00:00Welcome along to your afternoon weather update.
00:03Some places have seen a bit of blue sky, but for most of us, grey is the colour for today.
00:08And in places, there's a bit of rain around too.
00:10As the radar shows this line of rain, an old weather front extending from Aberdeenshire down across the Midlands early.
00:16It's kind of fizzling out as it works eastwards.
00:18Ahead of it, that's where we have seen some sunshine.
00:21Still reasonably bright across northern parts of Norfolk into the afternoon.
00:25And elsewhere, the cloud will break up a little bit at times to reveal some blue sky.
00:29But for many, it's quite cloudy.
00:31A few showers for Northern Ireland, Wales, South West England, and maybe some heavy ones developing on that old weather front as they get into parts of northeast England and eastern Scotland later on.
00:42Temperature-wise, well, close to the average high teens, low 20s, maybe a little higher across the southeast.
00:48Bit of sunshine here.
00:49Could see those temperatures getting up to 23 or 24.
00:52Through the evening, still one or two heavy showers over parts of north and east Yorkshire, maybe eastern Scotland too.
00:57But they should tend to fade.
00:59Increasing chance of some heavy showers though overnight over parts of South Wales, maybe into parts of the South Midlands and southern England too.
01:06And we'll keep thicker cloud and drizzly rain on and off in northwest Scotland.
01:10Otherwise, some cloud, some clear spells.
01:13Temperatures mostly holding up in the low teens.
01:16On to the details for Wednesday.
01:18And again, lots of places seeing lots of cloud.
01:22But maybe a bit brighter for parts of northern England and the Midlands compared to today.
01:26Better chance of seeing some lengthier spells of sunshine.
01:29But any sunshine may well spark some heavy showers tomorrow over east Anglia and southernmost counties of England.
01:35A potential for actually some pretty lively downpours.
01:38Slow-moving thunderstorms are possible.
01:41But they will be hit and miss across these areas of southern England up to east Anglia.
01:46But it could drop a lot of rain in a short space of time.
01:48Potentially causing a bit of disruption.
01:51Generally, a lot of cloud elsewhere.
01:52But some sunny spells, especially around coast.
01:54Probably not as many showers for Northern Ireland.
01:57Maybe a few more tomorrow over the southernmost parts of Scotland.
02:01The wind's fairly light.
02:02So if you see some sunshine, temperatures feeling quite pleasant.
02:05Into the low 20s.
02:06Maybe 24, 25 across the southeast.
02:08But obviously, if you get caught in a downpour, it will feel cooler than that.
02:13Not a great deal of change through Wednesday evening.
02:15Still a potential for some heavy showers over southern England up to east Anglia.
02:20A few more showers drifting into northern England and southern Scotland.
02:23But mostly the showers further west tending to fade.
02:25And we'll have some clearer spells.
02:26And that is signs of the weather calming down a little bit as we head towards the end of the week.
02:31For more on that, you'll want to be watching the Met Office deep dive.
02:35That will be available on our YouTube channel with Aidan on Tuesday afternoon.
