00:00President Biden, they expanded the federal government with an unprecedented $11 trillion
00:07in spending, $6 trillion of which has been added to the national debt. It needs to end.
00:14We voted to end it in H.R. 1. We're ending it in this package here today, and we won't
00:20stop fighting for taxpayers. With that, Mr. Speaker, I yield two minutes to the gentleman
00:25from Pennsylvania, Mr. Muser. The gentleman from Pennsylvania is recognized for two minutes.
00:30Thank you, Mr. Speaker, and I thank Chairwoman very much for her leadership. Mr. Speaker,
00:38let's set something straight about our tax cuts, so-called, for billionaires. There are less than
00:42800 billionaires in the United States of America. We kept taxes low for over 160 million Americans,
00:50and the Democrats all voted to increase taxes on 160 million Americans. As a matter of fact,
00:56most of those, Mr. Speaker, billionaires, over 70 percent, are huge Democrat donors.
01:04During President Trump's first term, we had pro-growth policies, a booming economy,
01:08and revenues increased. Then the Biden administration accelerated the deficit by those in the
01:14administration, by the way, that referred to themselves as the Politburo, who were actually
01:19running the administration. Service on the debt alone increased during that time from $400 billion
01:25in 2020 to nearly $1 trillion last year. That's why we must rein in irresponsible agencies.
01:32They've been taken over by ideologues, Mr. Speaker, doing things that are simply not in the interest
01:37of the people of the United States. USAID has done some good things, but they've also done things that
01:42were an enormous waste, totally inappropriate, and in fact, they lost the trust of the American people.
01:50Agencies like this need to be reformed. The American people aren't going to put up with it anymore.
01:55Why is the government still funding public television when most people have hundreds of channels,
01:59as has been mentioned, to watch their news or whatever they want to watch? Just because it's
02:03been around for 50 years, that's not reason enough. Unless we want to pass along $37 trillion and
02:10climbing of debt to our children, we have to start spending money on the must-haves, not on the nice-to-haves.
02:16And these stations are not only nice-to-have to some, they are not nice-to-have to most.
02:23And they are certainly not must-haves. So, Mr. Speaker, let's pass this rescission package.
02:28Let's get on our way to having some accountability for American people
02:31and codify President Trump's spending reductions into law. I yield back.
02:35The gentleman yields back. The gentlelady from North Carolina Reserves. The gentleman from Massachusetts.
02:40It says..
