00:00What is up, everybody? Welcome back to the channel. It's your girl Denise Salcedo, and right now with me is none other than the icon. It is Sting! Sting, first of all, it is so cool to be out here. Can I just start off by saying, the silver hair looks incredible.
00:17Thank you. Yeah, it's more white than it is silver, but, you know, anyway, thank you.
00:21Yeah, it looks awesome. It stands out right away. I loved it. From the second I saw it online, but it definitely in person did far more justice.
00:29Sting, right now you are going and making the rounds. It is the last and final time that you're going to be doing the conventions, the meet and greets, and with the face paint on.
00:38What has the experience been like for you so far to do this?
00:41Oh, it's been the most incredible experience ever.
00:45To talk to wrestling fans and hear 40 years worth of stories about some that have been bullied, some that were just abused in so many different ways,
00:58and wrestling got them through. So many of them, the only relationship they had with their dad or their mom or their grandma was watching me wrestle.
01:07And just the, you know, the bonding that happens watching pro wrestling, it's amazing to me.
01:14But the stories and, you know, grown men and women who are shedding tears over those types of stories.
01:20I mean, you realize, wow. I mean, when you're so young and going through it, you're just kind of, you know, going after everything the world calls success.
01:29And that's the, and you don't realize the seeds that you're planting and the example that you're making until like 40 years later.
01:39And wow, it really knocks me over.
01:41It is incredible. I was seeing all of the fans with your art dressed as you.
01:45And even at your retirement at Revolution, I was in the crowd and I was seeing, you know, fathers with their children and both of them wearing, you know, sting merchandise.
01:54And it was really cool to just to see that, you know, they grew up little stingers, their children are growing up little stingers.
02:00And when you think back, like, you know, obviously your retirement match was incredible. How has retirement been so far?
02:06Well, I'm retired, but I'm on airplanes like multiple times a month, especially 2025. I'm blowing it out here.
02:16But yeah, I mean, I've always loved real estate, so I'm still dabbling in real estate.
02:22And I'm going to get more serious about that coming up here soon, probably 2026 when I'm not traveling so much.
02:29So it's good because, you know, my body's healing up and I'm getting to spend more time with family and friends.
02:37And yeah, it's all good.
02:40So all in all is you haven't actually yet relaxed and enjoyed the retirement in that kind of fashion.
02:46Correct. Yeah. I tell people that people come up and they say, hey, you know, what's what's it like being retired?
02:51I go, the only difference is I pack my bag. The only difference is I don't put my knee pads in there.
02:56That's really it. You know, anyway, and I'm not a human Super Bowl anymore.
03:01Did you watch back your retirement match yet?
03:04No, no, but you need to know a fact about me.
03:10And the fact is that for 40 years, I've never watched hardly anything that I've ever done.
03:16I see certain things, you know, fans or family members or friends will send a video, a two or three minute clip of something.
03:24And, you know, I watch stuff like that. And I'm not saying I haven't seen like a whole match of mine, but it's rare.
03:31It is so rare. I just I mean, when I'm when I'm done, I take that hat off and go on with the next part of my life.
03:41So, I mean, it's just it's crazy hearing you say that.
03:44But at the exact same time, I completely understand.
03:46And then the memories you have are not the memories of you watching it back, but the memories of you in the moment.
03:52That's right. And, you know, I'm in the moment with these fans talk to hearing all these stories now.
03:58And I'm loving every moment of this. So it's been a great thing.
04:02You had a long day. And before I let you go, first of all, thank you so much.
04:05I do have one random question for you, and that is your pal Darby Allen has climbed Mount Everest.
04:12Have you had a chance to talk to him? And if so, have you? And then also your thoughts on that?
04:17Well, I mean, I'm not surprised that he made it there and back, although anything can happen on that mountain.
04:25Darby Allen, if anyone can do it, Darby Allen is going to pull it off for sure.
04:29He was in contact with me the whole trip. He was up there.
04:34He gave me a video of him at the top of the mountain, which I'm not going to say anything about quite yet.
04:40But, yeah, he didn't have any oxygen on when he gave me that.
04:45But he showed me a panoramic view from the very top of the world, and it was just like crystal clear.
04:51It looked like he was, you know, snow skiing or something. But no, this is way beyond that, obviously.
04:58So what is next for Darby Allen? Who knows, man? Space. The final frontier. I don't know.
05:05Sting, thank you so much for your time. It was wonderful to talk to you.
05:09This was a bucket list interview for me, so thank you very kindly for taking the time to chat with me. Thank you.
05:14Thanks for having me.
05:15Yes, of course. All right, guys. Well, there you have it. The icon, Sting.
