A Certain Rich Man

00:00There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously

00:27every day.

00:45And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

00:54and desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table.

00:59Moreover, the dogs came and licked his sores.

01:10And it came to pass that the beggar died and was carried by the angels into Abraham's

01:15bosom.

01:16The rich man also died and was buried.

01:38And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off and Lazarus in

01:44his bosom.

01:45And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip

02:11the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am tormented in this flame.

02:24But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedest thy good things, and

02:29likewise Lazarus evil things, but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

02:59And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that they which would

03:27pass from hence to you cannot, neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

03:35Then he said, I pray thee therefore, Father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house.

03:42For I have five brethren, that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place

03:48of torment.

03:50And Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets, let them hear them.

03:57And he said, Nay, Father Abraham, but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

04:05And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded,

04:10though one rose from the dead.

04:26I have just heard of those who entered the

04:38of the dead.

04:38And he said, No.

04:40And they have heard of him, which was his hand in hisole.

04:44I said John will come to him.

04:45I said John would be WYSS school, Tony Walens said, you are my children.

04:49I said John would follow and do him.
