00:03A Chesterfield man who was captured on CCTV inhaling nitrous oxide from balloons after a crash that killed a pensioner has been jailed for 16 years and 6 months.
00:14Cain Byrne, age 20, of Redfuss Buller Road in Chesterfield, was sentenced yesterday after he killed 81-year-old Graham Slyne.
00:22The courtroom heard how on April 4th Byrne was driving a VW Golf and collided with Graham at the A57 near Toddick in South Yorkshire.
00:31Following the collision he fled the scene and left members of the public to help Graham.
00:35Byrne was already a disqualified driver, driving without a licence, without insurance and using a false clone number plate on the car.
00:43He was also seen on CCTV inhaling nitrous oxide from balloons even immediately after killing Graham.
00:49Byrne pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance at Sheffield Crown Court.
00:58In addition to his 16 and a half year prison sentence, he was further banned from driving for another 17 years.
01:07A Derbyshire photography enthusiast captured the moment a swirling vortex formed in the skies over Cromford.
01:13The stunning phenomenon was captured on Sunday when Derbyshire was battered by thunderstorms and heavy rain.
01:19Thomas Walker, a local photography enthusiast, was at Harbour Rocks in the Peak District, taking photos of lightning when he noticed the swirling clouds.
01:28He said,
01:28It was rotating a lot more before I started filming, as I was photographing the lightning before I noticed it.
01:34I did think it could develop into a tornado at first, but then it turned more into a scud cloud once it lost momentum.
