On Saturday, Los Angeles Fire Department Captain Adam VanGerpen gave updates on a crash in Hollywood, California that injured dozens of people earlier in the morning.

00:00Yeah, so it was a very chaotic scene when they arrived on scene because the initial dispatch was just for a traffic accident.

00:06So as you can imagine, you think you're coming into traffic, and now you see we had 30 patients.

00:11So there was a large number of people, in addition to the patients, were lined up.

00:15They're getting ready to go in and enjoy a night in a club.

00:18There was a taco cart out there. There was valet line.

00:21So it was a very chaotic scene because the vehicle drove through all those people, plowed over the taco cart and the valet stand.

00:29So there was a lot of bystanders who were stepping up and really help out people that they've never met before, rendering aid.

00:37We had a large LAPD presence as well, so we had about 25 police officers.

00:41Even the police officers were jumping in, rendering aid, helping firefighters to get the people into the appropriate locations,

00:48so that we could rapidly assess and transport the patients.
