00:08In a thrilling BMF Main Event, the number 5 ranked lightweight and current UFC BMF Champion

00:14Max Holloway collides with number 6 ranked contender Dustin Poirier in the Main Event.

00:18Dustin Poirier, 30-9, fighting out of Coconut Creek, Florida by the way of Louisiana, looks

00:23for a storybook ending against Holloway in his last fight inside the Octagon.

00:27Poirier is one of the most well rounded fighters in the lightweight division and brings in

00:32a very exciting skill set along with his durability, a BJJ black belt, solid boxing and true toughness.

00:40This is his retirement fight and expect fireworks.

00:43But on the other side of the Octagon, you have the former UFC featherweight champ and current

00:47BMF champ Max Bless Holloway, 26-8 fighting out of Hawaii and aims to spoil Poirier's sendoff

00:54and defend his BMF throne in dominant fashion.

00:57The former featherweight champion Holloway is a patient fighter with ultra-technical striking.

01:02He uses his cardio as a weapon with incredible output and uses his range to figure out his

01:06opponents with his impressive fight IQ and tonight he's looking for another highlight

01:11finish.

01:12Tonight's betting odds have Holloway coming in at a minus 110 favorite and Poirier comes

01:16in at a plus 120 dog.

01:18In round one Max came out early throwing some nice body kicks keeping range.

01:22And early in the round Max throws a right hand that drops Poirier.

01:26But in round two Poirier lands a knee that gets Max's attention early and he's right back

01:30in the fight.

01:31Both fighters landing now but Max throws a right that hurts Poirier and takes Poirier down throwing

01:36elbows on top.

01:38But again Poirier is back to his feet and he looks okay.

01:40And just like that Poirier lands a punch that rocked Max and Poirier jumped his patented guillotine

01:46and some ground and pound as the round ended.

01:49Wow.

01:50The real story of the night was the back and forth with each guy hurting each other all

01:52five rounds.

01:53It was a crazy war all night with both guys continuously trading the lead.

01:58Max did a great job throughout the night working the body of Poirier and all his weapons were

02:03on full display.

02:04Both fighters were trading shots in round five.

02:07Again in a back and forth battle.

02:09And what the entire world was praying for with ten seconds left happened when Max pointed

02:14down to the center of the octagon.

02:16The crowd went crazy and they threw till the end.

02:18Hell yeah.

02:19Max Holloway defeats Dustin Poirier and retains his BMF title.

02:24Alright here's my final thoughts.

02:26These two have fought two times before with the same outcome and in both matches the diamond

02:30was victorious.

02:32The first fight was a long time ago in 2012 with a young Holloway and in the second bout

02:37with Holloway's first attempt to move up to 155 and the power difference was noticeable.

02:42But Holloway has settled into the lightweight division quite nicely.

02:45He's put some muscle on his frame and he's been very impressive especially in the dismantling

02:51and knockout of the century in his last bout against Gaethje.

02:54We all remember that.

02:56Would Poirier continue his dominance over Holloway or would Holloway finally get his revenge?

03:00Wow we have our answer.

03:02What an incredible back and forth war.

03:04Every time Max heard diamond he answered and vice versa.

03:07It was like this all night.

03:09Nobody could get the advantage they battled till the end in a close fight.

03:13What we saw tonight was such heart from both fighters and Poirier although he lost he still

03:18won.

03:19Well actually the fans won again thanks to his blood, sweat, tears and true sacrifice that

03:25he's made to entertain the world.

03:27He's still on top of his game and it's been an absolute pleasure covering his fights.

03:35Max is on top of his game and called Teporia for a title shot.

03:39I think that's a great fight but I would love to see him go up against Charles Oliveira.
