00:00That was Satish assaulting his wife Atulia, mocking her for recording the abuse, all of this over
00:09dowry. On July 19, 2025, just a day after her birthday, 29-year-old Atulia was found dead in
00:15her apartment in the UAE. Another Malayali woman silenced. According to her parents, Atulia had
00:20been enduring violence since 2014, the year she married Satish. They had given a bike and 43
00:25sovereigns of gold. But the harassment never stopped. In fact, her mother alleged Satish
00:29strangled her, kicked her stomach and hit her head with a plate just hours before her death.
00:34Atulia's father said Satish was an alcoholic and used to get violent frequently.
00:46Following the complaint, Kerala police registered a murder case against Satish under the Dowry
00:50Prohibition Act and the Bharati Nyaya Sanita. Speaking to UAE media, Satish denied any role
00:55in her death. He said he wanted to know what really happened. But Atulia's family believed
01:00years of abuse had led to her tragic end. Her case wasn't the only one. Just days earlier,
01:05another Kerala woman, Vipanchika Manian, was found dead in her shaja apartment in UAE along
01:10with her 18-month-old daughter Vaibhavi. Vipanchika's husband Nidish, his sister Nitu and their father
01:15were booked. The complaint claimed she was subjected to repeated dowry-related torture,
01:19both mental and physical. These are not isolated stories. Atulia and Vipanchika were daughters,
01:25mothers and wives and now their names in police records.
