Film, kızına karşılık alınacak başlık parasını biriktirmeye çalışan genç Cemal’in, mahalleden talipli İdris’in de devreye girmesiyle gelişen olayları ve zorlu bir kurtarma hikâyesini anlatır.  Giriş 1988 yapımı “Kara Zindan”, Ferit Turgut ve Kadir Turgut’un yapımcılığında, Türkiye’de 35 mm renkli formatta çekilmiştir. Senaryosunu İbrahim Tatlıses, Erdoğan Tünaş ve Aydemir Akbaş kaleme almış; görüntü yönetmenliğini Erdoğan Engin ve Mahmut Yumuşak, müziğini Cahit Berkay üstlenmiştir. Film, 1 Nisan 1988’de Türkiye genelinde sinemalarda gösterime girmiş olup süresi yaklaşık 75 dakikadır.  Konu Cemal, uzun zamandır sözlü olduğu Ayşe ile evlenebilmek için gereken başlık parasını biriktirmeye çalışmaktadır. Mahalleden cezaevinden yeni çıkan İdris de Ayşe’ye taliptir ve rekabet hızla tırmanır. Başlık parasının peşindeki çatışmalar, Cemal’in yanlış anlaşılmalar sonucu suç işlemeye zorlanmasıyla doruğa ulaşır. Ayşe’nin kaçırılması ve ona yönelik kurulan tuzaklar, Cemal’in sevdiklerini kurtarmak için sonuna kadar mücadele etmesine yol açar.
