Scooter Braun has a message for Swifties who are still angry with him over the handling of Taylor Swift's masters. The music executive and former music manager made a recent appearance on Danielle Robay's 'Question Everything' podcast, where he opened up about the hate he still receives from Swift's fanbase years after the original sale of her catalog to Braun's Ithaca Holdings when he acquired her old record label Big Machine Label Group in 2019. The following year, Ithaca sold Swift's masters to Shamrock Capital for a reported $300 million, which the singer infamously criticized, leading her to re-record her albums.

00:00So if people didn't know you from your work with all these artists like Bieber and Ariana,

00:42which the singer infamously criticized, leading her to re-record her albums.
00:47Braun told Robay of the incident,
00:48You know, me even talking about this now, there's going to be yelling and screaming and this, that, and the other.
00:54You can't say anything right, and it is what it is.
00:57My response to that is they made the horrible miscalculation that I care.
01:01You know, I don't know those people out there,
01:03and if I met them in person and they needed my help as a stranger, I would help them.
01:07Most of the time, when people actually sit in front of each other, the monster isn't real.
01:10He continued,
01:11I think people forget that when you have a fanbase that big and 10,000 people are yelling at you,
01:16it feels like the world is ending, but that's less than 1% of a fanbase that big.
01:20I think most people are dealing with their own problems.
01:23I think most people are dealing with their own insecurities the same way I am,
01:26the same way every artist and every human being is.
01:29And I think it's just a more productive use of your time
01:31to not get stuck in the craziness of celebrity fodder and focus more on being kind to people.
01:36You don't make a deal at that level unless you believe in her.
01:41You know, so I believed that she was going to become exactly who she's remained to be.
01:46Elsewhere in the interview, Braun said he believes everybody in the end one,
01:50despite the years-long feud.
01:51When she re-recorded, all ships rise in a world of streaming.
01:54So people were going on and they were A-B-ing them.
01:56They were listening in to see how much they sounded like the originals.
