00:00Please call the cops.
00:01I'm going to tell them there's an African-American man threatening my life.
00:04Welcome to WatchMojo.
00:06And today we're counting down our picks for the Karens that have left their notorious mark in history by being the rudest, most entitled, and most belligerent folks ever.
00:16I'm asking you if this is your property.
00:18Why are you asking?
00:19Because it's private property.
00:21Because it's private property, sir.
00:22So are you defacing private property?
00:25Number 10. Skirt Cop.
00:28Is this miniskirt too short to wear in public?
00:31That's what this woman thinks.
00:33This recent example of Karen audacity is already legendary.
00:37In 2024, at a restaurant in St. George, Utah, a teenage woman had the unexpected experience of having her skirt yanked by a stranger.
00:46Ida Lorenzo channeled her inner Helen Lovejoy and deemed the woman's skirt inappropriate for the children.
00:52Oh, won't somebody please think of the children?
00:56When the police became involved, Lorenzo tried to justify her actions, even claiming people applauded her for her actions.
01:03It's protecting the kid by covering their private parts.
01:06Correct, but that's not your job to do.
01:08That didn't stop the cops from charging her with battery or stop her from getting fired from the Utah Attorney General's office.
01:15She had her plea in abeyance accepted, where the sentence won't be given if she stays out of trouble for a year.
01:23Number 9. The McCloskeys.
01:25When those people came through the gate, when it was a mob, I didn't take the time to see their birth certificates or anything else.
01:33I was defending my house, my life, my wife.
01:36In 2020, after the murder of George Floyd, there were many protests across the U.S.
01:42In St. Louis, Missouri, one demonstration entered a private neighborhood to protest outside the mayor's home.
01:49The group was greeted by the McCloskeys, but not in a supportive way.
01:53Instead, the couple vastly escalated things by pointing firearms at the outraged citizens, becoming fodder for ridicule online.
02:01In other words, I stood out on the porch with my rifle and made them back up, and that's what I'd do again if that's a crime in Missouri.
02:08By God, I did it, and I'd do it again.
02:09The McCloskeys were charged and pleaded guilty to lesser offenses and received fines.
02:14They were pardoned in 2021, but in 2022, the Missouri Supreme Court suspended both their law licenses indefinitely.
02:23However, the punishment was stayed.
02:25Seemingly a glutton for punishment, in 2022, Mark ran to be the Republican candidate for senator
02:31of Missouri, but got only 3% of the primary votes.
02:35They're yelling, they're angry.
02:37They did not go up your steps.
02:38They didn't go to your house.
02:39They didn't touch you.
02:40They didn't try to enter your home.
02:42They didn't try to do anything to your kids, but you say you were assaulted.
02:46Number eight, coughing Karen.
02:48Excuse me.
02:49I'm coming through.
02:52The COVID-19 pandemic really motivated the Karens to come out and make their issues everyone else's problem.
02:59In 2021, a mother and her child shopped at Super Saver in Lincoln, Nebraska, while wearing masks.
03:06Janine Hoskovic popped up without a mask and harassed the pair with condescension, conspiracies, and coughing.
03:13As the family backed away, Hoskovic called them cute and sheep for wearing masks.
03:19With a smirk, she then claimed she was coughing from allergies.
03:22I don't know if you're sick or not.
03:24It's my allergy.
03:25When the video spread online, Hoskovic's employer, the German tech company SAP, wasn't happy.
03:32After a brief investigation, they fired her from parole.
03:35The team of internet sleuths quickly identified the woman seen in this video, and in a matter of days, she's now lost her job.
03:42Number seven, Soho Karen.
03:44In 2020, at the Arlo Hotel, Soho, in New York City, Mia Ponsetto experienced what many of us have horrifyingly endured.
03:54Her cell phone was missing.
03:56Instead of retracing her steps, she did some racial profiling by accusing the teenage son of jazz musician Keon Harold of stealing it.
04:04No, I'm not letting him walk away with my phone.
04:06This is the video that initially went viral.
04:08The hotel apologized, but acknowledges they could have done more.
04:12This resulted in Ponsetto tackling the black teenager.
04:16Amazingly, the missing phone was found by an Uber driver whose services she'd used.
04:21Ponsetto then appeared in an interview with Gayle King, claiming that since she has Puerto Rican heritage, she couldn't be racist.
04:28It didn't seem as if my accusations really bothered the son and the father because they were just enjoying a nice meal right after this whole encounter.
04:37Ponsetto eventually pleaded guilty to a hate crime.
04:40She was handed two years of probation and had to continue counseling for a previous conviction after a DUI.
04:47Any regrets, Maya?
04:50Um, I'm good, thank you.
04:52Number 6.
04:53Key Fob Kelly
04:54Locked in here.
04:55Into my building.
04:57Okay, and it's my building as well, so I need to get out of my way.
04:59In 2018, after working late, all Diari and Tulles wanted to do was go home to his apartment in St. Louis, Missouri.
05:07Instead, he had to contend with the self-appointed gatekeeper, Hillary Moeller, and her tiny dog.
05:13She demanded to see his key fob, inspiring her nickname, and wanted to know where he lived.
05:18Okay, what unit?
05:20I don't need to say that information.
05:22So excuse me, ma'am.
05:23I'm uncomfortable.
05:24Excuse me.
05:24Okay, you can be uncomfortable.
05:26That's your discretion.
05:26Tulles eventually got past her.
05:28However, Mueller wasn't done.
05:30She followed him to his door and later called the cops.
05:33As a record, I just want to say hi.
05:35Thanks, ma'am.
05:36What is your name?
05:37Ma'am, you just, no.
05:38Have a good night, ma'am.
05:39That, don't ever do that again.
05:41Mueller defended her actions by claiming she followed the building's rules for questioning unknown people trying to get in.
05:47Others disagree and believe Tulles being black had something to do with her escapades.
05:52Mueller's employer, Tribeca STL, condemned her racial profiling and fired her.
05:58Tulles says he wishes her no ill will.
06:01As far as we know right now, both still live in the building.
06:04Number five, Barbecue Becky.
06:07It's illegal to have a charcoal grill in the park here.
06:10No, it's not actually.
06:11I just looked at the map.
06:12It says this is a designated barbecue area.
06:14No, not for a charcoal grill.
06:16No charcoal grills are allowed.
06:18Do you want to see it?
06:192018 was a wild time for Karens getting mainstream publicity, and one of the most famous was Jennifer Schulte.
06:25Upon seeing a family of black people enjoying a barbecue next to Lake Merritt in Oakland, California,
06:31she decided to make her grievance the police's issue by claiming they were in a non-designated area and stating she was scared.
06:38I'm wearing a dark navy blue sweatshirt and jeans, and I have brown hair about shoulder-length, and I have people harassing me.
06:49When the cops arrived, Schulte continued her shenanigans by crying after being confronted,
06:54making the officer likely realize he wasn't paid nearly enough.
06:57Schulte was mocked online and birthed many, many memes, and was probably even more furious when the community rallied and held several barbecuing events in the area to protest her dreadful behavior.
07:174. Permit Patty
07:20Another legend of the 2018 era of Karens is Allison Attell.
07:27Working from home in San Francisco, California, she heard and saw a sight that left her reeling.
07:33A child selling water to raise money to go to Disneyland.
07:37Rather than appreciate the plucky girl's business acumen, Attell called the cops to claim she was illegally selling water without a permit.
07:44She calling the police on an 8-year-old little girl, you can hide all you want, the whole world gonna see you, boo.
07:50Many believe that the girl being black probably influenced her decision.
07:54Attell then claimed she didn't actually ring the police, yet records showed that was a lie.
07:59Due to the backlash, Attell resigned as CEO of Treatwell Health.
08:03It is Miss Attell's belief that Treatwell, its employees, and patients should not have to suffer because of a situation that occurred in an escalated moment.
08:12Because most people are decent, folks bought Disneyland tickets for the girl and her family after that horrible experience.
08:203. SoCal Karen
08:22This is video of a woman going on a racist rant against Asian Americans, and apparently it's not the only incident like it.
08:30Lena Hernandez has the distinction of going viral twice in 2020, but not in a positive way.
08:37She was recorded going on racist rants against people with Asian heritage around Torrance, California.
08:42Hernandez escaped punishment for this, but eventually her luck ran out.
08:47In 2019, Hernandez argued with a mall employee.
08:50When Casey Lynn Salmonoa intervened, she was attacked by the angry Karen.
08:54She says it happened in a restroom where there are no security cameras, but she took pictures on her phone as Hernandez walked away from the alleged attack.
09:03Hernandez's earlier viral videos helped her, and she was arrested.
09:08She pleaded no contest to battery and received 47 days in jail, three years of probation, and anger management classes.
09:15What she did was violent. It was a violent attack to me, so it should have been the maximum amount of six months.
09:22In 2021, she went back to court due to being unable to afford the classes.
09:27Instead, Hernandez got one year of probation and 80 hours of community service.
09:332. San Fran Karen
09:35In 2020, Lisa Alexander got too far into someone else's business, as captured in a video by James Juanillo in San Francisco, California.
09:48As Juanillo stenciled Black Lives Matter on his property, Alexander and her friend Robert Larkins questioned whether he was allowed to do that.
09:57I'm asking you if this is your property.
09:59Why are you asking?
10:00Because it's private property.
10:01Because it's private property, sir.
10:03So, are you defacing private property?
10:04Stating falsely that they knew the property owner. They later called the cops on Juanillo.
10:10Due to this, Alexander's company, LaFace Skin Care, lost business opportunities, and Larkins was fired by employer Raymond James.
10:18In a statement, Birchbox condemned her actions and cut ties with her company.
10:23In 2024, she appeared on Dr. Phil Primetime to defend her actions and state she was waiting for the truth to come out.
10:32This experience completely took my whole life and just threw it on the floor.

10:531. Central Park Karen
10:58Please call the cops.
10:59I'm going to tell them there's an African-American man threatening my life.
11:02Few Karen cases have left as lasting an impression.
11:06It has it all.
11:07Racism, false police reports, fake crying, and sweet justice.
11:11In 2020, Christian Cooper met Amy Cooper, who is no relation, while birdwatching in New York City's Central Park.
11:19He was concerned that her dog was unleashed in a leashed section.
11:24Getting nowhere with her, Christian tried to lure the dog towards him, causing Amy to explode.
11:29She called the cops and told them an African-American man was threatening her, all while tugging on the poor pup's collar.
11:36There is an African-American man.
11:38I am in second part.
11:39He is recording me and threatening myself and my dog.
11:42Thankfully, Christian recorded this.
11:44Amy was charged for her false report, but it was dropped after completing a course.
11:49She was fired by Franklin Templeton, which she appealed and lost.
11:53She understood the power she wielded at that moment to call police as a white woman on a black man, as a scary black man.
12:00I'm going to call the police and say an African-American man is.
12:03She understood that part of it.
12:04She had the wherewithal to understand that.
12:06What other legendary Karens did we miss?
12:08Commissioner Karen Turner?
12:10Cornerstone Caroline?
12:12Or someone else?
12:13Let us know below.
12:14I will be talking to the chief of police.
12:16Please.
12:17And I will be speaking to the mayor.
