00:16A lot of people talk about cryptocurrency mining but to really be profitable it's really difficult for a retail based investor with minimal equipment to be able to compete with the different huge mining pools out there and to get involved with mining pools.
00:34A lot of them especially cloud mining a lot of these companies aren't legitimate but in order for you to perhaps get some exposure to sort of our products that are correlated to actual cryptocurrency mining companies then you might need to look at some of these companies that I'll be touching on in this video today.

01:09So what are we talking about today? We are discussing the top three US cryptocurrency mining stocks.
01:16But before I jump into that I need to explain to you what cryptocurrency mining stocks are.
01:21Okay so these are pretty much shares in companies that are involved in the process of mining cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum or other digital assets.
01:33Okay so mining is effectively a computational process by which transactions get verified and added to a blockchain or public ledger.
01:43So in return for providing this service miners are then rewarded a certain number of newly minted cryptocurrency coins and companies that specialize in crypto mining often have large data centers that are filled with specialized hardware to perform these complex computations.
02:03Which is why I was alluding to the idea that being a retail miner is a little bit difficult and investing in crypto sort of mining stocks themselves you can effectively then get that exposure to the cryptocurrency market without directly owning or managing any cryptocurrencies yourself.
02:24And these stocks can be less volatile to invest in or you know when compared to investing in say tokens okay or cryptocurrency assets as these companies are often involved with sort of structures that do make sure that the business models are more diversified and these can include data center operations or mining pool services.
02:49Also blockchain technology applications also blockchain technology applications hardware software development related items to crypto mining.
02:57So crypto mining stocks themselves can also be publicly traded on different stock exchanges and their performance can effectively be influenced by different factors including cryptocurrency prices themselves.
03:10So the higher value of the higher value of the higher value of the higher value of the cryptocurrency being mined the more profitable the mining operations that will be
03:17technological efficiency are also affected to consider companies with more efficient hardware and software can mine more coins at a lower cost and also when we look at the energy cost.
03:32Mining does consume a lot of electricity, so companies with access to cheap, sustainable mining can have better profit margins, okay?
03:40We also need to talk about the regulatory environment.
03:44Legislation can impact where mining operations are located and also how they operate.
03:50And this can also affect the overall profitability of that enterprise.
03:54So popular crypto mining stocks often belong to companies that have a significant role in the cryptocurrency ecosystem, offering services that do go beyond just mining, like I mentioned earlier.
04:07And these companies are some of the top three that I will be discussing today.
04:11First on our list, without wasting any time, we have BitMining.
04:15It is traded, or the stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange.
04:19The token, or the stock ticker, rather, is BTCM, and it's described as a leading blockchain service provider, a mining pool solution.
04:31And BitMining is a world-leading public traded company that is focused on cryptocurrency mining with the technology-driven focus of self-mining, data center operations, mining pools, and also miner manufacturing.
04:47And BitMining Ltd. operates as a cryptocurrency company, effectively, and the company operates through different segments, mainly three.
04:56That's the mining pool, the data center, and the cryptocurrency mining itself.
05:00And it operates a cryptocurrency mining data center that's based in Ohio, with the power capacity of 82.5 megawatts in a mining pool business as well, including the domain name of the cryptocurrency wallet, btc.com, as well as purchases that it also owns, and deploys mining sort of machines that they also purchase.
05:27With their profits.
05:30So, the company was formerly known as 500.com Ltd.
05:35It did change its name to BitMining Ltd. in April of 2021.
05:40BitMining Ltd. itself was actually founded a long time ago in the USA as well.

05:55It is traded on the stock itself, is traded on the NASDAQ capital markets, and the ticker is Riot, R-I-O-T.
06:04So, it is dedicated to Bitcoin mining, and it aids in the blockchain.
06:11Bitcoin blockchain itself, through this rapidly growing, scaling mining activity that they are operating within the United States,
06:19their growth strategy is emphasizing that elevation of the Bitcoin mining rate, or hash rate rather,
06:25and also the capability of the infrastructure itself, Riot Platforms Inc., and some of its subsidiaries do function as a Bitcoin mining enterprise in North America as well,
06:38with operations spread across Bitcoin mining, data center hosting, and also engineering segments.

07:44concentrating on blockchain ecosystems and the creation of digital assets within the United States,
07:49formerly Marathon Patent Group Inc.
07:52The company did go a name change in February 2021, and has also been around for a long time,
08:00and is headquartered in Fort Lauderdale in Florida.
08:04So, the company does have control over a layer of the Bitcoin mining network technology stack from the mining pool,
08:10Mara pool, and to the ASIC hardware, okay?
08:14Through vertical sort of integration of their technologies,
08:19they are aiming to pretty much optimize efficiency and also make sure that they're sparing innovation
08:23and streamlining operational activities.
08:26Marathon Digital Inc. itself does hold also a substantial amount of Bitcoin
08:32as part of their corporate strategy or treasury strategy, rather,
08:36while also reinvesting in the commodity itself to make sure operations are improved.
08:43And the company does consistently rank as one of the largest Bitcoin holders
08:48among publicly traded U.S. companies.
08:51Okay, so Marathon is also in a place where it does seem to be committed
08:56to making their operations more environmentally friendly
08:59by cutting down on scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions
09:03and the ultimate goal of actually achieving complete carbon neutrality.
09:09And although their mining operations are emission-free,
09:12they are actively also working to source their needs
09:15from sustainable non-carbon-based energy sources,
09:19such as wind, solar, hydro, nuclear, and biofuels.
