00:00Avoid these common 10 mistakes with Blue Sky and start seeing some growth and get some traction
00:10on this platform. And the number one mistake, and I've made this for a very long time,
00:16is completely ignore Blue Sky and not use it. Blue Sky, it's kind of similar to X,
00:24that Twitter platform. It gets around 196 million visitors a month, which is pretty good.
00:32Of course, X gets a lot more. It gets around 600 million visitors. But Blue Sky's got some
00:39potential to kind of grow more. And I kind of got the buzzword because I'm hearing all these people
00:44jump to Blue Sky. I'm like, what is this Blue Sky thing, right? But X has some things working
00:50against it. Some people don't like the direction Elon Musk is going. The AI tool said some really
00:58crazy crap. And some people miss Twitter. They don't like the new X. Meanwhile, Blue Sky has
01:06some really interesting things. Not even any ads on the platform. There's customized feeds and
01:12everything. And as well, what makes Blue Sky different is that users can operate on their
01:18own servers. And they can switch them anytime without changing their name or timeline. So
01:23it's more decentralized. It's more of a crypto user concept when it comes to social media.
01:32And I like that. I think that's really, really pretty cool. It kind of gives power back to
01:35the people rather than some guy that's going to abuse it. I'm not saying Elon's going to do
01:43that. But you get what I'm saying, okay? And plus, I like the word Blue Sky. It sounds so friendly,
01:49you know, right? All right. So number two is fill out your profile. So everybody's kind of gotten this
01:57thing about bots, right? People don't like bots and AI crap. So one way not to be a bot is put a
02:04picture of your face. People trust that, right? As well as fill out your profile. So you're a human
02:08being. So that's a mistake that, you know, some people make. Number three. Oh, I love this video,
02:14right? It's a cat. It's a robot. But yeah, don't post robotic stuff. And here's the thing. I really
02:23do think that you see this on all these platforms where people are cracking down on AI stuff. I see
02:30LinkedIn. Reddit's big on this. Same thing with Blue Sky and X as well. People are smart. They know,
02:38when it's AI generated stuff. They're not dumb. So don't do that. That's a big mistake. And I mean,
02:48there is a right way and a wrong way to use AI. But I've seen this with LinkedIn where people just
02:52have AI, right? The entire article. And you know, it's this boring, corporate, professional thing that
02:59nobody wants to read. And then it just dies. And people get made fun of and crap. Like, oh,
03:04it's crap. You know, whatever. So don't do that. The next step is self-promotion or overposting.
03:10And this is tricky. This is just like Reddit too. But here's my thoughts. You have to have a careful
03:16balance here. Because you really should promote something on these platforms. Because here's the
03:21reason why. These platforms are making a ton of money off of us. I mean, so if you're not benefiting,
03:26then why use the platform? If you're not benefiting, then don't be on a platform. Go do
03:33something else. But there's a balance here. Because you want to treat others how you want
03:37to be treated. Now, if you post something very helpful, and you're like, okay, if you're interested
03:41in more, I have this free guy on my profile. That could be more helpful, right? Rather than just
03:47posting random links, spamming them on random crap that's annoying people. That's spam. You know,
03:53people don't like that. So you want to do one thing, but not do the other. I hope that kind of
03:57makes sense. So yeah, you don't want to. Oh, also when you post, and I'm not saying I'm Mr. Perfect
04:05at this, but you know, maybe, you know, stick around a little bit and engage with other people
04:09and their posts as well. I know LinkedIn actually will look at this. If you're on LinkedIn and you
04:15will post stuff, and then if you like engage with other posts, it'll push your post out more. I'm not
04:21sure if Blue Sky does that, to be honest, but it's not a bad habit to get into. You don't have
04:27to go crazy, but you get what I'm saying. Next up is not having a strategy is a bad idea. I really
04:33do feel this way. You know, these platforms are making money off of this. So you should really
04:36benefit and have a strategy. Because here's the thing, and this is the truth, okay? People don't
04:42want to talk about this, but you know, some people are getting abused, addicted to these social
04:46media platforms, leading to, you know, mental health issues and depression and burnout. And
04:52one way to avoid this is to use these platforms and not get used by them. And one way to use
04:58them is to have a strategy and stick to it. And you know, whatever that is. And there's
05:04a couple of different strategies out there, but I like the idea of what I'll do is I'll make
05:08like a short TikTok video, and then I'll repurpose it on a lot of these platforms. So I redo the
05:16content. So I don't work that hard, and I get a lot of views and attention. And I think it's
05:20a great, great idea. And there's other ways you can do it as well, but you want to be kind
05:25of working smarter, not harder with these platforms, okay? And that's one way. And that strategy
05:33goes way more deeper as well. Next up is not understanding the blue sky culture. And that
05:39can be missing out. So what's the culture? It's decentralization, it's custom feeds, AT
05:45protocol. I'll be like, what the heck are you talking about? Okay. So decentralized means
05:52that different providers run different parts of the network, and a user can switch providers
05:59while keeping their data in security. And that's a cool thing. There's custom feed,
06:03which I'm going to walk you through how to do that. That's really, really cool. I like
06:07that a lot. And there's the AT protocol means that anyone can build on it and create like
06:12a new experience. So there's more adaptability to it. And I'll go over some of this a little
06:20bit later. But next up, I'm going to go with not having all the above mentality is a bad idea.
06:26And here's the thing. And what makes crypto awesome? I'm not sure if you're into crypto,
06:30but it's decentralization, right? No, one person doesn't control anything. All the little people
06:37run it, you know, like me, you. Maybe you're not little, I don't know. But we should think
06:43the same way. And what that means is you want to use as many platforms as possible for your
06:48mental health to allow because that way, if you're relying on one too much, and there's like
06:53a change or you get banned, it's really not good. You're more vulnerable. So I recommend
06:59that. But it's okay to also ban platforms if one's not working out for you too. And that's
07:06totally fine. But don't go crazy. Your mental health, you know, take a hit if you do too much.
07:12So custom feeds. Custom feeds are great. And how you would do that is you go to the feed platform
07:20right here. And then you could kind of go into search feeds and wherever you're interested in,
07:25like say, I don't know, cat videos or something like that. You could pin the feed, right? And that
07:30way you'll have all the feeds of certain cat content that you have. And, you know, whatever niche
07:38you're into, then you can engage the people in that niche. So you can kind of target market on people
07:44and engage with them, comment, like them, build relationships with them. And, you know, it's,
07:50it's really awesome. I mean, I think that's, I think I'm pretty excited about this too. And
07:55up in your home feed, I chose to like blogging and affiliate marketing. So I can kind of go into
08:01here. And that's where, and you can kind of choose, like if you click this, then that fee will be all
08:06about blogging. Okay. So yeah, I hope that makes sense. All right. Oh yeah. And you can also balance
08:17between different feeds as well. All right. Next up is, yeah, you can actually mute or block
08:25accounts in blue sky. And some people, the issue with social media I'm kind of thinking about is
08:31some people, they don't use their real name or faces so they could say like nasty crap and you
08:37know, whatever. And it's nothing wrong with just, you know, muting or blocking somebody. And the
08:43difference between them is muting prevents you from seeing their posts, you know, and the other user
08:50doesn't know about this. And blocking is any interaction, you know, comments, messages, everything.
08:55And the other person knows you blocked them. And how you would do that is you go to an account and
09:02there's like these three dots. And if you click on that, those drop down menu and you'll see mute
09:06account or block account. And you choose one of those. Next up is lists and feeds. And some people
09:13get this kind of mixed up, but a list is a collection of users, right? So like for say, say there's a whole
09:20bunch of people that you kind of like look up to or they're like, or maybe they're like, I don't
09:27know, you admire them, right? In your niche. I asked some of my niche, like, wow, a guy's doing
09:32really good. And you can get a collection of them and you can, you can, you know, choose their fees
09:36and you can see what they've been posting, like a list, you know? And so it's really pretty cool.
09:41And you could do a lot of stuff with that as well. You know, another great idea is you can get ideas
09:47from what other people are posting. And, you know, you're like, oh, it could be an inspiration,
09:52right? So that's a cool thing. And how you would do that is you go up with that three dots in the
09:56profile and right here it says add to list and you can add a list of people as well.
10:03Next up, and this is something I didn't do, but I probably should, is you can map a domain to your
10:07Blue Sky account. And what's cool about Blue Sky is you can change your username at any time. I mean,
10:12there's some platforms where you can't, like, like Reddit and Fiverr. And with Fiverr, you choose
10:18a username, you can't change it. But Blue Sky, you can, and you can map a domain. That means,
10:24like, like my domain is trust the link. I have a long story of why I have that domain. But,
10:31but basically, I just thought it was the coolest domain in the world. I used to have, like, a ton of
10:36domains. I'm like, oh, that's an awesome domain. So I chose it, you know? I used to try, you know,
10:41buying and sell them. But anyways, you could actually have your user be your, like, website
10:46domain. That way, when people search it, your Blue Sky will come up. It's like a branding thing.
10:51It's a cool extra little feature, too. And you can name it whatever you want, if that makes sense.
10:56But you could do that. So there's just some ideas on how to use Blue Sky and what some things to avoid
11:02and some things that you can do that you may not know of. I just learned these myself.
11:08And if you want more, and for example, like that whole, like, strategy I have about, like,
11:14short videos, I have a whole video that I created that's in-depth about this way and how to use these
11:21platforms to benefit yourself and to really make money, too, because that's always a good idea in
11:28these crazy times to make a little bit of extra cash. And I created a whole, like, video on how to do
11:32that. And it goes way more in-depth on short videos and how to make money off of it and everything like
11:38that. And if you're interested, I'll put the post of the video somewhere around here. And I'll put it down
11:43in the description, as well, if you want to check it out. Okay? So hopefully this was helpful or maybe
11:48entertaining or not. Anyways, I wish you the best. Have a great rest of your day. Bye.
