Three men were killed and three others injured after a car rear-ended an SUV, causing it to overturn on the North-South Expressway near Tapah, Perak, Tuesday (July 22) morning.

00:08expressway near Tapa on Tuesday. Perak Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Operations Director
00:15Saburodzi Noor Ahmad said the accident occurred at 11.19 a.m. on the southbound lane and involved
00:22a car and a sports utility vehicle, SUV. The 31-year-old male driver of the car sustained
00:28injuries. Three senior citizens traveling in the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene,
00:34while two others in the same vehicle were injured. Tapa OCPD Superintendent Johari Yahya said all five
00:41occupants of the SUV were traveling from Ipoh to Kuala Lumpur. The 71-year-old SUV driver from Johor
00:48sustained minor injuries, while a 68-year-old Singaporean passenger suffered serious injuries.
00:55Superintendent Johari added that the SUV was in the right lane when it was rear-ended by a car,
01:02causing it to skid and overturn. The three deceased victims, all from Selangor, died on the spot.
01:08All injured victims received initial treatment at the scene before being sent to hospital Tapa for
01:13further care.
