00:00himself yeah they don't want to race but now this is it it's locked in 30 second board from
00:07five racing is up got the pointers on deegan and shimota who is second of the first moto
00:12we're waiting for one of the kawasaki riders or all of them to get a good start march banks
00:17another great run for a third of the first moto what can he do reps are up
00:22gates down someone got stuck in the gate
00:26is it a kawasaki it's a kawasaki there you go
00:33seth hamaker well he's been the best starter of that group has the monster pro circuit kawasaki
00:39in the lead it's michael harrop and shimota second and third yeah we heard joe that first moto i
00:44said we just got to run it in harder without crashing well joe got a good start he definitely
00:48ran it in hey deegan thought got to that first corner quicker but joe ran it in kawasaki was
00:54listening mr wagon here how we figure it starts out one of them got it and uh true adams is seventh
01:00so you'll see another kawasaki toward the front but right now it's seth hamaker tape it all taped up
01:06knee taped up shoulder bunch of crashes last week leads the way for shimota and harrop running well
01:12again yeah another rider who's been getting michael harrop yeah man all year long continue to get
01:19better and last weekend he was really fighting for up there at one point we thought maybe he had a
01:23chance to get in the lead
01:24siderdy francisco on the gas gas battling it out harrop and luxe turner on the aeo ktm
01:31is behind them no it's actually one of the kawasaki's adams who made a move on turner
01:36adams on the run in green yeah let's see what drew can do with a good start as he goes around the
01:42outside wow rider d got stuck in that rut literally hey we've been waiting to see what
01:51your adams can do this was the hot shot amateur dominated the monster energy national at loretta
01:57lynn's last summer was going to make his pro debut here in pro motocross they actually bumped him up
02:02the supercross he got hurt and again the starts have definitely held him back will what do you think
02:08it here at the hammock or out front i'm wondering if what we talked about earlier and the stuff that
02:13pro circuit kawasaki have been working on there with the bike has translated into these good starts
02:18for drew adams and for seth hammock as he gets passed there by joe shimoda he does but go ahead
02:24yeah james i kind of wanted you to weigh in on this so specifically talking to mitch payton team
02:29owner at pro circuit kawasaki he said it was clutch stuff they've been working on garrett marchbank
02:33said he had gone through about eight different clutches and they were trying to figure out a better feel
02:37for the guys out the gate this is obviously the newer version of the bike they said everywhere
02:41else on the track they've been getting great results but those starts were holding them back
02:45so if you can just kind of explain what that means to a rider to have the right feel for the clutch out
02:49of the gate yeah i mean that and working on the clutches for them to initially get that jump because
02:54no matter how fast your motorcycle is if you don't get the first three or four feet out of the gate
02:59it's not going to matter so i think those guys understand that they've got to get the jump
03:03and to me this second moto i don't think has anything to do with the clutch because they
03:08obviously struggled that first moto i think the gate flinch a lot of guys are going and looks like
03:12so far uh seth handmaker was the one guy who didn't get caught off guard but i like what mitch is doing
03:18they know they have the power they got to be able to get it get that jump otherwise they get closed off
03:23and it's just a waste of time at that point they're fighting so shimoda able to wrestle the lead
03:28away and deegan is back in six so shimoda looking good right now jt he sure is we can i love the way
03:34he attacked you heard him on the podium he said i need to just attack more you see him not waste time
03:40with seth handmaker he can't be patient here because we see him look back that is so critical
03:44he knows where seth handmaker is who where he doesn't know is hayden deegan and that's all he's
03:49worried about is putting in as fast as laps as possible right now so when hayden deegan does get
03:54clear he's simply too far back to put in any ton of charge at joe shimoda well jt there you can see
03:59deegan in that bottom box he was sixth he went back to 76 again but uh shimoda looking back that's
04:05right into the wheelhouse of what you've been talking about james when a guy wins a lot
04:09you're thinking about him no matter what yeah and 100 you you want to know where he where he's at
04:14because joe knows the likelihood like you look if he looks back and he sees hayden where he is
04:19and joe's going to try to continue to push that pace but he knows hayden's been a little bit quicker
04:24than him he probably will catch him but if he'd have looked back and he didn't see hayden then i think
04:28joe would have really took the chance to maybe maybe take some chances to get a big enough gap and
04:34maybe hopefully hayden by the time he got the second he was gone at this point you're not far
04:39enough to the ahead to believe hayden's not going to be able to catch you so joe just wants to know
04:43where hayden deegan is as we all do and there he is he is there with drew adams the rookie is riding
04:50well who's in fifth on the 98 there's deegan ahead of them de francisco could be a deegan
04:56de francisco rematch that came together in midair in moto one and then harrop third hammock or second
05:05yeah i believe these opening laps joe's got to do whatever it takes to me if i'm joe shimodo
05:12knowing how this track has been playing out how hard it is to make up that time and and if you
05:16don't have that rider chase it's really hard to make up that time i'm going wide open i'm i got
05:20to try to get away from hayden deegan because we know hayden's in shape and hayden don't want to
05:25lose to anybody and you probably understand he he probably understands that three-peat as well i'm
05:29sure he got the the uh the notifications that he can do something special see if he can get it done
05:35will well the pit board of joe shimodo there ben griffinson mechanic is holding out says sprint
05:42deegs so to your point there james he is on his radar no matter how many positions back
05:48that's pretty simple sometimes but shimodo better in the second motos like he is right now his average
05:55finish this year moto one four point six moto two two point nine and shimodo as always said
06:00later in the day the rough for the track the better he does as deegan tries to find a line
06:05around drew adams no dice yeah but unlike some of these other tracks this track is rough but it's
06:11not going to be that rough to where joe can have a huge advantage over everybody else where it almost
06:17evened out you know some tracks you go to if it's a little bit smoother and hayden's got that speed
06:21having a rough track that second moto would tame that well this this track isn't like that
06:26and hayden has this speed he's going to continue to have this speed by the way their flow is and
06:31it's just going to be important for joe to hopefully get away and make john hayden and decide whether he
06:36keeps that points league going or he takes a chance to go after you because we know hayden deegan
06:39loves to win some races he sees joe he's going to try to go after him but if he doesn't then i think
06:44he'll take that second place yeah you go to southwick which might be the roughest track that's where
06:49shimodo has really shined in those second motos through the years but they're all close right now
06:54hayden went off the track oh shot off to the left side just jumped back on
06:59didn't lose a ton of time maybe about five bike lengths or so compared to where he was
07:06yeah that's things like that those are where i believe hayden will just focus in on a championship
07:13so if i'm joe shimodo if hayden doesn't see me then those type of mistakes he'll just be worried
07:18about maximizing the points and at the none at the least he'll come out top with you as far as in the
07:23points but you're going to see him come out of this corner i don't know if he spins out yeah well he
07:27tries to get on the gas so he can try to triple the thing and he just leans back that bike hooks up
07:31and then he just takes a little break on the side of the track no harm no foul could have been a lot
07:36worse there used to be hay bales there and you would have hit one of those and it went down
07:39and a little break takes a handoff stands up uh i think deegan knows how to play that they want to see
07:46when you're off the side of the track an indication that you're trying to use caution
07:49back now trying to challenge adams it's good for drew adams he's uh best moto he had a fifth
08:02in colorado earlier this year so this will be a tie for his career best as it sits right now
08:07yeah another rider looking for confidence young rider just like rider d right in front of him so
08:13good to see him in every lap no matter what you got to expect hayden's probably going to get around
08:19about into this moto but just drew being up front seeing that pace and then of course being a whole
08:24hate digging off at any point will give him confidence to continue to build forth for the next
08:29couple weeks rider at a chattanooga tennessee as for deegan remember he did have that leg injury
08:40last week definitely held it back still managed to get the overall win we asked him yesterday what
08:43the status of that is this time yeah that first week after red but i didn't do anything it was just
08:50training wise did a lot of therapy on it ice baths all the whole run you know so um this this upcoming
08:56week i was able to get on the bike i did uh a couple 20s you know just get it moving and uh did
09:01some starts so uh a little more prep and a little more getting the leg moving so hopefully it pays off
09:09yeah we'll see how that's affecting him here as he attacks adams but adams riding well he has caught
09:14de francisco and then harap right in front of him a four rider battle yeah and march banks is in the back
09:21he's on the move also yeah garrett passing more people yeah started 16th again oh deegan takes the
09:28line away from adam oh that was beautiful that was beautiful that's a veteran move right there
09:33set that corner up they actually set that up during the warp section
09:38oh that was almost over the bars yeah and there's a lot of ruts in this track starting to try that as
09:45you can start to see and now you can see garrett coming up as well we know he knows how to pass people
09:51so the overall is on the line here i mean deegan needs to beat shimota to get the overall win and
09:57that's a long way up the road right now it's 12 seconds at the moment shimota has the overall lead
10:02looking at 2-1 scorers yeah joe if he continues this pace it's going to be tough for hayden to
10:08catch him we know how hard it is to make up a lot of time um for him but by the time hayden gets around
10:14these guys if it takes a couple more laps joe can get about a 15 second lead then i think hayden's
10:19going to have to just take what he has today will you just never count him out for it there
10:25james i was talking to his dad ryan deegan before the racing got started today and i said what do you
10:31think is his biggest asset let's take out you know racing technique and he said his grit and i said
10:36what's the biggest thing that you have taught him and he said to never give up to never give up just
10:42always know the sacrifices that we have made to get to this point he said that something that he
10:48still didn't have ever since he was a kid he's like i'm gonna have to remind him of it right now
10:52but that's how he goes through life remember how much work it took to get here and do not give up
11:00so oh once we got a battle here will brewing with march banks looking to get adams
11:04can he hold them off yeah it almost looked like drew was gonna let him by but garrett wasn't close
11:13enough but garrett can get on if he get close to his teammate scrub this he'd be on the inside
11:19nice pass by him you can see that one coming and he's closing in on hayden got a really good pace
11:26see hayden deegan right in front of him jt yeah well i'll stop you if you've heard this before but
11:30march banks did not get the start he wanted but he has systematically moved forward listen he was
11:35behind kitchen three laps ago and has absolutely left kitchen behind i would not be shocked here at
11:41all if he goes past the next couple laps guys well honestly jt it's a battle that we've been waiting
11:46for i mean march bank's been riding well all summer he's third in the championship even had a good run
11:51with a lot of podiums toward the end of supercross but we've not actually seen him battle deegan because
11:56he's never up front it's a rare moment to see the 36 and the one in the same piece of real estate let's
12:03see how it goes yeah that is a rare moment and garrett's been riding really good all day he was
12:10the fastest qualifier so clearly he has has the speed you would think if they're struggling with
12:16starts it is his horsepower hill that you know the bike's slow and like i said it it's not as where
12:21the power is and end up working on the clutches but i'm with jt here payton doesn't really wake up
12:27oh gee money's gonna get around him yeah he is right there i talked to march banks this morning and
12:33they said he always hated this track but now he lives out in california he's been a club of x rider in
12:37south carolina for years being on the west coast seems to be a lot more comfortable on this dirt today
12:44and he is giving deegan all he can handle garrett should have the inside you're going to push him
12:50out oh hayden closes the door run over a little suggestive marker right there but no harm no file but
12:55still garrett's made a lot of time up on on hayden i don't know if hayden realized that he was coming
13:01that quickly and defrancisco right ahead of them as they drop into the valley
13:06okay so this is that thing march banks catches them doesn't make the pass
13:15does deegan respond we've seen it a few times today yeah but hayden's in a different spot i mean
13:20normally when that happens he's out front okay you're fighting for a lead hayden most likely he's not
13:25going to kiss joe the only reason we even give him a chance because of what hayden does and what
13:30he's done in his career about coming to the pack but yeah and the same thing with garrett he hasn't
13:35had much experience rotten with hayden so i don't think you'd be you know worried about the past
13:39every time i get to him i can't get around him i think garrett feels like he can he's caught him
13:43he's been rotten good all day and he wants to get back on the podium get him another interview
13:49right already utah i still don't know if he has a deal for next year yet it was a one-year deal
13:54but monster pro circuit kawasaki the way he's going gotta bring him back but i don't know if
13:59anything's been signed yet deegan meanwhile has ramped it up and he is caught now
14:05deep francisco yeah the best thing for him is he get caught up behind um uh deegan gets caught up
14:12behind him and brother yeah rider d but we'll see will yeah i was just thinking about the difference
14:18in garrett marchbank this year and he told me a few rounds back really attributes that a lot
14:23to working with brock tickle brock tickle a long time test rider over at monster energy kawasaki and the
14:29two of them sort of came together when garrett was sort of asking for help and just kind of leaning on
14:34him and brock said look i'm here at the track anyway day after day let's work together and see
14:38how this goes and that two gelled um garrett said that you know just everything from him makes sense
14:44in his head all the pieces sort of stuck together and he said it's made all the difference so far this
14:49game no doubt he's been riding well but deegan picking up the game getting away from march banks
14:55will and now going after deep francisco up horsepower hill deep francisco fourth that tie his career best
15:01moto which took place out this track let's see what he does he's going to try to squirt his corner
15:06up and get on the inside but it looks like rider d he knows that routine
15:15like i said a little rematch of moto one where they came together battling for the lead then harrop
15:20another good run and actually if the race ends like this hamaker's on the overall podium behind
15:25shimode and deegan long way to go deegan long way to go around the outside and march banks is right
15:31back in this i love that had their feet off trying to gas it you know he's the one to try to stay in
15:36front of hayden because you know for him hayden's always going to come in a bump rodder d i'm telling
15:42hayden stay away from me stay away from me not again march banks is back in this james yeah he's getting
15:48held up hayden that is getting held up behind rodder d but like what uh garrett man he's got to make
15:55that pass give him a lot of confidence and it might be coming up halfway through this moto
16:01reminder that monster energy is available at fred meyer march banks can he make a move on deegan
16:10oh deegan was looking for an inside
16:12he's got de francisco rodder d why why you go outside like that i mean you should have closed
16:20that that door down maybe there was a bigger rut there but almost felt like hayden maybe scared
16:25him thought hayden was going to be up the far of the inside now if i'm garrett march banks i got
16:29to get rodder d because he's focused in on deegan and he does he almost ran in the back of hayden
16:34whoo march banks hustling through to try to make this pass seal the deal and he does if anybody
16:40knows how to pass it is garrett does a lot of that still really impressive and and and even then
16:46ahead of him harrop running third place this moto another great round by him
16:54hey fly racing uh unveiled their 2026 gear this weekend they'll have a ride day here tomorrow oh deegan
17:00almost throws it down give me an update on their riders it is de francisco now sixth
17:05schwartz after that great first moto is 11th parker ross is in 17th deegan under fire from march bank
17:12still they have cleared de francisco and adams yeah it looked like hayden was going to throw it down
17:18but no he wanted to go in the outside so it was really important for him to get back to that outside
17:23so he slung back across slung across the track but garrett's got to make this pass otherwise he'll be
17:31knocked off the podium if he doesn't get it so really important pass for him to continue
17:36yeah it's going to be between the uh two kawasaki teammates will it be hamacre or march banks
17:42on the podium they are currently tied overall but hamacre has the tiebreaker at the moment
17:49yeah they're starting to close in on third place right in front of them so garrett's got
17:54someone to do what they can get around hayden or to number 107 harrop right there in front of deegan
18:04march bank just needs a pass it could be on deegan it could be on harrop he just needs one more
18:08position to push hamacre off the podium heck of a ride for hamacre though the pennsylvania native
18:16i mean this dude is beat up knocked the wind out of himself he told me so bad on that uphill jump last week
18:22that he started to pass out he could not get his breath so the medics thought he had maybe hit
18:27his head and he's like no that's how bad i knocked the wind out of myself so they let him race moto too
18:32he was riding pretty well then he twisted his knee so he's got that all taped up with doc g
18:36shoulders already been taped and here he is running second to the moto and third overall
18:42harrop now under pressure yeah all my moto fans or anybody in general we've all had the wind knocked out of
18:48it and sometimes they're a lot worse i remember a couple times that i've just given up on life
18:52i'm like well this is it this this is not coming back just take me take me and then it finally comes
18:58back so i i i feel for you uh seth don't know that feeling deegan attacking harrop on that trial
19:05the danish rider you see the list oh harrop throws it away that's actually going to put march banks
19:12where he needs to be yeah bummer easy mistakes this track's really starting to dry out and he
19:17was riding really good but maybe a little bit of pressure from hayden deegan maybe pushing that front
19:21tire cost a mistake for michael so march banks third overall now that'd be the first career
19:29pro moto cross podium for him but i don't think he's thinking about that i think he wants to pass deegan
19:35yeah garrett's got his switches lines i was watching him earlier in practice and he's running
19:41the same lines as he was in practice and they they work but to me that outside going up horsepower hill
19:46is a little bit slower and a couple other places he's been running outside he's got to switch that up
19:52i believe if he does he'll be able to close the gap even more on hayden deegan even more than he has so
19:57i found you as a rider when things are working for your fastest qualifier you're closing in on guys
20:02it's hard to switch those lines but you can tell he's losing those he's losing a lot and i need
20:08to correct myself march banks has a podium in the 450 class back in his days with the club mx team
20:13this will be his first 250 pro motocross podium if he hangs on to it but still it'd be such a boost
20:19if he could get deegan he was close
20:25de francisco still digging back there at fifth and it's adams harrop after the crash forkner riding well
20:30again he's eight boland and kitchen it's just back at 10 not where he wants to be at the home race
20:38yeah kitchen must have been closed on weekends at least here yeah at least here and no home cooking
20:46at washugal for the chef yeah if you're not feeling the flow it's it's a tough race track
20:53it's it's a unique one we talk about southwick and some of these other ones you got to know how to
20:57ride it we're here at washugal you got to know how to ride it or either be comfortable in this flow
21:02because you see the shadows one guy that's comfortable this guy up front joe shimoto with
21:06a 13 second lead joe time oh joe's looking for two out of the last three overalls and you go back to last
21:16week he could have should have would have he might have been the best rider there that week but deegan was
21:21able to outfox him in the first moto then the brakes went out rear brake in the second moto but he
21:27might have won that yeah i talked to a couple of the honda guys and they felt like they let they let joe
21:33down yeah i feel like he would have had that moto win and the way you look in this second moto he
21:38probably would have so he looks good jt he sure does and i've had a chance to spend a lot of time with
21:43honda hrc over the last couple of days and we asked them about joe shimoto because sometimes he gets
21:48into this zone he's pulling away from the field putting in a 13 second gap right now and he will
21:54tell you that he kind of rides all the time the same all the time i'm like no no there's a different
21:58mode for joe and they said you're absolutely right we even have a name for it when he gets a little
22:02spicy just like this it's wasabi joe this is wasabi joe wasabi yeah whatever it is joe is definitely on
22:10fire right now yeah and i would almost say he looks the same to me but clearly there's always there's
22:18always different levels to it and i think joe's riding style makes it look like he's riding the
22:22same but the guy's got it figured out and talking to some of the guys at honda big changes because
22:29coming into this this motocross season you know we always felt like joe can win races but i've been
22:34impressed with his speed and how consistent he has been um all year long and if it wasn't for a few
22:40starts i mean the guy's been right there and clearly when he does get the start he can run like this and
22:45it's been a lot better for these guys so going into the third year looking really good hopefully
22:48he can just continue building and a lot of that was made some bike changes and joe's more comfortable
22:54what he's looking for and it's showing bottom box for showing the battle for eighth and that is critical
23:00because it's austin forkner on the triumph he would be fifth overall if this happened his last fit of top
23:06five overall was buds creek 2023 listen to the results for fork over the last couple weeks 22nd 16th 20th
23:15eighth fifth something is happening something is coming back together suddenly for fortner
23:23yeah that's barely in the points a couple weeks ago yeah and and again austin's goal is it's just to
23:30make these races you know get a full season clearly to triumph this whole team is continuing to get better
23:37well man we talk about heroes man austin i don't know him that well but just been impressed for
23:45everything he continues to fight back as he goes past his teammate yeah haram who crashed not back to
23:51the same speed he had earlier so that's going to help forkner even more solidify that top five overall and oh no
23:58haram's not done he realized who it was it was his teammate yeah you always say yeah you got to get on
24:03it you know one guy we're missing on the teammates jordan smith oh yeah jordan had a great one in moto
24:10one 16th right now in moto two hey super motocross playoffs offer some of the most unique fan opportunities
24:18in sports get the inside track to the experience of a lifetime go to smx experiences.com and become part of
24:26the action yeah that's right hang out with us on friday nights at smx that's for harap trying to
24:32recover from the crash jt well he's circulating here after the crash and i was kind of hoping for a
24:38levi kitchen harap battle today we got a little bit of that in moto one because i wanted them to tell them
24:44that levi kitchen lives just over the hill because i'm just imagining harap going to all these tracks
24:48week after week a brand new track one of these weekends you can say is there anybody on any of these tracks
24:53that doesn't live on the property i had to deal with jeremy martin now i have to be able to leave
24:57my kitchen who's next yeah jeremy you ruined it for everybody because now you've got a home jeremy did
25:03it jeremy did if you live here and you're supposed to get a w but oh tough conditions we're going to be
25:10asking who is the fmic who's the fastest man in crawfordsville that's the next town we're going to i
25:16don't know if they have anyone entered into the race super local to the track in indiana next time
25:21out harap probably happy to hear that news yeah you're going to see these guys starting to buy
25:26trailer homes they can move it mark it right there i live everywhere every race i live here uh this is
25:33harap he's been so good though and it's reflected in the points he's actually fifth in the standings
25:39in what is just a summer in the united states he'll go back to mxgp was supposed to race the 450 for
25:45triumph in europe this year but the bike wasn't ready so they said well honor your deal you could
25:51be a test rider and then someone come up with the idea of why don't you just go to america you can
25:55ride a 250 there because in europe they have a rule in mxgp once you turn 23 you're not allowed to
26:01race a 250 anymore so that's why he was a man without a spot and boys it worked out well and i got to
26:07imagine the data they're getting with having four really strong riders they must be learning a ton this
26:12summer yeah absolutely and if he goes back to europe i mean he'll become a better rider just
26:17because not because we're fast or anything but just how we go about racing i think uh they get more
26:24time over in europe so he'll probably be a little bit quicker earlier in the races just a little bit
26:28more fiery because of our schedule so nonetheless whatever they're doing over there has continued
26:34to work and it's starting to see not just one rider not two all of them oh yeah been really
26:40impressive a little shout out to styles robertson who's out with a wrist injury but i think he's
26:45been doing some riding helping the team test uh not quite ready to return to racing yet because
26:51that wrist is a problem but good to see styles at the last couple of races hanging out helping the
26:56team in any way he can oh looks like it's settled in now james hammaker second i don't know if degen's
27:03gonna make a run at him degen's only have one other moto this year outside the top two and that was that
27:09rough first moto at redbud yeah well hayden's coming yeah i don't think he's going to have
27:15a moto outside the top two because he's starting to catch i mean he ran at 221 last lap and and uh
27:21seth was in the 225 so mathematics and i'm not that great at it but i believe he's catching them
27:26pretty close look at the smx points as they run that's combining supercross and motocross together
27:33degen shimodo one two no surprise and honestly probably shouldn't be a surprise that march banks is
27:37third in points but most people probably are surprised at that but he's third in pro motocross
27:42points again he had a much more solid ending the supercross with a couple podiums and people
27:48probably remember yeah i mean it it is surprising because it always seems like we're talking about
27:53him in seventh and eighth yeah and he just continues to to come up as we start to show hayden degen and
27:59joe shimodo winning the races we kind of forget about garrett making these passes look at this degen's
28:05right there looking for a pass of his own yeah maybe some of those uh injuries over the last few
28:10weeks are starting to uh get on set because he doesn't he doesn't like the uh router that we saw
28:15in those opening laps and on a tough race track being dry just impressed that he's even out here
28:22i was going to say we have a two-week break the dude had a rough one at the last one at millville
28:28he could have just said i'll just use the two-week break nope he came out here and raced and
28:31he's racing really well uh sept is always those type of guys i mean this his body looks like he's
28:37built right some people just built right when they hit the ground the ground's like oh man here he comes
28:42again i don't know if he quite feels that way maybe millville's mount martin can tell that story
28:48because it it did get quite the hit last week but he got up and he raced that second moto and now he's
28:54hanging on with deegan looking to make a pass yeah hayden's gonna make short work of him
29:01yeah i think garrett marchbank's not too far behind him as well so seth might need a there you go
29:09horsepower hill still really impressive top three at the moment he's got to have to pick up the pace to
29:16hold his teammate off but still a top five after what we saw last weekend with him being on the ground
29:21really good we'll get the top going with danger boy because he will ride a 450 for a few days
29:28during this break talk to his mechanic brent duffy deegan raced a road a stock 450 a couple of years
29:36ago just for fun this will be the first time he's ever ridden on one of the team's 450 race bikes
29:41and the near theory was at least to get people talking we're talking about right it worked i was like
29:48i mean duff knows the game he's working for the deegans they know the game they get some headlines
29:54you know that's probably not going to be secret i'm sure we'll see some video yeah let's see some
29:59video i mean at this point i don't i don't see any benefit for doing it besides us talking about it
30:05and you know unless they're thinking about if he clenches early would he move up to the 450 class
30:12yes i actually asked duff that and his eyes started to light up i was like you know he could
30:17clinch early he's almost got a two race lead in the standings and he started to get pumped over that
30:22prospect well i'm sure we all are you know even this duff can uh pump but i i don't see that happening
30:29i mean the way especially with chase sexton winning like he did would be one thing there's really no
30:35benefit for him to do that and in my honest opinion because he's not going to just jump on the 450 and all
30:41of a sudden be competing against likes of jet lawrence and chase sexton eventually he will and
30:46give him off season yeah you know he'll get there but he's not going to just take two weeks and just
30:50jump on a 450 especially if he hasn't ridden it and go whole different motorcycle whole different ball
30:56game and you know the boys in a 450 class they're like oh yeah come on up come on up oh yeah they
31:02waiting for him oh he's got to be ready to go by that time he might get mad i'm going to say this he
31:08might be in the danger zone yeah when he jumps in against those boys if he does it for a race and
31:13remember he will have to go back to the 250 for smx you're not going to leave that kind of cash on the
31:18table yeah that's why i'm saying it i don't know the benefit for doing it but i do believe he's going
31:23to be a a problem for all those guys in the future fortner here on the 83 continuing to charge
31:33battling adams right now good for both these guys adams the young guy fortner's been around for a
31:40while but adams needs a little boost to confidence work there certainly could use it these are good
31:44finishes for them yeah and the rider d's right in front of them as austin does a little scrub
31:50should have drew up the inside here but drew's not letting it go get a little close you want some
31:58of this action no not today we see how that works out if anybody don't want any of that action it's
32:04going to be the guy right in front of a rider d he already had it so really impressed by austin
32:08today just been continually get better throughout the season and the way this season's been going
32:13it's almost a reflection of how today's been going bad start just continue to fight fight next
32:19thing you know he's up in the top five or at least fighting for it and maybe get another overall
32:25first overall in the top five as he goes around rotter d here wow fortner two passes here if he
32:30can make this stick yeah two passes in about a half a lap good good rod into the moto shows that he's
32:38working hard fitness is getting there i mean it was trying in supercross we had some races where he was
32:45barely getting in through the last chance qualifier to get to the main and for the standards that he has
32:49set got about a dozen i think career 250 supercross wins started the year off last year with a win
32:56it was definitely not instantly back to the old level but persistence paying off yeah and just let's
33:03back up you know three four years ago when you're talking about you know the future of sport yeah it
33:09was this guy i mean i believe he had more um i wouldn't say hype than hayden deegan but more
33:15expectations coming in than hayden deegan we knew hayden would eventually be good but austin we knew
33:20he was good in the amateur and then he came out that his rookie season went in those races before
33:24he got hurt so yeah it shows you how good austin fortner is but man some of the the injuries that
33:31he's had takes a lot for him to come back that's why i'm so impressed with him and and i love what i'm
33:36seeing jt i 100 agree with you james and let's not forget who he was significantly better than in that
33:43season when he hurt his knee the first time in nashville it would be the likes of chase sexton
33:47and justin cooper he was clearly better than those two before the first injury happened so it just
33:53shows you what potential is there now he's had a rough road since then but that's where he probably
33:58sees himself on some level of hey i was a lot better than those guys not that long ago so it's been
34:04a long road but it's nice to see some light at the end of the tunnel here for fortner yeah absolutely
34:09and it's many uh injuries that he's had in the back of your mind you remember those days like
34:15man i was i was beating those guys but man it takes a lot for a guy to come back here and fight that's
34:22why again i love austin fortner what he's been doing and i wish him the best seems like he's in a
34:27perfect scenario right now we're looking at march banks he's in a good scenario he's catching hamaker
34:33down the stretch yeah seth has picked up the page which is good for him and the way hayden went around
34:39and you would almost look like he was a wounded duck but he picked it up going
34:45second faster than his teammate maybe garrett's going to just get that podium get that interview
34:49he wants except get him another podium for two laps to go lap and a half yeah g money garrett march
34:57banks riding well all year will finally be rewarded with an overall podium if he can hold on to the end
35:03doesn't need to make the pass on his teammate for it white flag now out joe shimota working on two out
35:09of three and as they say in the song two out of three ain't bad oh but it could have been three in a
35:14row it could have been the uh moto gods rewarded everyone with that amazing second moto from jeremy
35:22martin last weekend winning his walk-off race but that cost shimota the overall but wherever the stats
35:29say whether it's two or three there's no doubt this guy's riding really well nah he is and man some of
35:36the races that joe's won over his career and even this year have been some dominant races i go back to
35:42last time joe won a moto i don't think they've been close they've been like this you know when this
35:47guy's on the forum i mean he's got 10 15 20 seconds so they've really pulled away he really
35:53pulls away i wonder then when that rear brake went out he told honda like hey i would have won that
35:59race so i want my bonus check look you know we can work on it i'll take half of it you know it's funny
36:05i have heard some people talk about the riding style of joey he uses the rear brake a lot to his
36:10advantage uh but honda even admitted that lars lindstrom the team manager said that's on us he uses the rear
36:16brake a lot we've got to come up with a way to allow him to do that you got those huge hills there
36:22at millville that doesn't help but uh they obviously rectified it today yeah and hey i got one other
36:30thing show is going to be the winner at the honda truck today the only winner rare moment put the big
36:37trophy in front of chit and hunter this time yeah rough day for the 450 boys i don't know what's going
36:42on with those guys struggling struggling last three motos this year i don't know what's up with jeff but
36:47at least joe can pick the spirits up over there joe this is your team but you know losing that rear
36:51brake he would have been in a lot more trouble here if you lost it yep last weekend worked out
36:57nonetheless joe's been riding good all year long nice to be paid off okay explain that because everyone's
37:01going to say mount martin's crazy without a rear brake but it's just that well the conditions a little bit
37:06softer there but you notice like here a lot slower at this race track there's a lot more stopping go
37:13compared to where it was at millville so you had that long downhill and that he was losing a lot of
37:18time but otherwise track yeah the rest of the track was pretty open well it's open for business right
37:24now and joe shimota heading on through he's going to go 2-1 and the rider out of suzuka japan
37:33joe shimota wins washu goal with tom joe wasabi yeah put a little heat on it today
37:44but a guitar solo they are really working on the celebrations at the finish these days i need to
37:48step my game up man they're coming out with new new uh moves over to honda yeah and there's deacon
37:54going to take second in the moto and second overall and seth hamaker a lot of tape a lot of grit will be
38:02third in the moto with the shoulder and knee bothering him but garrett marchbanks fourth of the
38:08moto will go three four for a third overall
38:15how about it man just goes about his business man just goes by his business
38:20said he needs to go faster without crashing and exactly what he did you might have the keys to
38:25the moto already for the next weekend huh joe that's he gives them to me all the time
38:31ride the same all the time too uh and you gotta wonder man he wins anaheim one had his fingers
38:38broken that was an incident that was not his fault actually hit a pit board which is crazy i've never
38:44heard of that happening have you no not um not like that not a purpose i'm sorry not an accident
38:51yeah yeah not dad getting mad after a moto yeah i mean i've had some people who are slung at me yeah
38:56yeah yeah um but he never got it back in supercross and he said they changed the bike a lot to
39:02compensate for riding with the broken fingers he never got back to that level makes you wonder what
39:06might have been there too well he's drinking weird that worked
