We've passed the halfway point of winter and after Canberrans shivered through June and that cold snap over the King's Birthday long weekend, many thought July would be much the same. But data from the Bureau of Meteorology shows warmer-than-usual temperatures in the capital over the past fortnight.

00:00Freezing nights, morning frost and puffer jackets are synonymous with Canberra winters.
00:08And June certainly fit the bill, with the capital experiencing its coldest spell in decades.
00:15But this month has been unusually mild.
00:18So far this month the average temperature has been a shade over 7 degrees.
00:23That's half a degree higher than usual.
00:26And the average minimum is 1.6, that's 1.5 degrees warmer than the seasonal average.
00:33There were two sub-zero nights this past week, including the coldest day of the month on Wednesday,
00:39when the mercury plunged to minus 5.4 and this morning's low of minus 5.1.
00:46Data from the Weather Bureau shows Canberrans have been feeling the cold this winter.
00:51The average temperature since the start of June has been 6 degrees,
00:55which is nearly a degree colder than usual.
00:5812.2 is our average maximum, which is the lowest maximum on record since observations started at Canberra Airport in 2009.
01:08We've already had a record-breaking low, with minus 7.6 recorded on June 21st.
01:15And the final week of June saw a run of five consecutive nights below minus 5.
01:21The last time that happened here was back in 1965.
01:25But despite all that overall, the bomb says Canberra's on track for a warmer than average winter.
01:32We'll be right back in proceeds.
01:33As of the time as we've told them, all of us will be liked.
01:34There are a lot of good news.
01:35It's like a murder-task.
01:37You can find a murder in my mind while there was over 13 or so.
01:39Don't be wrong with us in the end of the day.
01:41But again, this time is possible to take a look at this topic.
01:42You might be off the runway for the Dusk Valley River,
01:44you might be off the kurt bishop.
01:45But then there are more than eight or four feet,
01:51And get out of 12 minutes.
01:53In this case, we have been on track for the new day.
