At least 30 injured as vehicle drives into crowd outside Los Angeles music venue  Dozens of people were injured when a vehicle drove into a crowd on Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles in the early hours of Saturday, July 19, the city's fire department said.  Captain Adam VanGerpen of the Los Angeles City Fire Department told Reuters that 30 patients, at least 7 with critical injuries, had been taken to local hospitals and trauma centers. One of the injured was found with a gunshot wound.  Authorities gave no immediate details on the cause of the incident or the identity of the driver. 00:00Let me take a look and see what I can see.

00:30Yeah, so this morning about 2 a.m., our firefighters were dispatched out to a traffic accident

00:40in East Hollywood.

00:42On arrival, they found there's a large number of people who were standing outside of a club.

00:46There's a taco stand out there, there's a valet line out there, and apparently a vehicle

00:51had drove through a crowd of people, took out a taco stand, took out the valet podium,

00:57and we had a large number of people on scene.

01:00We categorized the patients based on their injuries.

01:03So we had a total of 30 patients, 23 of those patients ultimately had to be transported.

01:09Out of those 30, there was about seven were what we call critical or immediate.

01:14Six of those were delayed, and another 10 were transported with minor injuries.

01:20We had an additional seven people that refused transportation.

01:24So the initial scene was very chaotic.

01:27There was bystanders who were helping each other out because there was such a large number

01:32of injuries, such a large number of patients.

01:35We do know that the driver did sustain some trauma injuries.

01:39Ultimately, there was also a gunshot victim here, unknown which one of the patients had

01:46that suffered a gunshot wound.

01:47But our firefighter paramedics did treat a gunshot.

01:51So yeah, right now, the circumstances that we know, we know that a vehicle did drive through

01:56the crowd, we don't know the cause of that.

01:58But how we talk about the state's story, that all of the national owners are scared of the

02:14protesters.

02:15They have to close up operators.

02:16What the protesters are over there protesting?

02:20Yeah.
