00:00It's been a dream role of mine since I was a young artist, and there was a revival back
00:07in the 90s that I asked to audition for and was told no, and they said, that's not the
00:13story we're telling.
00:14And I found that odd, and I did some research, and I found a book called Destined to Witness
00:19Growing Up Black in Nazi Germany, and I sent it to the entire creative team, signed, we
00:25were there, we are always there.
00:27Of course, I don't hear anything.
00:30It's all good.
00:31That was just for me.
00:32And my mom used to say this phrase all the time.
00:36She was very religious, and she would say, God's delay is not denial.
00:42And when this came back around all these years later, all I could do was think about that
00:46phrase that she said.
