugs strip and batter an Indian there.
14:24Falsely accused of preying on kids, attacked Indian in his forties, left wounded and bleeding.
14:30Dublin cops launch hate crime probe at this point.
14:33This is what we are picking up and there is in fact a reaction as well that's come into this very story.
14:37Let's first take a look at it.
14:39I was driving over to my mother-in-law and I saw maybe 30 teenage young flas at the roundabout, three or four cars parked up, maybe five or six adults and one particular woman all shown.
14:54Then I saw this man standing there completely dripping in blood from his head right down to his toes.
15:02His entire body was covered in blood and it was pouring blood out of his head.
15:07He was attacked from behind by these, I don't know what you'd call them, I love animals so I wouldn't call them animals, by these absolute scumbags.
15:17They punched him in the head with what I can only assume was a blade between their knuckles.
15:23He went down to the ground, he was badly injured, completely covered in blood.
15:30I'm going to guess he's got massive head injuries because the blood did not stop pouring from his nose the whole hour that I sat with him waiting for an ambulance, an hour.
15:38I gave him a blanket out of my car, I gave him a pair of cycling shorts I had in the blue to put some compression on the wound and the police claim I got gloves.
15:48I sat with him and I told him the whole time that he was going to be okay and I was so sorry that this had happened to him.
15:54They stripped him of his clothes, they took his trousers off him, they took his underwear off him, they took his shoes, they took his phone, they took his bank cards, they took everything.
16:05Four Indian men and another man have been facially stabbed by this gang of teenagers in the last four days in Tala.
16:17Now how many of you knew that? How many of you heard about that on the news?
16:22So your teenagers from your area are going around stabbing innocent men in the face.
16:31It's a horrifying account that's been in fact given by an eyewitness of this entire incident.
16:39Pranay Upadhyay joins us on the broadcast to bring us more details on this very attack that's taking place.
16:43Pranay, very good morning to you. Let's try and understand what exactly has gone down here.
16:48It sounds like an extremely gruesome and brutal attack that's taken place as the eyewitness was also mentioning.
16:55And there is now a probe that's been launched. If you could just bring us some more details as to what exactly has gone down.
17:02Shreya, as you can make out from this report, the women from Ireland have posted on a social media account calling it out how the recent series of attacks targeting the Indian National.
17:16But as far as this case is concerned, what we have learned is that the Indian National, who's in his 40s, was set upon by a gang of male teenagers on Saturday at around 6pm.
17:28And they left him in his blood and bleeding from multiple wounds, as the woman who posted this video has also pointed it out.
17:43And before, you know, the passerby came and he was rushed to hospital, he's undergoing the treatment right now.
17:50His identity has not been revealed as yet. But what we have understood that he was working for a for a multinational company for the delivery job.
17:59And he was targeted as it is being reported from the local sources that a group falsely accused him of misbehaving with children.
18:08And that was the trigger because the children were playing in the playground.
18:11And then it led to this unprovoked attack against this Indian national.
18:15Definitely, it is very concerning for the Indian community residing in Ireland and in Dublin area because Salat is close to Dublin.
18:23And the Indian ambassador, Achilles Mishra, has taken up this issue with the Irish authorities as well.
18:28And also, he had a meeting with the Indian community and assured them of all possible help, not only in this case,
18:35but also to ensure the safety and security of the Indians who are residing in Ireland.
18:40So definitely, this is not about a one isolated incident.
18:44There has been increase in the racial attacks in anti-immigrant, you know, not only protests, but the violent attack against the immigrants.
18:54So this is a more concerning trend. Yesterday, we have seen that how in Australia, a young 23-year-old Indian student was attacked by the locals.
19:05We do not know, you know, how they have managed to get the bail even and most of them are not being arrested as yet.
19:14And again, we see yet another incident is also being deported from Australia of another racial slur.
19:21We were just bringing that to our viewers, Pranay.
19:24But yes, thank you for bringing us all those insights into what exactly has been on and underway in Ireland when we speak of such attacks and that too based on unfortunate racism that we see.
19:37And yes, this is one such instance that's also coming to the forefront, a rather unfortunate one.
19:42The probe has been launched into this very attack which continues and we will keep a track of it here.
19:47With that, viewers, we are now shifting closer home to another news that's coming in at this point.
20:00AIMIM Nita's terrorist jibe at Kavaryas.
20:04AIMIM slams hooliganism by Kavaryas.
20:07AIMIM Nita has said, and I quote, jail unruly Kavaryas.
20:12Kavaryas are fake Hindus.
20:14Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi slammed Moharam hooliganism as well.
20:17So this, in fact, comes out at this very point while the Kavaryas has been underway.
20:23And this is another Nita coming out to say that one needs to keep the hooliganism of these Kavaryas in check.
20:30And the only way to do that is to jail these people.
20:33Let's quickly take a look as to what exactly has been said, post which we will proceed with the conversation.
20:39We should say that we should say that you have said that you have been killed in Moharam.
20:46Come and learn from Hindus.
20:48We are seeing that we have said that we are seeing that we have said that we are not Hindu.
20:56In the sense of Hindu people, they are being kidnapped,
20:57People are not Hindu, but do not Hindu.
20:58We are seeing that we are built by Hindu institutions,
21:01They are a built by Hindu religion,
21:02and they are intoxicated by Hinduism.
21:03In the sense of Hinduism,
21:04They have been retrouved by Hinduism.
21:05They have been persecuted.
21:06They have hidden people,
21:09abellified people,
21:11There are people
21:13They have used asylum to do their life in jail.
21:15He's a person who is a victim, who is a victim, who is a victim, and who is a victim of people in the country.
21:24The reason why the violence was because of the violence and the violence, the violence and the violence was not going to die.
21:33No one didn't say anything, but you can see this second.
21:40The violence was going on.

22:42the fact that even compared them to
22:44hooligans and terrorists at this point.
22:47Another exactly
22:48controversial remark has come from
22:50AIMIM Uttar Pradesh Chief Shaukat Ali.
22:52He has referred to kamariyaz
22:54as terrorists and troublemakers
22:56who are causing chaos across the country
22:58and disrupting people's lives.
23:00He was in Sultan for yesterday
23:01where he demanded that cases be registered
23:04against these individuals
23:06and they be sent to jail, stating that
23:08this is the only way to deal with them.
23:10Shaukat Ali also criticized the U.P. government
23:12led by U.P. CM Yogi Adityanath
23:14for its stance on Kamanyatra and
23:16Moharam profitions. He pointed out
23:18the hypocrisy in the government's approach
23:20saying that while CM Adityanath
23:22criticizes Muslims for their practices
23:24during Moharam, the same government
23:26fears to address the alleged misbehavior
23:28of kamariyaz. Additionally, Shaukat Ali
23:30also questioned the government's priorities
23:32stating that while schools are being
23:34merged, liquor shops are being promoted.
23:36So he was in a way targeting the kamariyaz there
23:38and calling them troublemakers
23:40and terrorists. While on the other hand, we saw
23:42the bite of Yogi Adityanath
23:44today in Varanasi, where he questioned
23:46those who were calling
23:47kamariyaz as troublemakers
23:48and terrorists and questioning
23:50the Moharam profition. Back to you.
23:52Right, Samad. Thank you for bringing
23:54us all those details and putting this
23:56very news into context for our viewers.
23:58For now, that's all we have
24:00on this very piece of news that we are
24:02picking up. We'll keep a track of it.
24:10Moving on and with our focus more specifically
24:14on the state of Uttar Pradesh.
24:16U.P. cop in Love Jihad ring
24:18is what we are picking up at this point.
24:20Uttar Pradesh crime branch cop
24:22axed over the Changur League.
24:24Inspector Abdul Rahman has been suspended,
24:27shielded. In fact, the accusations
24:29coming to the forefront against him
24:31is that he shielded, accused,
24:32who forcibly converted girls.
24:34Abdul Rahman threatened conversion
24:36victim himself. This is what
24:38we are learning. This is with regards
24:40to the Changur Baba case
24:42where, remember, there were several
24:43of such police officers
24:44whose names were also coming
24:46to the forefront about how
24:47they were in on this entire
24:49nexus and how it used to be
24:52functioning. They were very aware
24:53of it and they were the ones
24:55who used to shield it from
24:56the government officials so that
24:57it, in fact, could proceed
25:00with their operations without
25:01any hindrances at all.
25:03Ashish Srivastava joins us
25:04on the broadcast to bring us
25:06more details. Ashish,
25:08a very good morning to you.
25:10Please take us through the
25:11details that we are picking up
25:12on this very particular
25:14police officer, the crime
25:17branch police officer, in fact,
25:19and how he used to aid
25:21this very operation. It's also
25:22being said that he himself
25:24ended up threatening one
25:25of the victims.
25:30Yeah, of course, and Abdul
25:32Rahman Siddiqui, he was
25:33appointed in Ghaziabad in that
25:35moment when this case was
25:37reported earlier. And that
25:39time the victim was, you
25:41know, involved, involved in
25:43the conversion case. In that
25:45moment, she alleged that this
25:47person, this cop who has
25:50sealed the accused during on
25:53that moment when she appealed
25:55when she requested to police
25:57police officer. And now, the
25:59after the long investigation,
26:01which was running in this
26:02case, crime branch inspector
26:05Abdul Rahman Siddiqui, who has
26:07been now suspended now. And
26:09even the investigation is
26:11going on in this case, because
26:13it is alleged that in this
26:15case, the conversion racket who
26:17has spread across UP and this
26:20connection is also connected
26:22with Mehret and Ghaziabad also.
26:24So it has seen that in that
26:26moment and victim was
26:27requesting about help and she
26:30wanted to justice. But
26:32unfortunately, in that moment,
26:34this cop, this crime branch
26:36inspector was not, you know,
26:38coordinating and even, even
26:40as putting pressure that she
26:43should be converted. Even this
26:45kind of dialogue has been
26:48exchanged with her. So that's
26:50that's time. It was running and
26:52for a long time. And the
26:53investigation was on in this
26:54case. And finally, it has been
26:56suspended. So this case, which
26:59is running in across UP related
27:01to Chhangur Baba, it means that
27:03those officers who are involved
27:05in this whole scenario are
27:06being, you know, searched or
27:08are being investigated because
27:10it has already told that in
27:12many people from Balrampur area
27:14and other city are involved in
27:17this Chhangur gang. So one by
27:20one, they are being investigated
27:21by the top cops and and this
27:24this was because it has seen
27:26that the police officers also
27:28have stated that nobody will be
27:30saved in this matter who are
27:33involved in Chhangur's gang or
27:36Chhangur's help. It means that
27:39he was just shielding those
27:41accused who were involved in
27:43this conversion racket. And that's
27:45the action has been taken
27:46against to the this right
27:48Ashish, uh, crime branch
27:50specter, uh, in this time. Oh,
27:52right. Right. Thank you for
27:54bringing us all those details as
27:55to how things in fact went about
27:57when we speak of this very crime
27:59branch officer and how he was
28:00involved in this very wide nexus
28:03that was operating from Balrampur.
28:05With that viewers, that's all that
28:06we have on this very piece of news
28:08right now. We are keeping a close
28:09track of the Chhangur Baba
28:10investigation that is currently
28:12underway.
28:21Moving down south and taking your
28:23focus to the state of Kornataka
28:24next. There is breaking news
28:26coming in Bengaluru. Pervert has
28:28now been arrested. Well, this is
28:30in connection with how this person
28:32the accused filmed women in public
28:34places and posted on Instagram.
28:3719 year old Dilawar Hussain has now
28:39been arrested. The teen operated
28:41Dilbarjani 67 for Insta obscenity
28:45and used Bangalore nightlife tagline
28:48to promote the handle. Delivery
28:50agent filmed women at posh
28:52Bengaluru spots. Girls were filmed
28:55in MG Road, Church Street, Brigid
28:57Road. Pervert used video of girls to
28:59boost followers and this was quite a
29:02concerning trend and now from what
29:04we understand this very person has
29:06now been arrested. Sagairaj joins us
29:08on the broadcast with more detail. Sagaira,
29:09very good morning to you. As we
29:12understand, as we are given to
29:13understand, this man has been, this
29:15teenager rather has been arrested at
29:16this given point. Take us through how
29:18he used to operate this very handle
29:20and all the information that we have
29:23on this very person.
29:25So what we get to learn through our
29:27police sources is that this pervert who
29:30has been identified as Dilwar Hussain,
29:32a resident of Bhairati in Kotunuru area in
29:36Bengaluru, used to record the girls in and
29:41around NG Road, Church Street and Brigid Road
29:43and used to upload all those videos on
29:47social media stating that nightlife in
29:49Bengaluru and used to handle an account
29:52called Dilbarjani 67. Holders which was
29:56wanting social media took cognizance of this
29:59social media account and immediately tracked
30:02his Avera bus and found out that it was
30:0619 years old Hussain who was originally
30:09from Manipur and he was staying there and
30:11whenever he used to travel across
30:13Bengaluru, he used to take videos of girls
30:16and upload on social media for more likes
30:18and more followers. And he used to record
30:22from behind all women whenever they used to
30:25walk without their knowledge and used to
30:27get a lot of followers and likes. So, for all
30:30those things he was doing, uploading these
30:32videos and told it to cognizance and
30:34immediately arrested him and taken into custody.
30:36Right, Sagay, this is indeed, you know,
30:39alarming at this given point but while we're
30:41speaking of this very person and how he
30:43operated, the other question that also comes
30:46to mind is the matter of consent and how
30:49social media platforms. Sagay, I will come back to you.
30:53Let me quickly bring in Brinda Adige who's joining
30:56us on the broadcast into the conversation as
30:58well. Ms. Adige, thank you for speaking to us
31:00on India today. A very good morning to you. This
31:02is a concerning incident, a series of
31:04incidents of Instagram account that had been
31:07flagged and reported. This very person, a
31:10teenager as we are learning at this given
31:12point used to shoot these women in different
31:14places. But I was asking my colleague this
31:17as well and I'm going to pose this question
31:18to you as well. You know this highlights a very
31:21crucial problem at this given point. The fact
31:23that how social media platforms and certain
31:27norms there have allowed people, have given
31:30people this access to shoot anybody even
31:33without their consent and put it out there. I
31:35think that is also being highlighted in this
31:38very case and it's alarming at this given
31:40point how these people end up operating and
31:42making use of platforms in this negative way.
31:45You are absolutely right. It is very, very
31:48alarming because of this very dangerous
31:51trend where the impunity is so high that you
31:56can videograph somebody without their consent
31:59and permission and then put it out into
32:01public space. They have no fear of law because
32:05we have not really showed that it is a
32:08punishable crime. And then as teenagers we
32:12also let them off because our laws are made
32:15of conflict with law. So if there is a minor
32:18in conflict with law then the punishment
32:20is different. But what about the education?
32:23Why have we not given them the education
32:25that taking videos without permission,
32:28putting it on public space is a punishable
32:31offence? One. Two, we must not forget that
32:34there are several sites which buy these kind of
32:39videos and then sell them as soft pornography.
32:42And they make use of minors. And those sites
32:46are not pulled out also or not pulled up
32:49because our IT laws still require to become
32:52more progressive and action oriented because
32:56we are still now struggling with a lot of
32:58evidence. Now these two things are very
33:01important. One is education assuming that you
33:04know they are doing it without knowledge. But
33:06two is the people taking advantage of minors.
33:09And three, no fear of law for either the
33:12perpetrators, minor or adults. No fear of
33:15law for these sites that allow for these
33:17things to happen. We know for sure that this
33:20is wrong. Then why are they allowing it?
33:23Whether it is my personal Instagram or any
33:25other social media. The sites need to be
33:28pulled up. These social media platforms are
33:31not at stake. They have nothing at stake. Nobody
33:35will tell them anything. So this goes on rampant.
33:38Now somebody has to look at it and somebody
33:40has to complain. Why does it take my cyber
33:43police such a long time to look out on these
33:46things in this age and time of AI? We must
33:49question the state. Right. Ms. Aadike, thank you
33:52for in fact highlighting where the
33:55negligences lie at this given point and what
33:57this very case also highlights at this
33:59point. Thank you for speaking to us and
34:01well viewers, that is the big update that
34:04we are bringing to you of this pervert now
34:06having been arrested in Bengaluru after
34:08continuing to post such videos of women
34:11from different parts of the city. Viewers,
34:22welcome back. You're watching the burning
34:24question on India today and at the very top
34:26of this segment, we're taking your focus to
34:28the poll-bound state of Bihar. Breaking news
34:30coming in from there. Chief Election
34:31Commissioner Yanesh Kumar's big defense on
34:34the Bihar survey. Poll body chief warns
34:37against fake voters. The Chief Election
34:39Commissioner has come out to say that
34:41pure voter list must for all fair polls. And
34:45he's also gone ahead to defend the purging
34:48of non-existent voters. This is a big
34:51message that's coming into the RJD to the
34:54Congress in the voter survey war that
34:56continues to only escalate. The Chief
34:59Election Commissioner Yanesh Kumar has
35:01warned against fake voters and has said
35:03that a pure transparent voter list is
35:06essential for fair elections and the
35:08protection of India's democracy. He questions
35:11whether the Election Commission should bow
35:12to the pressures and allow dead
35:14migrated duplicate or foreign voters to
35:16remain on the roll, stressing that the time
35:18has come for all citizens to think beyond
35:20politics and uphold the constitution of the
35:23country. This is what we are bringing to you
35:25at the very top of the segment viewers. Aishwarya
35:27Paliwal joining me on the broadcast to bring us
35:30more details and set it into context. Aishwarya,
35:33very good morning to you. This particular comment
35:36or remark that's coming from the Chief
35:38Election Commissioner at this given point, he
35:41has come out to not just defend the exercise, but
35:44also in a way uphold the constitution to say
35:47that fair voter lists is but the essence of
35:51elections, a sense of India's democracy at the
35:53end of the day. You know, we are seeing a new
35:56statement coming in from the CDC very clearly
35:58saying that if this is not done now, if a clean
36:01election is not done now, then when will it
36:03happen? He's also saying that there are a lot of
36:05political parties pointing fingers at the clean-up
36:08exercise which is being done. Not just that, he
36:10also at the moment is asking questions that do
36:12you not want a clean electoral roll? Now, the
36:15figure which has come out, let me tell you in that
36:17figure a lot of people are dead, a lot of people
36:19are voting not just at one place but at multiple
36:23places and some of them have permanently moved. In
36:26fact, the election commission, the data is also
36:27pointing to us to fact that we are now seeing some
36:30of the people who are not Indians, they too have
36:32been voting. So, do you want a clean election
36:34electoral roll or not? That's the big question
36:37that is coming in from the Chief Election
36:39Commissioner, Kyanish Kumar. Right, Aishwarya, thank
36:42you for bringing us all those details. With that,
36:44viewers, we will also take you through what
36:46Tejish P. Yadav has to say on this very Bihar
36:49voter list, the exercise that is currently in fact
36:52under way. Let's take a look.
36:55The Prakriya that is happening, we do not
36:58do the Prakriya. We do not do the Prakriya.
37:02We do not do the Prakriya. But the Prakriya, the
37:05Prakriya that is leading this
37:32Shifting focus now to the Prime Minister's visit to the United Kingdom.
37:38Prime Minister Modi has reached London for his two-day visit to the United Kingdom
37:43as a part of his four-day two-nation tour.
37:46Now, Prime Minister received a rousing welcome from the Indian diaspora in the United Kingdom.
37:51Thanking them, Prime Minister Modi called the reception heartwarming.
37:54Indian diaspora expressed joy and admiration after meeting the Prime Minister.
37:58Several even welcomed Prime Minister Modi with traditional performances.
38:01Next, Prime Minister Modi will meet UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
38:05He will hold crucial bilateral talks during which the India-UK trade deal is also expected to be signed.
38:11Now, discussions will also be covering the entire gamut of India-United Kingdom relations at this point.
38:17As part of the trade deal that we are speaking of,
38:20talks are underway to eliminate 99% of tariffs in Indian goods entering the United Kingdom.
38:26The deal will cover the full scope of bilateral trade
38:29and in return, India will cut duties on 90% of British products.
38:33Within the next 10 years, around 85% of British products will be tariff-free in India.
38:39Apart from trade, other key discussions also include the extradition of Indian fugitives from the United Kingdom.
38:45India is also expected to continue flagging the issue of Khalistani extremism with the United Kingdom counterparts.
38:51And after these engagements, Prime Minister Modi is expected to be hosted personally and separately
38:57by both Prime Minister Starmer and King Charles III.
39:00Like this, 15 buses full of people from 9 to 10 locations in London are going to welcome Modiji.
39:11And I'm here with some of the people.
39:12They don't have too much time in hand.
39:14This is a short trip indeed.
39:16And people have had less time to get together.
39:19But apparently, 500 to 600 people, I'm told, will be there and welcoming Modiji.
39:26And I've got here a very little, small, cute girl.
39:29Swecha, what are you doing?
39:31I'm doing a dance.
39:34Okay, what dance is it?
39:38Bharat Natya.
39:39Bharat Natya.
39:40And I have one more dance here.
39:41Can I just get on this?
39:43So what are you performing?
39:44What's your name?
39:44I'm for Born in here.
39:46I'm performing a dance.
39:47That's right.
39:48Okay, what any, what dance is it?
39:50And what's your message for the performing dance?
39:53It's a very matching dance.
39:56Can't scream out your message if there is any.
39:58Welcome to Modiji.
40:00Welcome to Modiji.
40:02Happy birthday.
40:03Happy birthday.
40:05Happy birthday.
40:05Happy birthday.
40:06Happy birthday.
40:06Happy birthday.
40:07Happy birthday.
40:07Fabulous.
40:08Bandai Matram.
40:09Bandai Matram.
40:10Bandai Matram.
40:13Bandai Matram.
40:14Bandai Matram.
40:16Bandai Matram.
40:18Modi Modi.
40:19Modi Modi.
40:19Modi Modi.
40:20Modi Modi.
40:21Modi Modi.
40:22Modi Modi.
40:23Modi Modi.
40:24Bharat Mataki.
40:26Yay!
40:27Just to welcome him here and just saying thank you.
40:30India is developing so fast.
40:33And whenever I go, like everybody talks about India's development.
40:36So just want to say thank you.
40:37It's just an invitation to Narendra Modi.
40:46The place I belong to is Lakshm Rao Namdar which is his guru.
40:52It is just an invitation to Narendra Modi ji.
41:01The place I belong to is Lakshm Rao Namdar, which is his guru.
41:05That's what he has always said in few of his interviews, few of his speeches, and why
41:11I am going there to greet him today on this land.
41:17With that, Laveena joins me on the broadcast.
41:20Laveena, there is a lot of excitement.
41:27We could hear that in the background itself as you were taking us through the report and
41:31you were also taking us through how the Indian diaspora has gathered there.
41:36People are excited in the United Kingdom about the Prime Minister's visit to the country.
41:39Briefly, just take us through his agenda for the day before we in fact get into more in-depth
41:45discussions and key focuses.
41:47At the top of the agenda, there is of course signing of the Free Trade Agreement.
41:54The negotiations for which have been going on for far too long.
41:59It is expected that the two commerce ministers will be signing on the dotted line.
42:07Something to be remembered though is that once the agreement is finally sealed and stamped
42:12and signed, it has to be passed by the two respective parliaments, that in Britain and that in India as well.
42:22Number two quite important are the bilateral talks between the two prime ministers and these are
42:28going to take place in the first half of the day on the 24th of July and the talks are going
42:36to be about very important issues from education to defence, cooperation in terrorism but something
42:44that is interesting that we have been told is on the agenda and will be taken up by the prime minister of
42:51India, Narendra Modi ji is the issue of Khalistan and the unrest that it causes not only in India but also
43:00mainly in United Kingdom as well.
43:03Then is the issue of extradition of Vijay Mali and Narendra Modi.
43:08Dalit Modi, of course, there has not been any extradition proceedings against him but we have been told that
43:14that issue might be raised as well but that of Vijay Mali and Narendra Modi will be raised as well as a part of the agenda.
43:23Going forward now, this is the fourth visit of the prime minister here in the UK.
43:29It is quite important, especially significant going forward now that the FTA is going to be signed.
43:36So, it is strengthening of this partnership that will be the focus.
43:40Right, Laveena, thank you for bringing us all those details on this very big event that we are also keeping
43:47a very close track of as the prime minister proceeds with his day and the rest of the itinerary that in
43:53fact has been planned for him in this two-day visit.
43:56With that now, we are shifting our focus to a different story.
44:02A major political face-off erupts in Bengal over Mamata Banerjee's NRC claims amid the ongoing showdown
44:08over the Election Commission's electoral role revision.
44:11The Bengal Chief Minister has alleged a housewife in Alipurduar got an Assam NRC notice
44:17but the woman now says she never received any letter.
44:20BJP has slammed TMC for spreading fake news to stoke fear before the polls and India Today
44:24tracks that very political face-off.
44:31Amid the ongoing showdown over the Election Commission's electoral role survey in Bihar,
44:36a fresh storm is now brewing in neighboring Bengal.
44:41Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee recently put the cat amongst the pigeons by claiming that
44:46an NRC notice was mistakenly sent by the Assam government to a Bengali-speaking woman in Falakata.
44:53Calling it a conspiracy, she threatened legal action.
44:58Bangalore, the Assam, did the Assam government.
45:02This is unethically, unconstitutional, illegal.
45:09But the woman at the heart of the controversy, Anjali Shil, has told India Today that she never got a notice.
45:26Shil, a native of Dhupri district in Assam, moved to West Bengal after her marriage.
45:37She clarified that her marital home is in Falakata, while her father's family remains in Assam.
45:44Nobiro, we're Commission on theไฝฟillance of the Office of theรดngin and evil.
45:48But this was a lovely one.
45:52The
46:03Puman-patron comes up.
46:04The BJP has called out Mantha Banerjee's allegations, claiming it is a bid by TMC to create fear and spark unrest ahead of state polls next year.
46:33Calling her claims a deliberate and anti-national, the Saffron Party sought answers from the TMC Supremo.
46:40No official NRC in Bengal yet, but the politics around it is only getting louder in the run-up to next year's election.
46:49With Tapasen Gupta, Bureau Report, India Today.
46:55Well viewers, that's all on this edition of The Burning Question, but do stay tuned to India Today.
